  1. I also sell some for the right price.
  2. Nah, it's just a good war trophy to take off dead Republican Guard. The M9 bayonet is a lot nicer.
  3. Dear Ronald Reagan, Please rise from the dead. Love - America http://thejunction.net/blog-images/ronald-reagan.jpg
  4. I have a stupid question, but when I get home, where do I get the updates at for the iphone 4?
  5. I say check out anyone of the Pawn Shops around too. Bound to be an 870 or 500 around that needs some love.
  6. I might be able to email Tommy Campbell from Safariland for ya. He hooked me up with my M9 drop leg holster. Love the holster, but not a tac ride fan, so I rock my M9 on my hip in a SERPA paddle holster. It's similar to my 21SF that has a full picatiny rail, so it is tough to get a holster to accomidate the rail.
  7. It was fun to shoot Ma Deuce on the go in our Humvees in Iraq. Made it a little hard having to look through the thermal weapons sight. It was the older version of the PAS-13, but still pretty amazing at night. http://www.americanspecialops.com/images/equipment/pas-13-m2-machine-gun.jpg
  8. Some of the M500 series Mossbergs have metal triggers/safeties aswell. The Remington 870 is on a steel reciever, so they're a little heavier. That ATI stock on your Mossberg does cut a bit of weight. Fired any 3" shells out of it yet? Brian fired a few when I saw him at Blackwing when I had it. I'm waiting on my 590A1 right now.
  9. If I get some time to jump on Skype this week I will. I'll be home for good in December, but I might be able to set something up for ya.
  10. Cheaped up, stolen German design. I see nothing interesting in them, and I've shot a fair share of them not availible to 98% of US citizens. And they're not as reliable as everyone says they are.
  11. Junk peasant rifles. Some AK variants are cheaper, but step into the Saiga or Arsenal game, then you're in something worth a damn.
  12. I have a complete S&W M&P15 lower if you're interested. I know it said stripped, but it would save you the hastle of building.
  13. I'll have to share that with the brass today.
  14. Joe, you're talking about the Stop Loss retroactive pay. I submitted mine October 6th and got paied last week from Sept 06 to March 07. It was $500/month for every month you were kept past your ETS date. The state veteran program won't have a deadline I'd assume, for some time. I'll eventually get it filled out, but I'm in no rush. The stop loss payment was deffinately well worth it and extremely simple. They gave me a case number, and a few steps to prove I was that service member, then just punched in my bank info.
  15. You'll probably start noticing less of the Mountain Deer patches running around. We almost got some 9mm chambered 7" uppers for our PSD mission, but somehow they "disappeared". I have a feeling supply was in on it along with the bearded boys. I'm all for the ACR becoming the new Army battle rifle, thanks to the modularity of it.
  16. We've got the advanced party already here from the unit replacing us in Kabul. It's too bad the Multicam uniform is being built by the same clowns building our ACU's. I've been hearing RC East has been a bit interesting this past year. Boring is an understatement for Kabul, since NATO/Turks/High Brass run this cluster of an AO.
  17. I bet there's a few hanging on to their 10mm's, but it seems to be a caliber of the past. With .40S&W rounds reaching new velocities and packing more energy, a 10mm seems almost obsolete. Granted, the FBI helped in the creation of the 10mm. From what I've seen, FBI ranks are dominated by Sig Sauers and Glocks.
  18. Word on the block is the Winchester 175gr Silvertips are a good performer in 10mm. I've also heard great things on the Double Tap 155gr Gold Dot is a real money maker when it boils down to penetration. Here's something I picked up on Glock Talk, since I've been interested in Ted Nugent's favorite caliber - 10mm DoubleTap 10mm 135gr JHP @ 1600fps - 11.0" / .70" frag nasty 155gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1475fps - 13.5" / .88" 165gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1400fps - 14.25" / 1.02" 165gr Golden Saber JHP @ 1425fps - 14.75" / .82" 180gr Golden Saber JHP @ 1330fps - 16.0" / .85" 180gr XTP @ 1350fps – 17.25” / .77” 180gr Gold Dot JHP @ 1300fps - 15.25" / .96" 200gr XTP @ 1250fps - 19.5" / .72" 230gr Equalizer @ 1040fps - 11.0" and 17.0" / .62" and .40" Those are penetration and expansion #'s. Here's the thread for reference: http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=336612 I've been debating the mighty 10mm myself, but I like the variation and availibility of .45ACP. The FBI and Ted Nugent aren't wrong in saying the 10mm is a mean round, I don't see it ever taking over .45ACP on the big bore market anytime soon.
  19. One way or another, in a combat environment, you're going to have to close in with the enemy/hostile force. There's no way around it, no matter how much thinking and planning go into it. At some point, you'll end up almost an arms distance. With the advent of the Fully Automatic capabilities, the ratios will turn ugly. The US Army has come around in doctorine and thought in a wide spectrum battle field like Iraq/Trashcanistan. Accuracy and shot placement, on top of controlled pairs in close combat showed proof of current procedures. I don't see a problem with the weapons themselves, other than premature barrel wear, firing pin issues, and the ever so popular magazine follower issue. Will a young cherry in his first firefight be selecting targets as rounds crack over head? Doubt it. That M4 will snap to AUTO, and before he knows it, a tradition battle load of 210 rounds is gone in under 5 minutes, with nothing to show. Point being, it's something that is unnecessary to a conventional force. If the bearded boys want automatic fire, let em' have it in their shorty, fire breathing M4's.
