I live in Portage county, so I normally go to Ravenna

after getting raped for $35 just to register my bike for this year and being irritated that I'd have to take the written test again, only to get a permit with restrictions on it that I have never really followed.... I didn't get a new permit today wonder if I should really go do it or just try and act shocked that my old one EXPIRED? THEY EXPIRE?

my stupid permit is expired and I don't have a suitable bike for the test anyone with a small bike or dual sport I could borrow cheap?

I've never done it before but was told some dealers would simply swap the shims out as long as they were legible, which would save me from buying a kit.

Just walk in and make a trade for the sizes needed? I have heard of some dealers doing this, which is awesome. I need to plan out a valve adjustment for my ZRX and I'm debating if I want to buy shims in advance or just try to get them at a dealer or swap them out with someone helpful. Thanks.

Alright so I didn't go on this ride (might have been a good thing, I don't know) but here's what I would advise. #1 - Never try to ride above your ability level, especially on the street #2 - Don't get offended if you don't feel like you are keeping up unless it is stated that it is bothering someone. If they leave you in the dust and you never see them again, get offended. If they aren't giving you shit about your pace, they probably don't care and don't mind waiting for you. #3 - Discuss the pace of the ride either here on OR or in person before starting it. People should know what to expect, and splitting into 2 smaller, more fitting groups, could be appropriate. #4 - Don't call people names on the internet, it only makes you look foolish. State your point as an adult and people will respect your opinion. #5 - If at any point you aren't enjoying yourself on a group ride, take off on your own, wind down, and enjoy yourself. There's no reason to continue following someone while angry, hell you'll probably increase your chances of hurting yourself 10 fold while doing so. #6 - If you are leading a group and find yourself riding above the skill level of others in the group, be the nice guy and ASK what they think about the pace, or give some directions and suggest a meeting place in the distance that everyone can find. I don't know, just a few suggestions off the top of my head to try and avoid stupid stuff like this from happening again because nobody needs to come on OR and make enemies, we all love and enjoy the same hobby....

you don't HAVE to be on the bike to get it off the centerstand.... you just have to be able to control it .... which can be easy or hard depending on the weight of the bike! Ninja 250... no prob..... anything larger, good luck!

the lady was turning left from the opposite direction and despite whatever speed they were traveling at, probably turned in front of them when she shouldn't have this happens ALL THE TIME unfortunately (as I'm sure all of you know, many, if not all, personally)

I don't think the SV has changed enough to justify getting another one a few years newer but aren't all of the 1000's in the "S" riding position? not sure if that's a concern for you or not not a lot of naked vtwins to choose from unfortunately

I sold my 98 Ninja 250 last summer, it had like 12k miles then or something like that, needed a rear tire pretty bad, but was in nice shape. A kid came all the way from Buffalo to buy it for $1700. I had bought it the previous summer with like 3k less miles and brand new tires, for $1400 - it's all about being a smart seller, and finding the person who is looking for exactly what you have. It was a very nice bike that really had 0 issues and it wasn't hard to sell at all.

oh ya I'm alive, haven't been here in a little while, life gets busy and I forget about 2 wheelers when the snow is flying.... eventually the sun comes out and I remember I own one and start thinking about riding it again
