  1. Not sure what your return policy is, but check it out. Might have 30 day satisifaction etc where you can return it...minus shipping. Mac's wouldn't crash or have compatibility issues as much as pc's, but software is more limited and its a slightly different layout.

I build my own so I rarely deal with all that BS of prebuilt stuff thats going to take a crap all the time. (well, mostly!) :D /evil eye EVGA Mb! But bios update fixed most of it with some tweaks.

  2. are you riding Sunday, or just staying Saturday night to avoid driving all night?

$130 + gas isn't bad at all, considering I'd get to ride in November for once...

I am riding on Saturday & Sunday in Novice. I am heading down Friday and spending the night down there Fri & Sat night and driving back Sunday after the trackday concludes. I made a reservation at a hotel and got the garage reserved also. 1st one also! So I got prime pick :D

  3. If you want a good ride and don't mind some saddle time. Head down 772 South from Chilly to 220 West/124 West. Follow 124 West into Hillsboro. Can get some food and gas and decide what to do there. You can either follow 138/28 back East to Chilly keep going up 134 to Wilmington and back.

If you want to mock it off your last ride. Take 772 down to 73 up to Hillsboro, then 124/220 back East to 772 North.

  4. Its $127.50/day and I had to get the membership this time around. According to google its about a 8-9Hr drive down. I am planning on leaving Friday about noon from my house in Canal Winchester. I have a double rail trailer that works pretty well and have taken several bikes up to Mid Ohio.

Heres an E-mail I got back from Mark Sheldon (Director for Southern events)

CMP is a long flowing course about 2 miles in length, surface is good and not too hard on your tires. You can rent a garage with electric like at Mid-Ohio big enough for four bikes for $50.00 a day from the track, otherwise the pit area is grass with electric available. STT South Instructors will cover this event and they are very good as we taught all of the Northern Instructors.

    Hope to see you thee!

  5. Nov 21 & 22

I finally pulled the trigger on this one and signed up for the weekend with STT. Just thought I'd post if anyone else was looking at it or would want to go down since I will have trailer room for one. I will be staying down there for Fri/Sat night and coming back Sunday

  6. Mid Ohio Policy-Advanced and Intermediate riders must safety wire drain plugs and oil fill caps. Minimum requirement is RTV silicone on both. We highly suggest securing the oil filter as well.

STT Policy-10) Added for 2009 season: Advanced riders are required to safety wire drain plugs and oil fil caps if possible. Minimum requirement is RTV silicone on both. We highly suggest securing the oil filter as well. NOTE: If you spill oil on the track your day is over.

  7. I have thursday off. If someone does not have a guest to go with them I will be your huckleberry. i also have a trailer for transport. If I don't make it to the track and if someone needs to borrow the trailer (RFM) contact me.

    Nick

I don't have one, but taking RFM with me so not sure how much room will be left in the truck. Let me know if you want to work something out.

  8. One thing I noticed is that it doesn't do well in darker lights. You can get about 45-50min of Video on a 2Gb SD card also. (Track tested and approved) :D Anyways, I got the suctioncup mount and it ends up still vibrating way to much for my liking. So I used tiedowns and tightened it down to my steering stabilizer to keep it from moving at all. I also used the M3 mounts. (1 on windscreen, 1 on tail end) Both work pretty well, but you will get some vibration, but nothing too bad. High speed travel with give the video a warping effect for some reason also. Not sure if the camera can't keep up with the images or what. Over all, I love mine for what it gives me and the price I paid.

I also use Windows Movie Maker to cut/edit and compress the files down.

Is it easy to start/stop the camera with gloves on? I'm thinking of getting one..but I'm not sure the 'behind the windshield' spot is where I want to put it.

Its very simple to operate. There were times at Mid O that I forgot to start it all and got it going on the back stretch or around the track. Press the front (power) button to turn it on, then top button to record. Turning it off is simply holding the power button for 2 seconds.

Nate has a post where he was messing with mounts and had some great spots if you want more examples.

  9. Knight or Thompson is always a good top brand to pick from. Thompson Omega/Encore is a good pick, but it all comes down to what you want to spend....just like anything else.
