So just got an email today about this event. Sounds cool if you don't have a bike to take to the track and really want to try it out. "KTM "ARRIVE AND RIDE" dates are coming to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course! KTM, the official motorcycle of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and The Mid-Ohio School, will host two track day sessions on Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course late this spring and mid-summer. The first will be held Thursday, May 28, 2009, and the second will take place Wednesday, July 15, 2009. These sessions, dubbed KTM Race_Orange Track Days, are unique as KTM 990 Super Duke motorcycles will be provided exclusively for each participant to ride. The fuel, tires and other necessary maintenance throughout the day will all be handled by KTM. This is the first public event of its kind to be hosted at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, creating an opportunity for riders to get on track without the need to transport their bikes to the facility. That’s right ….. no matter your location, whether you travel by air or drive to Mid-Ohio, you can just show up and ride the KTM 990 Super Duke around the track! Riders will be split into three groups that will ride in multiple 20 minute sessions throughout the day. The first two will be "sport" groups, consisting of novice and intermediate riders and the final "super sport" group will encompass more advanced intermediate and advanced riders. The cost of the event is $195 per person. Spaces are limited to 60 riders per event, so sign up fast as they’ll go fast! Enroll on The Mid-Ohio School’s website at www.midohioschool.com or call 877-793-8667!"

Burkhart and gibson are the exception fron d12.it does sound like a lot has changed up there in the last 6 years though to have that many quad classes..changing times changing tracks..as for d11 we are the fastest district in the nation with southern cali a close 2nd..which is why there really weren't too many quad classes at our races..d12 prob jus has more interested up there..like I said I'm not anti quads, jus justifing bike riders reasoning to not wanting to ride same track w them..
-
Quads create a much wider rut and generaly when coming out of corners will be sliding sideways, therefore making the ruts impossible for a bike to follow. Not only did I race pro for many years, including malvern in my amature days, but I own 2 tracks and the maintaince isn't worth the time and effort for 2 quad classes when there are 28 bike classes..I'm not against quads, jus not a fan of them on the same days as ama races..district 12 was always a joke anyhow so any rider there complaining was just whining bc they couldn't make the nationals from dist 11

Damn Recon u did ur homework! haha

Sweet, there are plenty of girls on here that are excellent riders and always happy to have more diversity at the events

Mystic black/purple.. kaw used to put it on a couple bike back in 2000.. loved it.. it would be midnight black at night and mettalic in the sun, plus hid all dirt!
-
I most def would do this.. did it at the fair once and came within inches of the top of the arc when on the rebound of the first swing.. i guess its the name travis or something.. most of us are born without a few wires in the brain connecting to logic! lol

Check out the thread for our ride at hocking hills in may.. if u are serious about the twisties, this will be a good one. and welcome!

Tentatively sold to Kuenker86

Ok so the bike comes first, and I need to get her running again, so i'm gonna have to sell the gun. Walther P99 .40 Purchased at Vances $600 $400 obo No Trades because I need cash to fix the bike. It has all paperwork, origanal case, 2 clips, a trigger lock, masterlock, 2 extra grips, and i'll throw in a cleaning kit, and shooting glasses as well as ear protection. I almost forgot the belt holster.. Ampedextrious clip release, and double trigger..

Crazyness.. BTW ASK Columbus' (not grovetucky) service dept has a fucking asshole service manager. we took my rectifier down there to have them test it and the asshole said he wouldn't do it unless i brought him the whole bike and he did the diagnostic, not us. i mean in the manual it says there is a kaw tester specificly for the rectifier when its off the bike, and that dick was like no, u dont need to be touching the bike, only a kaw dealership should be servicing it. glad we only have 1 fucking kaw dealership in the area
-
So we got my bike torn apart today and the stator is def fried.. hopefully the rectifier is still ok but tests will tell.. Soo.. why did this happen to a 2 year old bike.. i have stock lights on my bike, and there are no bad connections or wires anywhere!

no lube in the world will help a cheese wheel! lol

Ive heard arguments on both sides about the proper way to break it in.. Some people dont ride it any different and some go by the manual and ive heard of good and bad from both sides.. the racers dont need a break in because like u said they rebuild them often. when i used to race supercross my bikes got new rings every 5 races and a piston every 10-15 so there was no point. some manuals say to keep it under 55 mph or whatever but then people go out and ride on the highway at a constant rpm and the rings dont really get much movement in the cylinder, soo the first time u go out after u think its broke in and hit a rpm above whatever u did during break in, its all new territory for the rings and time wasted. i recommend riding at at various speeds and rpm's for the first 500 miles keeping the rpm's under 8,000. when i say under 8,000 that doesnt mean holding it at 8,000, that means that u can shift through the gears up to 8,000. the point of the break in is to allow the ring or rings(however many ur bike has) to seat themselves in the cylinder sleeve before extreme heat from high rpm's damage them and makes a gap between the two, causing a loss of compression. The second 500 miles you can get closer to your redline while riding(NOT REVVING W/O LOAD), as long as you dont hold it there. The first oil change is between 800-1000 miles because all engines during break-in will produce a little bit of shavings, etc that will end up in the oil.. thats why it needs changed so soon. Just take a trip on some scenic roads across ohio and that will help out with getting the break-in miles out of the way. my first 500 were done in 2 days by riding up to mohican forest on scenic highways that way i had some corners with various speeds so i didnt get bore out of my mind

I would say get the fuck away after like his 3rd glance before he even gets a thought about sittin on it.. unless it was someone u work with, then that gets tricky..
