it will be running this fall. i want to get it running and the carbs sync'd while it still a little warmer out. It had a K&N drop in when i bought it but im not sure if the kid who put it in knew you had to re jet it if you wanted it to run right so im not sure if the original jets are in it. i put an OEM filter in it since it has OEM exhaust.
thanks! I hate rubber boots on bikes. The boots from the carb to cylinder were so easy to slip the carbs onto. I cant wait to see it all done in person too!! HAHAHA
i did heat them up. lol. these weer the hardest thing ive ever had to put on a motorcycle. Took like 3 hours and more patience than ive ever had not to grenade the whole bike, LOL.
Getting the rubber from the air.box over the carbs. If there was only 2 of them I could've got them without the ratchet strap. I had the ratchet strap attached to some tarp straps so I couldn't tighten it down too much and break something. I had some silicon lube on the air box rubber to help it on too. I would tighten the strap a few clicks and wiggle the box to help everything slide on. I was also using a scribe with a 90 degree end on it to help the rubber get started onto the carbs.
This is what it took to get the air box on. Craziness... Finally got it!! Rear fender and tool kit box cleaned and mounted. Speed cable and clutch cable mounted.
Got a lot more done tonight. Wire harness is complete. That's the biggest part! Test fitted some plastic to make sure things fit correctly and something wasn't wrong.

I love the progress I am making on this bike. I got a lot done this weekend. got the throttle cables and the choke cable greased and hooked up. Wiring harness is almost done. Grips are on. Dash is on. All wiring connections have been greased. Rear fender is on, this is big bc it has a lot to do with getting the wiring harness complete. Should have it ready to fire up for the first time here in the next few months!!!!
Got a lot done today. Spent 3 hours cleaning the wiring harness and all the connections. Got the dash connections and ignition connections all done. The tail section requires the rear fender to be installed and I'm waiting on some bolts I ordered Saturday to come in. https://fbcdn-photos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t1.0-0/10177392_10152702823193360_453403795469313853_n.jpg?oh=a70734c9c669cf535cee5abf230e7cfd&oe=54C7A835&__gda__=1422001854_e84128091e1fd8f68239c28d07903aad[/img
Got the carbs on today. Yesterday I got the clutch master cylinder rebuilt and slave cylinder cleaned. Stainless clutch line is on and just needs bled. I have to figure out how the clutch cable was routed. Should be in the service manual.
finally got some oil in the bike! got the holes drilled and tapped for the spool/sliders. the sliders wont work as the mufflers are the sliders, lol. but i got them for next to nothing, like 5 bucks, and they are brand new 8mm SME that we had leftover at the shop. Im working on cleaning the clutch reservoir and slave cylinder and getting that installed and bled
Exhaust finished up, radiator, thermostat housing, coolant piping, and oil cooler mounted along with the radiator and oil cooler guard. Im hoping to get someting cool designed as a custom radiator grille that i will have laser cut and powdercoated.
well i ran into a few issues in the past month that took some time but i finally got around to doing something this weekend. Unfortunately right when i started getting some things done, i got pulled off for other things and drinking. Putting the OEM exhaust on the bike is by far a 2 man job but its on! Im wathcing for dual OEM busa mufflers to go on sale online b/c i hate these small/round mufflers. I dont want aftermarket b/c i want it quiet. Im not going for power.
