Most of the month. I should be in around the 2nd week of December, then I'll head out again after Christmas for Texas. Gotta knock out a few interviews and what not.
-
BTW- You coming home on Christmas leave there airborne? Trying to get some outdoor range time if you wanna join in.

The AR platform is pretty awesome in that reguard. Granted, I'm still in love with the M1A/M14 platform, but I'm so used to the M16/M4/AR family of Stoner's rifles, it would be stupid not to own one. My M4 I'm about to turn in shortly was brand new out of the box when I got it in January. At most, it has 400 rounds through it. I coat my bolt and buffer in RemOil, and it runs like a champ. I do the same with my M9 even with the shitty mags, it runs without failure.

About time Anthony. I knew you wanted one after shooting mine Might have to get you a brass catcher, so your body isn't covered in 5.56 burns. BTW, here's where I pick up my ammo at: http://www.palmettostatearmory.com Find a day in December to shoot, I'm trying to pick up some steel targets, just need an outdoor range to zero a few rifles in.

It's not just the "Radicals" that go ape shit BTW. Experience the Middle East and you'll see.

Kabul sucks an unholy donkey's dick though. It's a NATO/ISAF cluster fuck run by the Turkish. On a brighter note, atleast the Marines in Helmand grew a pair of nuts and getting some M1 Abrams to their area.

Welcome to Sharia Law, which 90%+ of the Middle East follows due to the fact they are Muslim countries. Be glad you're an American.

Those were both my buddies shooting. They were a bit of a handful when flipped to AUTO, but controlled pair groups and other drills are effortless.

Good ol' 12B Combat Engineer, but thanks to this PSD job I got, I get to do a lot of networking and all around cool shit. Perks of the job

I'm picky for the most part, but it's mostly preference. I think the best part to the LMT I bought is the ability to swap barrels with ease. I have a 14.5" sitting at the house aswell. My stock of 5.56 is mostly M855 green tip NATO, but I have some 55 grain sitting around aswell. I'd say most of the AR's on the market are quality pieces, but when I went out for another AR, I wanted the best.

Got to shoot a new batch of weapons I've never had the opportunity to shoot while on my vacation in Afghanistan. German MG3 Machine Gun (7.62X51mm chambered NOW, but is a new version of the MG42 used in WWII. YES, it's still a buzz saw. 1,000-1,200 Rounds Per Minute, it is pretty fun) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs935.snc4/74889_1698653389522_1333510790_31836740_7402905_n.jpg H&K G36 http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs985.snc4/75875_1700349871933_1333510790_31841885_287450_n.jpg Got to shoot these and get my Schutzenschnur aka German Marksmanship badge. Now.........SBR FUN TIME! http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs931.snc4/74462_167966199897786_100000532208351_485962_2083039_n.jpg Yes, that is Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush fighting Terrorism! That is all for now.

AR15.com is the only online forum I can think of worth a damn, but a lot of stuff needs to be taken with a grain of salt. M4carbine.net is another forum, but if you get a chance to pick up some of the AR only editions of Guns and Ammo, they're usually pretty good and full of goodies. No problem in letting you shoot my rifles, just saying if you shoot my LMT you'll fall in love. It's not stock per say, but I'll let you toss some M855 through it. As far as assembly and building one, I'm not joking when I say youtube has probably 100,000 videos on that very subject.

For the money, that Delton isn't a bad rifle at all from what I've always heard. It's a bang for your buck rifle. I don't know of anyone with a STAG personally, but I'd lean towards the Delton. I bought an LMT MRP earlier this year, and it's the best AR on the market personally. Here's a few products from LMT - http://www.impactguns.com/store/lmt.html Basically the same rifle I own- http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1039 If this helps any, all the short (10.5") M4's around Afghanistan are about 90% LMT's if that tells you who their big customer is. The civilian side deffinately wins thanks to LMT being a large supplier to the Military.

If I get some time to hit the range, I'll let you shoot some of my AR's. Personally, I look for is if it is a MILSPEC rifle. What this means is chrome lined bore, 1:7 twist barrel (so you can shoot heavier rounds, a TRUE 5.56X45mm chamber (So you can fire NATO ammo), and the bolt itself. Companies like Daniel Defense, Noveske, S&W, Colt, and a favorite of mine LMT. $1,500 will score you a very nice rifle to be honest. Personally, the gas piston thing isn't an issue for me, the direct impingement works great. There's plenty out there, but these are some of the higher quality rifles. If you want to learn more about AR's, it wouldn't be hard to piece one together and save a little money. Added benefit of buying the lower/upper separate is you can save a little cash and get what you want.

You should change the title to: Gas operated, magazine fed, semi-automatic rifle. Assault Rifle is such a liberal term, unless you really assault someone with it....

Need to get you a lefty eject Hot brass makes Anthony dance.

Not to sound like a dick, but educate yourself on the AR15 before buying one (Operation, field stripping, clearing procedures, and where to lube it). Being a cherry to that rifle, it may send you for a small loop. Remember, if you go cheap, you'll get cheap. Buy good ammo, good magazines, and keep it lubed.

Christmas what are you getting your kids?

I'm glad it is in good hands. Smoothest shotgun I've ever put rounds through. Have to say I need to pick a 590A1 though. It makes me smile when I see this: http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a391/m24shooter/100_0517.jpg

I've had Mossbergs and a Benelli. Personally, I kick my own ass for selling the Benelli, but I didn't really need it at the time. My personal experiences with Mossbergs for the most part has been related with the Army. We used the M500's for our "door knockers" and they ran flawlessly. Unlike the some of the civilian models, ours had a metal trigger guard and safety. Kicked like a mule when knocking door hinges off with a pistol grip, but that was its only job, minus if I didn't have time to transition after entering a house. As Austin said, word on the block is the new Remington 870's have had a few issues. From what I've heard, they're worried about numbers and not the quality like they used to. I plan to pick an 870 up from a pawn shop to be sent to Wilson Combat for their Remington Steal package. I think bang for buck, the Mossberg 590A1 is a steal (The M500's for that matter aswell). Granted, I've been interested in Winchester's Defender X. Did a little read up on them, and from what I've read, the Winchesters are rock solid. Not to mention they chrome line their bores like Benelli does. It's almost like a Chevy VS Ford debate when it comes down to Mossberg VS Remington. I'm used to the Mossbergs, but I like the action of the Remingtons. Like most weapons, there is a slew of tacticool goodies for both if you're headed that direction with it.

You should be able to score an S&W 5900 series for the $300 range if not cheaper. Hell a Keltec P3AT, or a Ruger LCP might be something worth while in the .380 range. I just bought the LCR of here in .38 Special for $380.

There's an Afghan Army commander that looks exactly like that, minus the wifebeater.
