  1. Damn, I've seen that done in a Mini before, but never a freakin' van.
  2. That's some very nice video quality. I also love how the wide-ish angle of the lens exaggerates the sense of speed. The idea of the rear view sounds pretty cool, especially since that's the only way you could get any footage of my slow ass...
  3. Just got back from ~30 minute shakedown ride and then another ~30 minutes with the wife on the back. It was actually pretty nice out. A bit more salt still on the roads than I would have liked, but at least it was dry.
  4. Thanks UP. I'm definitely itching to get back on the road and looking forward to riding with you guys again, hopefully with better results.
  5. Almost. I've got all the parts on order from BikeBandit. I'm hoping to have it ready to go sometime mid March. Honestly, all it really needs is a new handlebar and a rear brake lever to be ride-able, but I decided to get new cases to make her pretty again.
  6. Great video Rob, brings back some memories about some excellent SE rides from last year.
  7. Looking good Cleave! I'm still waiting on parts to get the S3 back up and running.
  8. I low-sided on OH-60 in a 25 mph corner. I was probably going 30~35 and the bike just kept going down as I transitioned into the corner. I wound up in the middle of the road and the bike didn't really even make it to the shoulder. I'm fairly certain there was some sand involved, but Inya/UP made it through the corner OK, so I'll never be sure, but I certainly went through many more corners quicker earlier in the day. The leathers did there job perfectly. The relatively low speed coupled with the fact that I was hanging off the bike a bit anyway resulted in almost no impact and zero injuries, other than my knee being slightly sore this morning. I'll need new gloves, but the rest of my gear made it through with surprisingly little damage. Needless to say, I will never do another even mildly spirited ride in anything less than full gear. The bike actually made it through pretty well. The frame slider did it's job, so the damage was pretty minimal, and the bike was completely rideable, minus the rear brake (which I don't use anyway) lever snapping off. All in all, I was incredibly lucky, and I thank all the guys on the ride for your support. I'll definitely be back out again.
  9. Made it back just fine. Sorry it couldn't be a clean ride, but in the end I'm not going to complain as I'm completely unscathed, I'm just sorry that the other incident was related to mine. The S3 is a little banged up, but should be as good as new with a little time and elbow grease over the winter. Other than that I had a blast. Was great to finally meet you UP, thanks for leading the way and helping out when things took a turn for the worse.
  10. Right on 83 at the South part of town. Waiting for Cleve now.
  11. Weather Channel says it's 39 right now in Akron. Gonna be a chilly start, but hopefully will warm up quickly. I'm definitely looking forward to the ride. Cleve and I will see you guys in Millersburg.
  12. Let me know if you're able to make it and want to ride down from Akron to Millersburg. I'll probably hit Massillon and pick up 241 down to M-burg from there.
  13. Sounds great. I'll try to get there by 10:45 so I'm gassed up and ready to roll. Weather is great today, hopefully the trend continues for tomorrow.
  14. So will there be a stop @ the Speedway in Millersburg? That's probably the easiest place for me to meet up with you guys. If you head out of 82/83 at 10:00, I could probably head out of Akron about the same time and be there by 10:45~11:00. I can head out earlier if you guys will be around that area sooner.
  15. This sounds like a really great ride. If the forecast continues to hold out I'd probably prefer this to doing a shorter loop around 164/Atwood. I could probably catch you guys on 83 coming through Millersburg.

    Saturday 11/14

If Saturday's forecast is as good as currently predicted, I'd actually be up for doing a South of Canton ride - probably 164 & Atwood loop.
  17. Yeah, it's just a long shutter speed, no Photoshop needed. 1~4 seconds on a tripod depending on the lighting for all of these.
  18. I've been up to Brandywine a couple of times over the last few weeks trying to get some decent shots of the falls with the fall colors. The first time was 2~3 weeks ago during the mid-afternoon and worked out pretty well: I wanted to go back and try again while the leaves were still on the trees, so I went back the other night and tried to get a few more. Was a little closer to dark this time, so I had to use some really long exposures, but there was some nice light: Just below the falls. It was beautiful down there: I definitely recommend the area for some hiking and sight-seeing.

    Sunday 10/25?

Saturday looks to be a little warmer. Either way, I wouldn't mind putting around the valley, or even heading South for a bit.
  20. Looks like you guys had a good time. I think I saw the group at Brandywine yesterday afternoon when I was pulling in to take some pictures.
  21. Post up when you decide what you guys are doing. I might be up for it later this afternoon, even a cruise through the valley would be ok with me.
  22. No takers? Alright, I'll plan on doing my own thing since tomorrow morning still looks pretty good. You guys have a great rest of the weekend!
  23. Looks like the Sunday forecast is looking much better now, so I think that's going to be the new plan.
  24. *Update - Looks like no one's interested, so consider this cancelled* Gauging interest for a Saturday ride up 164 this weekend. I wish I had enough time for another run to the river, but unfortunately not this weekend, especially since Sunday is calling for rain. This would be similar to previous rides - meet up in Bolivar at DQ @ ~10:00 AM (if no CLE folks are interested we can make it sooner) and head out at quickly as possible, then take 212 over to 164 up to Lisbon, head west on 172 to 9 and then back South to Bolivar. Whole route is 3~4 hours depending on pace, which will be whatever you are comfortable with. I usually keep it ~70 on the straights and whatever I feel I can manage through the corners. We'll always wait up at stops, and fortunately 164 has several good places for everyone to catch up. I'll probably ride regardless, but it's always nice to have some company.
  25. Probably 5000~6000. Definitely did a much better job of getting out and taking every opportunity this year than the past few, but it still feels like I could have ridden more... Hopefully the weather stays good into October.
