  1. If it winds up being as much fun as I think it will, I might be willing to have another go on 9/27. If you do decide to try for the 25th, let me know and maybe we can meet up in Lodi and carpool or something.
  2. Just got back from ~400 miles of SE Ohio goodness on the 900 SuperSlow, including a good bit of this route. Most of the roads are in good shape, but unfortunately OH-26 is closed about 15~20 miles South of Woodsfield. Looks like it will be that way for the next several weeks. The good news is that the detour is one some pretty excellent roads as well, but it took quite a bit longer than I expected to get through that section.
  3. That route looks awesome. I'm still not sure about the 4th weekend, but I definitely want to do that one sometime this summer.
  4. I might be around over the 4th weekend. If so I'd definitely be up for a ride down to the river and back. I'll check with the family and see if any plans have been made. You should sign up for the July 25th KTM day - You can be there to witness my spectacular slowness.
  5. I'll be there on Saturday for sure, and maybe Sunday as well.
  6. I've ridden OH-164 quite a few times this season, and it's still in pretty good shape, with not much gravel. The newly paved section between Kilgore and Amsterdam is especially nice - I'd hit that if you're going to be in the area. I've not been on OH-213, but it looks like a fun road.
  7. Wish I could make this one - I'll try and catch the next ride. You guys have a great time and be safe!
  8. Another vote for the 2010 with the accessories - the 2008+ models are already upgraded with improved FI and brakes from my 2006, which I already think is one of the best bikes I've ever ridden. One word of caution, once you hear the exhaust note from an aftermarket setup, you'll never be satisfied with stock
  9. No, I waited until a bit after noon, but no one else showed. Still a good ride though.
  10. Sorry I wasn't able to hook up with anyone either. Had a nice ~200 mile ride on the Duc. No oil leaks or breakdowns, so I'm calling it a win.

    Help me please!

Sounds good to me. I'll be there ready to go wheels up @ noon unless the forecast drastically changes.

    Help me please!

Probably head out from DQ and follow the basic route from this thread. This will be my first long ride on the 900 SuperSlow, so I'm not planning on a blistering pace or anything, just a nice fun ride.

I was thinking about doing a run down 164. I can't make the CORE ride, but with the forecast looking much better, I definitely want to get out tomorrow. Probably target a noon start and 3~4 hours of riding.
  14. I signed up for the July 25th date in Novice. I've been putting off doing a trackday at Mid-O for way too long, and this seemed like a great way to do it. That, and I'm pretty excited to try out the RC8R.
  15. Well that was a heck of a nice ride. Great weather, and some nice roads. The first 2 sections of 164 were not that great - the road condition is deteriorating, and there were some areas that had some dirt and gravel. The re-paved 3rd section is awesome thought - the pavement is perfect and gravel-free. Hopefully we can get a group together to do this one again soon. Now time to get the FZ out for some lovin' while this weather holds.
  16. Definitely the second one. I typically try to keep the speeds 70~80ish, especially in the straights. I don't really care about top speeds, just having fun in the corners.
  17. Well, looks like this one may not work out - I'll just plan on doing my own thing. I'll catch you guys next time.
  18. UPDATE: Looks like this one isn't going to work out. Consider it cancelled - We'll try it again some other time. For those of you in the Cleveland/Akron/Canton area that aren't planning on heading down for the Dyno Day, the forecast for tomorrow is looking pretty darn good, and I'd like to try and get a ride together to take advantage. I'm thinking about a ride South of Canton to OH-164 - Nothing too long or challenging, but a nice ~3 hour ride to clear the winter cobwebs. Here's my plan for the route: Good Maps Link This hits quite a few of the nice roads in this area, and I'm especially partial to OH-164 for shorter rides like this. Meet up at the DQ in Bolivar and plan on heading out @ 10:00 AM. The ride should take about 3 hours and will put us back at Bolivar. I'm going to be taking pretty easy since this is my first 'real' ride of the year and I haven't had a chance to check out the road conditions. Figure a max of ~70 in the straights and slower than usual through the corners since I haven't check out the gravel situation. Also, on rides like this I like to keep everyone together as much as possible. I try to avoid passing cars on double yellows most of the time, and I don't mind waiting a bit to make sure everyone can make it by safely. If that's not your thing that's fine, just be aware this may not be the ride for you.
  19. This is 99% scam, but I admit, I emailed him about it. I figure having the gmail account I use for stuff like this spammed is worth it on the very off chance that it's legit.
  20. I'll definitely be out tomorrow for a bit if the weather is as good as predicted.
  21. Saw this earlier today on Autoblog - definitely an awesome video. The part with the Segway slays me every time.

    Ouch

Really sorry to hear about this UP. I was looking forward to at least one more chance to not bin the S3 on a ride with you this year. Heal up well, man.
  23. Great, great shots man! I especially like the interview shots - I wasn't around to catch any of those. The downtown and on-track shots are also fantastic!
