PrincessPratt replied to Fonzie's topic in Events
Just to drive up and hang out with you Chris!!! He actually came over last night and helped a bit with that darn laminate. Thanks for asking him about that tool!!! Nice young lad that Justin is!!! The freaking idiots at rockford put down the laminate and particle board THEN put down the cabinets!!! OMG...its been a bear to pull it up and I still have tons to do!!! Anyhoo, what time r u guys leaving. Ben, Carie, Chris...do u guys care if we follow u up??? -
Does nobody watch blue ray??? I only buy/rent blue ray movies now. There is a huge difference in watching a 1080p and 720p movie. To get the 1080p it was only an extra $200 which is well worth it to me to be able to view a true blue ray in my family room. And I do have a samsung....LOVE IT!!! My DLP is a toshiba...hate it!!!

Thanks! Now I just need a pick up truck. Hint, Hint...

I purchased it from Ask in Grove City. I was very pleased with their customer service and will purchase another bike from them if given the chance...which will probably be next year.
-
I haven't read through ALL the drama on this thread but I will tell you that customer service is NUMBER ONE on my list. If I am treated badly by someone I will not ever buy anything from them. If I have already purchased something from a company and I am treated badly without it being rectified I will never buy from them again. Just ask MAG. The people that used to service my land rover were rude and inconsiderate. I shortly turned that in for something else at another dealership. I will never buy a car from MAG again. I LOVE the service department with the car I have now but then again they are known for their service. Well let's get back to bikes....I had money in pocket and was went looking for a bike to purchase on a nice Saturday morning. I initially went to hinds and they treated me very similar to the lady that went to cycle search minus the ghetto environment . Well let's see I went about 20 miles south and bought my suzuki that day!!! I don't let people treat me like crap! This woman has every right to think these people are rude and insensitive. It has nothing to do with the "thickness" of her skin but has everything to do with the integrity and character of the company that she is giving her money to!!! I think in society today people think it's ok to be rude to customers. This is not the way to run a buisness.

OK so as most of you know I have had MAJOR issues with my home the last few months. Well I have finally ordered my new wood floor but had to pull up the existing one....all 700 sq ft!!! The bamboo wasn't that hard to pull up and it only took my friend and I four hours to pull it up on Saturday. The thing is there was TONS of mold the closer I got to the initial insult of the water damage thus I have to pull up all the laminant and the 1/4" particle board that is stapled down to the sub flooring. Plus Rockford Builders are freaking idiots!!! they laid the laminant and particle board and THEN put in the cabinets. SERIOUSLY??!!?? This process is taking forever!!!! Ok I'm done ranting now. I have a HUGE pile of wood out in my back yard now and will be adding to it this week as I get the rest of the laminant, particle board up, etc. Does anyone know where I can haul this stuff away to and does anyone have an "older" truck that I can throw this in the back of? If so can you please send me a PM?? I realize I have been a very needy female lately but how many of you know a woman that would actually be ripping this crap up herself? Thanks in advance!

Justin I already told u that u could ride with me. Hopefully Jeff will be driving????? Hint...Hint....??????? -
Exactly. I have an acquaintence that honestly curses more than any person I have ever met in my entire life. And I grew up in a household where my momma had a mouth like a sailor. In one sentence he has to use the "F" word at least twice. He even tells me that his own family complains about how much he curses when I bring up up yet again. I have friends that curse and that's their perrogative but the also know how to articulate themselves in a manner that is not offensive to others when we are in public. I do have to admit that I attempt every day NOT to curse but my road rage gets me ever time and that darn f bomb seems to come out! I hate it but at least i'm usually alone.

Poser!!! All this and no night out!

I have a DLP in my bedroom and a plasma downstairs. The picture quality CANNOT be compared. The plasma is a better picture by far. If you search around and know how to bargain you can get a great price. I only paid $1500 for a 50" plasma 1080P (has tons of other options too) with a 5 year extended warrantly....and that was out the door pricing. My DLP was $2200 about 4 or 5 years ago and that's without the warranty. And by the way I have the HD package from Direct TV so with like 100 HD stations there seriously is a big difference even in that with pic quality. I would NEVER by a DLP again but I'm keeping it b/c it feeds my fetish. Also even with the "newer" DLP models you are still going to have some bulk in the back meaning you can't mount it on the wall. I for one don't want my TV taking up floor space. I already have too much crap around my family room as it is.
-
Fonzie...I just bought a plasma a couple months back. And for those of you who really know me know exactly how much research I put into larger purchases. IF you are putting the TV in a room with TONS of sunlight then you will definitely need an LCD. Plasmas don't do as well with glare. I didn't thus I was fortunately able to purchase a plasma. The color is out of this world. Seriously! And I love to watch tons of ESPN and speed channel (just throwing that in there for the post above). I purchased a 1080P vs a 720p (which is the same as a 1080i). Right now there's not much of a reason to purchase a 1080p UNLESS you are going to use blue ray. They will say it doesn't make that much of a difference but I actually made several sales people put in a blue ray DVD in the 1080p and 720p and believe me there is a BIG difference. Plus hopefully in the next few years they will be able to broadcast in 1080p. Right now all those HD stations we have on our Direct TV is only 1080i not 1080p. I love my plasma. Life span for both the plasma and LCD is exactly the same (about 10 years). You're going to also pay a few hundred more for the LCD also. And for that other comment above. I have SCREEN BURN PROTECTION on my TV with pixel shift. You can set it up for however many minutes you want your TV to shift to prevent pixel burn. I hope some of this helps. Oh also I always buy the 3 or 4 year protection plans. It will pay for anything that happens to your TV. I have a 65 inch DLP (I know but it's like 5 years old...hehehe) and the bulb burned out after 2 years. I hadn't bought the protection plan that would have only cost $299. well the bulb cost me $259 from Ebay. My color wheel went out on it a week b/f the1 year manufacturers warrently expired. I know this is a DLP vs my wonderful plasma but the point is things can and usually do go wrong at some point with the TV's. I know it's more money but if you have to get the TV fixed it's so much more money. Anyhoo that's my input.

I just covered "some" of this in the dream job thread but I just love what I do. I know that I am doing exactly what God created me to do. When you know that you are fullfilling your purpose there is a deep sense of contentment and security that you can't get from anyone but God. There are many, many other things that are on the horizon for me besides my medical practice but being kingdom minded keeps me going every day. We all make mistakes but knowing that each day brings a new beginning filled with grace and mercy wakes me up with a smile on my face every morning!
-
I actually have my dream job right now. I work in Palliative Medicine/Hospice as a Nurse Practitioner. I have the exact amount of autonomy I desire and I leave work every single day knowing that I've made a difference in several people's lives. I can see myself doing this 30+++ years. I think when we have a dream we have to go after no matter what the cost. If I could tell you what I had to go through in my personal life during graduate school you'd be amazed that I even decided to continue BUT I knew there was a means to an end. I am happy every day and I am actually excited to go to work every single day of my life.

I have a treo 755 and my buttons don't register all the time. I hate my phone but stuck with it until my contract runs out in August. I would get the flip phone but I need all my medical programs on it for work. I don't use mine for status (as lizard states people do) and honestly I don't know who would b/c the pda phones are a pain in the tush!
-
Well normally I would say this is true but you haven't met my friend Jeff (kreator) yet. I think some of you saw his blackberry at the Christmas party. He was talking to his mom on the phone and taking something out of the oven when he dropped it in the oven catching it on fire. After he put out the fire the darn thing STILL worked. His job replaced the phone. Now after that story maybe he will come out of "guest stalking" mode on this board!

Ya that's what I've read thus far. The houses he's looking at are 1 mil plus so I'm gonna look into it. I'm just trying to see if anyone actually has this stuff in their homes so I can get actual feedback.
-
Well I've decided to add some new counter tops to my kitchen. I know there are tons of people on here who have done lots of fun things to their homes. Does anyone have granite...chorion (think that's how it's spelled)? I'm open to other things than granite but I want to put something a bit "higher" end to increase resale value. If you have granite do u like it? Any issues? Also does anyone have any particular vendor in Columbus that they have been especially pleased with. I know lots of questions but it is me starting this thread. Oh one more thing....the doc that's in my practice has been looking for a new home with his new fiance. He said that people are starting to put in "concrete" counter tops. I haven't seen any of these but was just throwing that out there.

I'm game but Robin has to bring Bailey!!!!

EXACTLY WHY I DIDN'T VOTE FOR OBAMA!!!!

I'm looking to purchase some land and rebuild. Staying in Cbus...I LOVE my job! Also laying floor isn't that hard if your home is a bit older. My NEW home has crooked walls etc etc. It made laying the floors downstairs quite difficult. It's a Rockford so what do u expect.
-
Ya I'm redoing my ENTIRE first floor including ripping up the carpeting in my family room. I'm selling the first moment the housing market turns around so I'm doing everything to make it buy worthy. hehe. I'm also putting in granite counter tops...kinda excited about that one. Anyhoo in 2 weeks it should look like a magazine pic. Well hopefully....

ananda....I would check out lumber liquidators on the west side (I believe it's off of fisher road???). I'm purchasing about 1000 sq ft from them tomorrow to finally replace my existing bamboo and I'm saving close to $1500 going through them. And if you don't know what you're doing pay someone. My brother and me laid my downstairs last year and many many mistakes were made that could have been alleviated with an expert. You can find a decent priced contractor especially with the way the economy is right now. Tons of people are out of work and will bid for work now. Also make sure that WOOD flooring is their specialty and ask for pics of previous jobs. Just an FYI. I always enlighten people to MY mistakes so they don't repeat them.

I don't believe Ben ever once wrote that he wasn't going to question certain decisions that the president makes. I voted for Bush and I still stand behind my decision both times but I didn't agree with every single decision he made. Supporting our president doesn't mean we agree with every single position he takes. For instance, I will not EVER EVER EVER be pro choice yet I will still support Obama by praying for him to make the right decisions for us, etc. There is a big difference. Do all of us agree with every single decision our friends make? I certainly don't yet if they need me at any time I will be there to support them. And honestly I don't think it's healthy to not challenge other people with our views and give constructive criticism. I understand that is an extremely elementary analogy but you get the point. I don't mind if people talk about our president just as long as they do it in a respectful way and also acknowledge the good along with the bad.
