  1. Not like ur thinking. He's an old friend (in age and longevity...hehehe. Just kiddin I luv ya man!). I believe most people met him at the Christmas dinner & he is on the board. He usually doesn't sign in but just stalks us as a guest. He actually has a GF....well at least he just started dating someone.
  2. Again....is anyone from C-Bus meeting anywhere to ride up? I'm hoping my friend Jeff (kreator) will ride up with me. Hint, Hint Jeff.....I'm much more fun than you're brother in law!!!!!
  3. I'm just gonna through this out there b/c frankley I'm bored and avoiding 5 loads of laundry after a long day at work BUT I do have to admit that "sometimes" the smarter people aren't always the better people. I can remember dating a doc I worked with. He was a radiation oncologist and honestly the smartest person I have ever met. He graduated from Harvard and I don't even want to think what his actual IQ was. To be honest he had absolutely NO social skills b/c he has spent his life in the books. He'd read a book a day AFTER a long day at work and actually enjoy it. Don't get me wrong I love to read but I believe there needs to be balance. I know I am way off the topic here but sometimes a healthy drive in lieu of natural ability shows more about a person that an IQ or an ivy league education that came easily to someone.
  4. True dat!!! And for those who have gone to grad school or have pursued a PhD they know that undergrad is like kindergarten. I never went to an ivy league school but I work and trained with many docs who have. HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!
  5. Very articulate and nicely said Ben!!!!
  6. I think it's very easy for people who haven't had to put their life on the line to judge things they don't know and have not had to endure themselves. My brother spend 2 years over in Iraq. Praise God that he came home alive and in one piece. The average American has not seen what truly goes on over in those areas. My brother has seen things that we and the media will never understand unless we saw it first hand. My brother had to kill young children that had bombs strapped to their back that got too close to American check points and then dig a grave for them. He was shot over there and had granades hit his hum v (don't know if that's what the trucks are actually called). Had he come home in a casket like many other fallen soldiers I would NEVER say that he gave his life in vain. He would still be my hero like his is now. My brother believes in democracy, freedom, and what he was fighting for. He still stands behind Bush's decision to go over there. Many, many soldiers still do. I can tell u that the media does NOT give an accurate portrayal of what actually goes on over there. Maybe if you could see the faces of those that were once in bondage and now able to live a life of freedom without the fear of death you'd have a difference perspective. Unfortunately the Nicky that went over to Iraq is not the same Nicky that came home but he continues to work through it. Thank God there are people that are willing to fight for what they believe all humans should have regardless of their American citizenship. All people deserve to be free. Should we be the policeman of the middle east? That's a debate I'm not getting into but I will not allow someone to say my brother's actions were futile. He is my hero!!!
  7. I didn't say I disagreed with free speech. If you read everything I wrote you'd see that. It is a blessing to be born into America. America is the greatest country on the face of this earth. What I was talking about is the blatant disrespect. I do NOT like Obama for many, many reasons yet I am not going to speak out negatively about him out of respect for the office he holds. Americans do go too far with what they say. It's not wrong to voice an opinion but it can be done the right way. When I am discussing indifferences with collegues I can tear someone to shreads with my words in a professional manner and then leave the person's presence with no amimosity . I'm never rude about it but when they leave the interaction they know exactly how I feel about them or what they are doing. Today at work a couple of people were discussing their dislikes of Bush and they kept telling me I was wrong and became somewhat belligerent with me. They let their emotions overtake their words instead of discussing the situation like adults. I never once rose my voice but was able to get my point across and move on. There is an art to confrontation.....and believe me it took me many a years to conquer that. Yes I'm rambling. I'm done now!
  8. Regardless of how he does in the next 4 years I will NEVER vote for someone whom I disagree with so vehemently when it comes to ethical views. I don't hate the guy I just disagree with too many of his views. I didn't even vote for McCain in the primaries b/c he was too liberal for me. In this past election I merely voted for the "lesser of two evils" so to speak. But I agree with you Chris about all the smack talk about Bush the last 8 years. I watched his last speach last night and my heart broke for him. It's so easy to run your mouth about someone when you don't have to walk in their shoes. He had many, many hard decisions to make. I didn't agree with all of them but who am I to speak against our president in such a negative manner? It is disrespectful. I saw dennis leary on Oprah today speaking out against Bush again. I could have reached inside the TV and smacked him. I understand there is free speech but Americans take it too far sometimes. Although I'm not fond of Obama I am still going to support him and his decisions now. He was not my pick but our democratic nation spoke already and I for one am thankful for our freedoms. I will pray for my president just like I have Bush the last 8 years.
  9. Count it an early birthday present. Oh and MY BIRTHDAY is the day I'll be in cleveland. So Brian I will expect a present. I am a princess u know. Bahahahaha!!!!
  10. Unfortunately Pedro there are LOTS of things that go on in active churchs that we don't even know about. At least no they aren't having church there. hehe.
  11. So where is everyone meeting to ride up? I'm gonna go up for the day with a friend but I'd like to follow some peeps. We should meet up for breakfast like we did last year. I have a 4 day weekend next week seeing that I'm have to round at the hospital AND all the hospice patients this weekend. NO fun for me! So I'm expecting some major fun next weekend!
  12. I don't go out much at all but if I want to be in a "club" atmosphere I really like BOMA. It's over on Broad St. I haven't been there in about a year so I'm not sure if it's even open anymore. Some of the other bars mentioned are geared toward the early 20 something crowd. If I decide to go out I prefer a more upscale venue (which are few and far b/t in Cbus) but you'll have a good time no matter what you choose if you're with a great group of gals.
  13. Hahahah...Chris I just drove over the snow in my driveway to get to the garage. I'm such a girl sometimes but thank God for 4 wheel drive.
  14. I don't have personal stuff on my page that everyone doesn't know about me already. It states my bike and profession. Anyone can do a search and find me on the board of nursing anyway. Plus...I disabled the vcard thing. I just would REALLY like the option to have nobody follow my posts, etc. if I don't want them to. It was just a question for Ben...not sure if it's even possible??? hehe.
  15. I was going to add ur job title, social security number, address, etc but I opted not to this time.
  16. Hey Ben....is there any way to make our own pages private like my myspace and facebook are? This is an option I would really like. Since the site crashed we always have TONS of guests on that can view all our information and although I am a VERY open person there are a few people that aren't members on here that I would rather not have watching my posts or having access to previous postings by viewing my page. If not it's ok. I was just wondering.
  17. I didn't even check the design of the study so I'm not sure how "valid" it is. I just thought it was hilarious! It was just meant to be a joke.
  18. So when u guys are really hard up you can present this to your wives and "maybe" it will help. Thought this was hilarious! Study: Fellatio may significantly decrease the risk of breast cancer in women (AP) -- Women who perform the act of fellatio and swallow semen on a regular basis, one to two times a week, may reduce their risk of breast cancer by up to 40 percent, a North Carolina State University study found. Doctors had never suspected a link between the act of fellatio and breast cancer, but new research being performed at North Carolina State University is starting to suggest that there could be an important link between the two. In a study of over 15,000 women suspected of having performed regular fellatio and swallowed the ejaculatory fluid, over the past ten years, the researchers found that those actually having performed the act regularly, one to two times a week, had a lower occurrence of breast cancer than those who had not. There was no increased risk, however, for those who did not regularly perform. "I think it removes the last shade of doubt that fellatio is actually a healthy act," said Dr. A.J. Kramer of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, who was not involved in the research. "I am surprised by these findings, but am also excited that the researchers may have discovered a relatively easy way to lower the occurrence of breast cancer in women." The University researchers stressed that, though breast cancer is relatively uncommon, any steps taken to reduce the risk would be a wise decision. "Only with regular occurrence will your chances be reduced, so I encourage all women out there to make fellatio an important part of their daily routine," said Dr. Helena Shifteer, one of the researchers at the University. "Since the emergence of the research, I try to fellate at least once every other night to reduce my chances." The study is reported in Friday's Journal of Medical Research. In 1991, 43,582 women died of breast cancer, as reported by the National Cancer Institute. Dr. Len Lictepeen, deputy chief medical officer for the American Cancer Society, said women should not overlook or "play down" these findings. "This will hopefully change women's practice and patterns, resulting in a severe drop in the future number of cases," Lictepeen said. Sooner said the research shows no increase in the risk of breast cancer in those who are, for whatever reason, not able to fellate regularly. "There's definitely fertile ground for more research. Many have stepped forward to volunteer for related research now in the planning stages," he said. Almost every woman is, at some point, going to perform the act of fellatio, but it is the frequency at which this event occurs that makes the difference, say researchers. Also key seems to be the protein and enzyme count in the semen, but researchers are again waiting for more test data. The reasearch consisted of two groups, 6,246 women ages 25 to 45 who had performed fellatio and swallowed on a regular basis over the past five to ten years, and 9,728 women who had not or did not swallow. The group of women who had performed and swallowed had a breast cancer rate of 1.9 percent and the group who had not had a breast cancer rate of 10.4 percent. "The findings do suggest that there are other causes for breast cancer besides the absence of regular fellatio," Shafteer said. "It's a cause, not THE cause."
