  1. Forecast is looking sexy. Truth. Stick with the plan, otherwise mass confusion is highly likely.
  2. Forecast for Sunday has improved considerably. Won't be able to count on it until the morning of, but I think we have a reasonable shot at making this ride.
  3. If that were the case, it certainly wouldn't be my ring finger
  4. Interesting, I just checked that out on t3h g00glez and apparently I've got something like that going on in the ring finger of my left hand. Anytime that hand gets cold, the whole finger turns white and goes numb (others are normal). I just thought I had injured it and had poor circulation or something.
  5. Quite a bit of interest so far, but still for sale!
  6. I had a pair of these for several years, and they were great boots. Good price on these too. GLWS.
  7. Quite a bit of interest so far, but still for sale!
  8. Yeah, the forecast isn't looking too great, although it's still only ~30% chance, so it could easily change. Is there a backup plan/date in case of rain? My plan for the slower group is to focus on keeping everyone together as much as possible, so that road conditions and other hand signal info can be communicated to everyone effectively. The pace will be 'fun, but no real need to hang off the bike'. I rode OH-555 at this pace with my Dad over the weekend and still had an absolute blast. It's a good time to practice being smooth with inputs, especially proper throttle through a corner. Anyone who wants to go quicker should be able to get with one of the other groups pretty easily. The real question is, do I rock the hard bags and top case?
  9. I'll echo the others and say that a slow/med/fast group should be the target, with people being able to move up/down at gas stops similar to a trackday - expecting everyone to have the same pace is a recipe for frustration/disaster. I have no problems leading the slower group. Also, if we can at least get an idea of the groups beforehand it would probably help. Just having everyone show up and figure out all the details will likely result in confusion and delays. I would also make sure some links to basic group riding etiquette guides and hand signals are posted so that everyone can read up and understand.
  10. You think the cable might have gotten damaged/snapped during the fall somewhere it wasn't visible/obvious? One thing I noticed when I was replacing my clutch side cover after my low-side is that the pin that the cable actuates was a little tricky to get engaged. Depending on how hard you hit the ground, it might have shifted around I'm basically just making stuff up now. Don't worry about 'another shot' - it happens to us all. Just learn from it and come back a better rider.
  11. Sorry to hear that :-(. Hopefully just the bike damaged and not you. I have some stock S3 parts (exhaust, other misc) in my garage. They're from an '06, but they might work on your bike.
  12. Well, I just got back. Met up with my Pops in Athens and rode OH-555 from bottom to top. Was an absolute blast! ~350 miles total. Still sorry I missed the ride, but any chance to ride w/ my Dad is one I'm going to take. Was a bit chilly this morning (~45 when I left) but it was perfect by ~10:00. Hope you guys had a good time.
  13. Unfortunately (sorta) it looks like I won't be able to make this ride. I have the opportunity to meet up with my Dad for a ride tomorrow which almost never happens, so I'm going to take it while I still have the chance. I'll actually be heading down to Athens on some of the same roads, so maybe I'll run into you. You guys be safe, and I'll catch you next time.
  14. I've got 2 for sale... The S3 would be perfect for this ride
  15. Those 50th anniversary colors are t3h secksay - saw them in person on the KR bike @ Indy.
  16. These are the types of riding shoes I was referring to, and some of them are quite nice. But for me personally, no full ankle protection/stabilization = no sale.
  17. There should be some larger ones near where the highways cross I-70. Those would probably be the best bet, and should work out ok on the distances as well. Edit for retroactive lulz:
  18. I wear my Sidi B-2 boots everytime I ride, no exceptions. I've walked around in them for hours before without any discomfort. I've seen some nice looking riding shoes out there, but I'm not willing to give up the ankle/hyper-extension protection that a full boot offers.
  19. Thanks for the kind words, everyone. Just think what a good compliment it would be to the Multi Besides, I'm guessing you could keep it running far longer than I could!
  20. Thanks for the kind words, everyone. It really is a great bike, and I've really enjoyed riding it, but now it's someone else's turn to enjoy it.
  21. That's the plan, especially if the rumors of the green color coming next year are true.
  22. You should definitely come and bring the N1K. I've been eyeing it for awhile now, and having one ride circles around me would probably push me over the edge
  23. Sounds like a good time. If it's on Sunday, I should be able to make it - I'm running in the Akron Marathon relay on Sat. I could lead a group or sweep, I know most of these roads fairly well, but I probably won't commit to a blistering pace since I'd most likely be on the FZ1. I'd probably pass on the shirt, although they do look quite nice.
