OMG!!! We were down in Georgia over the weekend for a friend's wedding. If you ever are down there and have your bike, turn around and go back north!!! I think this is where snails come from! I'm all for a relaxing vacation but this was painfully slow. And it wasn't just old ppl either, it was everybody!!! There were long, open roads where the speed limit was 50 and they would hardly be doing 40. We didn't take the bikes and never will. Don't think we'll ever return to that area ever again! And the roads?! No matter where you are, which way you turn, you're either on route 17, 25 or sometimes both! All the ppl we met down there were clueless. It was like being on another planet! They were all so confused! It wasn't just the driving that was slow. It rained and stormed the whole weekend so that made it that much worse. But I never thought I'd ever say this but it's nice to be back in sunny Ohio!

Hope you all had a fun ride! We would have loved to come but were down in Georgia for a wedding and it rained the WHOLE weekend. Luckily we didn't take the bikes! Guess we missed an entire weekend of great riding weather! Maybe next time!

2 types of riders and I was the one who fell down!

Heard someone had gone down, but didn't know details. Glad to hear you're ok! -
So glad to hear he's ok. Hope he's back riding soon!

Welcome to the board! I'm from Toledo originally, well, Monclova really. We head up from time to time. Would like to meet up with some TSBR members sometime.

Excuse me but if you read my latest post on this thread you would see that I was unaware of the law therefore was unable to respect it, thus complained, not cried like a baby. However, you cannot tell me that you have no negative feelings when you are ticketed, regardless of the offense.

...6 pages later... Gee, I was just expecting a "man, that sucks" response but glad that I could give you guys something to chat about. I now know that it's probably best to use my visor at all times and appreciate the corrections. Ok, I put this thread on here because honestly I didn't know it was the law to have eye protection. I have just recently gone thru the MSF course and gotten my motorcycle license. Once home from the ride I was unable to find anything in the book you study for your permit or the book from the MSF course that having eye protection is the law. (Please don't post quotes if you find it) However, you can see from this thorough debate that the law is unclear (+/- windscreen, etc) Not knowing it was the law at the time, it really did seem like harrassment - pulling over a sport bike rider whom we thought was riding totally within the law. Yes, we are glad he only gave the rider a warning. The cop was much cooler about the whole thing than he had to be, but it just seemed like a silly initial reason to stop him. I'm not a cop hater and understand the importance of this law. I also know that when cops are bored, they check little things out. Had a cop pull in when I was practicing slow manuevers in a church parking lot at 2am. It was suspicious, I understand that. Turns out he's a fellow rider and was totally cool about it. Stopped by a cop in Westerville at 1am b/c I had a headlight out (in my truck). Two more cops pulled in behind him to see what was up. Kinda overkill! Now how about a group hug?

I usually start out with my visor up when it's real hot until something hits me in the face and I put it down. I've had the same "damn, that woulda hurt" feeling several times!

...Goes of to re-read motorcycle operator manual to make sure she doesn't do anything else that's against a stupid law and reminds herself to either look like or

Dude! Whose side are you on?! J/K!

The law says it's required if you don't have a windshield, doesn't say how high the windshield has to be. But, even if it is law, it's still real dumb! Is it a law that you can't have your window open while driving a car? Or that you can't pay more attention to your kids in the back seat instead of watching where the hell you're going? And of course the guy who passed us going the other way with NO gear (nor did he passenger have any) was totally legal? Think they need to pay more attention to those riders! I understand the reasoning but last I checked they can't pull over a driver JUST for not wearing their seatbelt either. He should have had a more valid reason!

I found this on another forum. Now, I'm a chic but I still think this is a little crazy! I understand the first part, not having common interests and all, but the second part is just wrong! Just think how demanding she'll be if they get married!!! She's either way hot or he's a real loser! I have dated Riders and Non-Riders. And all I can say is dating non-riders drives me frigg'n INSANE sometimes because they just "don't get it." I even had a boyfriend for 4 years and one of the main reasons we broke up was because he didn't ride. (More like he'd been saying for 4 years he was gonna start and never got around to it, so I dumped him for someone that rode... ) Anyway, Aidan and I started dating exclusively in the end of April. And one of the stipulations of exclusivity was that he had 6 months to take the MSF and get a motorcycle. We even shook hands on it. Honestly, my past experience led me to believe I'd be single again at the end of October. Well, I'm happy to report that his butt is in the MSF classroom right now as I type.

This really is bullshit!!! Some cops really have nothing better to do. Tonight, myself and two other riders were riding thru Worthington on 23. At one point there was a sherriff in front of us so we kept it to the speed limit. He turned off so we sped up a bit, but I was in front, so knowing how bored the cops are there, I was keeping it close to the limit. Soon after the sherriff turned I realized another cop (from Sharon Township, wherever the hell that is!) in front of the car in front of me. He moved over to the next lane. At the light at Wilson Bridge, Bret and I were in the lane on the cop's driver's side but behind the car next to him. Stefan pulled up in the next lane next to us and directly behind the cop. As soon as we got to 270 on 23, he pulled over and as soon as Stefan went past, he pulled back in and turned his lights on. We were totally going the limit, all had all our gear on. The reason he gave for stopping him was that his visor was up! He only gave him a warning, but c'mon is that really a reason to stop someone?!?!

Oh yeah... let the dog sit with the mixture on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing.

There's a product called "Skunk Off" which may be the product you've already used. It gets most of the smell away, but there's always that hint that sticks around. You can also try this recipe to bathe your dog: 1 Quart 3percent Peroxide 1/4 Cup Baking Soda 1 teaspoon liquid soap Mild soap like Ivory is best for dogs but in this case you may want to use something like Dawn with a degreaser to help get the stuff off. If you use the degreaser, the dog's skin might get dry so I'd wash again with a doggie shampoo in about a week. Not sure what to tell you about the house. Maybe try Febreeze? Good luck! If it doesn't work, just bring out the beer bong again and you might not care!

Hi Fire! Welcome! MrBret and I are in Westerville too. Give us a shout if you wanna ride!

The Honda polish cleaned the oily stuff off the exhaust. What took the scuff marks off was the Goo Gone. It was scuffed from my boots and I guess the rubber kinda cooked onto it when it heated up. But last night I used the goo gone as soon as I got home while the exhaust was still hot and it came of in seconds. Polished up real nice with the Honda stuff tho. Nice! Thanks! I'm off to clean Bret's bike now! LOL

Uh, sorry, man! Yeah, TC translates to TB which translates to Taco Bell!
-
I just found out from Bret, dunno where he found it, google search, I think. It's a good group! Thanks for putting the site together!
-
So is TC just part of the ride or does this guy work there? Which TC are you talking about?
-
So I'm trying to clean up my bike. Right now I'm just wiping her down with a wet cloth then with a dry cloth and that seems to be working on the faring etc. Mostly just removing general dust, dirt, bugs. Is there a better way to do this? What I'm really wondering, is what is the best thing for cleaning the exhaust pipes? They just have some oily stuff on them plus some scuffs from my boots. I have the GooGone stuff that I used to remove the sticker residue from the faring but didn't know if that was ok on the metal. Thx!
