  1. That car fucking moves out.

I'm with Gearhead though - as I'm watching it, I'm like, "Okay, this guy's has to have $100K in this car, and yet the fucking tail light is out???"

I'd put 5$ on this guy not being able to replace his own taillight.

  2. It wasn't a blanket statement that covers the entire fucking racing universe.

It covered the 8 second C6 Z06 in this thread. And I've been around enough "cheap" builds to know there is almost always more wrapped up in the cars than people allow the public to know.

    Some yes, some no.

The GrassRootsColt went 10.9@128 on literally nothing-it now has more money in body repair than anythign else, but hell its 100% mint. Show quality work at this point. Hell, I itemized when was in my pile when I was trapping 150mph an DDing the POS. I miss it to the point that I am an inch away from building another.

I think it takes skill more than money to make a car fast. Im sure you have seen MANY instances where people have pelted their Vette/RX7/Stang/Whatever with their credit card, just to have it blow up, eat motors, catch on fire...ect. On the other hand, you have seen Joe Dirt in his rusty beat Camaro going bottom 9's on a junkyard BBC and a Holley 850 he found in his barn.

In the end-I see it as "No amount of money cant fix Stupid"

  3. thats kinda odd since there were no signs of slip when i had it apart and it doesn't feel like its slipping on the street. and the C6Z is rated at 470 ft. lbs. of torque. i guess if you factor a 20% driveline loss then that puts me over 470 crank.

looks like i may have to save some moneys up and get another clutch:( brandon what is there in line with a stock LS2 flywheel? i deffently don't want one of those junk centerforce clutches, i hate the way anthony and garetts feel.

So, no one told you about this "bad" clutch when you left the shop?

  4. I totally forgot about that car. Thanks!

Well, I just don't believe that a stock 1G DSM is worth that to me. I'm not looking for a collectors car. Just a non-beater dsm that my wife will ride in. I had my version of a clean DSM (92 Laser RS Turbo AWD with 128k miles, older lady owned, stock), but it was totaled in a wreck, or I'd still have it.

    Looking for $<6k

Its collectors car clean. Toss him an offer. http://www.dsmsource.com/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=41251&cat=all

  5. Yeah, I saw that, and there would be no way I paid that much for even an uber clean 1G unless it was uber built too.

    Thanks for the bumps guys!

What are you looking to spend?

Literally the cleanest, stock DSM on earth is down the street from me. You say you wan something clean, but dont want to pony up the cash. Does not make much sense to me.

  6. What do you attribute the radical step at 2200 rpm and the non linear dip in the torque curve from 2750ish to 3200ish?

I am wondering if the first step was the transition to WOT but the second looks almost as if you have some sort of variable timing or TB throttle control event going on in that region.... Do you have timing and throttle outputs that coincide? Is that the only pull?

    Im am also interested.

  7.

how'd that work out for you?

From what I remember-not well. Security was alerted, looking for us, but we were already off the premises. I was in no capacity to make anything happen. They hid me somewhere and then tossed me into a cab. We didnt make it back to the car until the next day.

    So-Good time!!
