  1. I was gonna ride up and say hi at Shell then head on to work since I had to be there at 8. Weather said it would start storming around 1am and I was off at 2, so decided to just drive in. Well, I finally left at 3am and it started spitting rain. By the time I was half way home it was pissing down to the point I couldn't see the road! Glad I didn't ride my bike. Sounds like you guys had a good time tho! Maybe next week!
  2. Let Us PRAY The motorcycle is my shepherd; I shall not want. It maketh me burnout on black pavements; It leadeth me beside busy freeways; It restoreth my soul; It leads me in the path of quickness for its names sake. Though I walk through the valley of rice, I shall fear no turbo, for Torque art with me; Thy clutch and thy throttle they comfort me. Thou preparest a Track for me in the presense of mine enemies; Thou hast anointed my engine with oil; My bike overpowers. Surely traction and victory shall follow me, All the days of my life, And I shall dwell in the house of the CC's, Forever. Amen (I didn't mean to offend anyone with this, just having a laugh.)
  3. I sat on a GSXR600? that was lowered 2 inches and I was flat footed. I'm 5'2" and on my toes/balls of my feet on my 250. It will probably be my next bike.
  4. I know where you're coming from there, CBRgirl! But I guess since we bought our bikes instead of a honeymoon we should use them as much as possible huh?

Hey, Mr Bret and I live in Westerville if you want to ride!
  6. Hi there! Welcome!
  7. I'm hoping to go, but have to drive down to Georgia the following week so will have to see about money and if I want to do that much driving in a week!
  8. Sorry hubby, missed that bit
  9. If anyone is interested ppl from motogirlz and riderforum are meeting up at Iron Pony at 10 this morning. No specific plans yet but lots ppl coming from out of town. I'm sure it it's not everybody that some will be up for a ride. Sorry for short notice, didn't know details til this morning.
  10. Ok, so it's not in Ohio but I wanted to put this out there---> The second annual women's sportbike rally at Deal's Gap in NC is the weekend of Aug 24-26. Men are welcome as long as they are with a girl. Sounds like fun! Here's the site for more info. www.womenssportbikerally.com
  11. What he forgot to add is that normal price is $16.99 to get in but there is a group deal for 4 ppl where you get the 4's of everything he mentioned and it's only $20 per person for all of it and then $20 for every person after that. It would be a trip down I-71 then some country road driving. It's really a lot of fun!
  12. And I thought I had a bad day! Glad you're ok. I have to say, a lot of ppl on here who talk about their crashes start out by saying, "I was going __mph and then..." meaning they were being a fool on the bike. But it sounds like your close calls all day were from other drivers being stupid and maybe some dumb luck! Oh except for the whole wheelie thing, but anyways... Hope you heal up and get back out there soon!
  13. Cool! I made the cover!? Didn't know I could ride so well! ~250bunny (AKA Karla)
  14. Ok, so back to the subject of this thread... It would be cool to get together as a group more often. Doesn't have to be every week or even every month, but it's riding season so it makes sense to get together and have some fun!
  15. Hey, it was nice meeting you up at Kickstand. Welcome to the forum. Nice choice for your bike, by the way!
  16. Man! That sucks! Glad you're ok! Rest up and you'll be back out there in no time!
  17. My bike was brand new, had only had it out twice. It wouldn't start without the choke full on without stalling. When the bike was upright, it would idle rough with the choke on, stall with the choke off and when it was put on the kick stand the engine would rev. This was all happening with less than 40 miles on it. I took it back to the dealer and they changed the plug and cleaned the carb and now it runs great. Don't even need the choke and it idles great...and the same way whether it's upright or not!
  18. My bike is new so I'm just running it in. I've been out a few times in parking lots and subdivisions getting used to it. Today I took it out to run some errands, close by and not too much speed needed due to traffic. Afterward Bret and I headed out of town to ride up on the less traffic roads and it was nice to finally get out and ride. I still have to keep it under 4000 revs so I'm only going about 35. It's gonna take forever to put 500 miles on it!!! We went about 40 miles today and I'm still just under 100. So if anyone's looking for a leisurely (slow) ride with a newbie, let me know. I'm feeling a bit more comfortable on the bike now so hopefully a few more of the long rides on country roads will get the milage up. Just remember if you see the slow Ninja, it's just me trying to run her in. Hopefully we'll be up to speed soon!
  19. I need a silver one please!
  20. Hi, I'm Karla (yep, the same one Mr Bret is talking about) from Westerville (near Columbus). I'm new to riding, just got my '07 250 Ninja and am getting on well. I was the one passenger out on the ride 6/16. My engine hasn't been run in yet so can't go normal traffic speed (what's that, right?) so I just rode with Bret. It was nice to meet so many of you. I hope we can get together more often. Working most weekends will get in the way but we'd like to get out and ride with others as often as we can. Hope everyone had a good time on the scavenger hunt, wish we could have joined you. Hope to see you again soon!
