^^no....it fucking doesn't. This is an actual car/racing film made by a great director. This is going to be a great film.

Welcome, I always liked turbo Buicks
-
Good luck with the sale Matt!
-
Don't like it. Wheels look like poop.

Broad St by Lowes.

Black wheels are so 1998

Very cool Matt. Hopefully it gets the car sold and onto the new project!

This is really tempting, and I'm looking for a new family hauler that can tow the FD to the track, but I don't think i'm going to be ready to pull the trigger by this weekend. Good luck with the sale.

Sometimes having the coach there with you helps a lot more than just reading the book, even though that's one of the best out there for cara or bikes. Warning about tracking the FD: it will make tracking the bike look minimal in expense terms.

Spending money on continuing the track habit is up to you as to how serious you want to be with the habit. I'm never going to even amateur race cars but it doesn't mean that I don't want to become a better driver, so I get instruction whenever I can. Look into attending one of the Keith Code schools if you want more personalized instruction without having to pay to hire a one-on-one coach. It sounds like you need to figure out if its worth continuing the track habit and the costs and time involved there. If not then sell it and enjoy other hobbies.

I rode for 10 years and worked at a motorcycle dealership which started just as a way to get discounted parts..haha. So I was pretty deep into the life. I first got on road courses with bikes and still love that experience. My falling out with the sport/life was that just about all if my friends that I rode with started getting out of it so I was mostly riding on my own. That's fine on the street but takes some of the fun out of doing track days when you're on your own. So then it was a street bike and I was tracking my M3 instead. As you said, riding on the street presents quite a few risks and I found myself more upset with the hazards of riding on the road. I specifically remember getting the bike out one afternoon that I had off and LOVING it and thinking I'd been crazy to think about selling it...not 10 minutes later a lady in a minivan pulled out right in front of me and I barely missed t-boning into the side of her. That was pretty much the end. My FD is essentially my motorcycle now in that its used on weekends and at the track. While I think about bikes from time to time I don't regularly miss it and I'm happy with my choice.

Here's what would have been my best lap of the weekend if I hadn't gotten the checkers and lifted at the end. Something goofy was going on with my data logger where it out the start/finish line at the end of the front straight. Not sure if it had to so with us entering pit lane there instead of the other option by start/finish or what was going on there. Never had that issue before. Data and video can be very helpful as a learning tool as in looking at this I've already got a quick hit list of things to work on at the next day. I need to stay further left on the track at 10b so I can straighten up the approach to 11, drive harder up the hill to 8, and be smoother with my transition from brake to turning at turn 1. I'm also going to experiment with going down to 2nd in the keyhole and possibly carousel.

Here's some video of the GT3 running away.

I'm long overdue for this, but as usual Derek and the team at Tire Discounters in Reynoldsburg have been doing great. Over the past few months I've had a set of tires mounted on brand new rims, tires dismounted/flipped/remounted on another set of wheels, an oil change, and a custom alignment done. All work was performed flawlessly. It's the same great service as NTB downtown, but with a new cleaner store with fancy new equipment. That drive-on alignment rack is awesome.

I have about 45 seconds of you running away from me.

for the most part people in the advanced group were good on pointing. Had a couple of miatas that were slow to do so, but I also give them a bit of slack because they do have a lot of cars that catch them down the straights and then park in the corners. This gentleman in the CTS-V I've been at track days before with and he doesn't really like to point by, and really likes to show how fast his car is down the straight...which it is. I don't think my car is a slouch but I get straight walked down the back straight by this guy. DISCLAIMER: do not drive in this manner at a HPDE, I only put some pressure on this guy because I swear he must enjoy it as it's the only way he'll let me past.

AGREED. You can even call your buddy and while on the phone say you're standing in front of a S2000 that someone beefed (although I still don't recommend), but there is nothing worse than going up and taking cell phone pics to post on fakebook.
-
It's in my signature. It just looks a lot crappier in person. Hahahahaha. Ill try to chop up some video and post it when possible. Not sure if I want to show the interaction with the CTS-V as it was borderline inappropriate on all accounts. I seemed to also catch some melee all around where I was running with one of the Auto Interests guys in a Civic that went a little hot and went all 4 off

Clay, in my experience a similar move would bring a small jump in base salary along with a much larger incentive/variable opportunity based on performance.

Morning was disappointing but thems the breaks. My NT-01s are down to just the 2 center grooves left so no downpour driving for me. I drove the first session of the afternoon and it was still pretty sketchy for those tires but was better after that. At least the weather held out in the afternoon and made for some dry fun (as long as you avoided the puddle in 9)
-
Got a little soggy loading the car tonight but it'll be fun regardless.
-
You didn't mention sizes, but I have a set of 235/40-17s Falken azenis 615s.

The only time that Mid Ohio is going to stop people going on track is if the weather gets really rough and dangerous. I've personally driven there in snow (April track days are a crap shoot), fog, and rain without too much issue. Mid Ohio is pretty slick when wet, but it's also breezy up there and it usually dries very fast. Just dial things back and leave a little extra margin and you'll really enjoy yourself in the wet there.

As long as everyone keeps a good head on their shoulders and checks their mirrors then 30 per group isn't a problem.
