  1. Thanks Tyler, that's a good ballpark. I located my bro and he will bring his tester by to give it a go.
  2. If it were a clogged jet, wouldn't it fire on a direct ether injection? When I pulled the carb off, there was fuel on the cylinder side of the carb.
  3. Yeah, makes sense. My bro has a gauge to check that. Any idea what the comp. should be?
  4. I have KTM 50 Adventure senior. 2 stroke mini mx bike. Bike ran when I parked it. Now it won't start. Getting fuel, getting spark.Won't even fire on ether. Little bastard is just dead. Compression seems fine, not tested. Pull the plug and kick it, I see spark against the head. I even shot ether directly in the cylinder and replaced the plug...not a hint of fire... I'm baffled... What gives? Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  5. I'll definitely do some events. Hopefully this year. I'll spend a little time on the bike then whip it out. I just ordered a new rear tire , hopefully once I get that mounted I'll be ready. I bought the bike without riding it, and still haven't. Can't wait though. I've wanted to get into trials for 20 years and finally took the plunge.
  6. Thanks for the replies. I did bicycle trials for a few years, anxious to see how that relates to the vintage bike I bought. Problem is I live in a city setting with no where to ride. I will definitely do some events, but need to at least ride the bike a little. I have a friend with some property who said I can take it there, but it remains to be seen if he will allow me to make some trials type obstacles.
  7. I just picked up a vintage trials bike at Mid Ohio VMD. Does anyone know, is there anywhere around here that has any trials type places to ride/practice?
  8. I am pretty easy to spot at the track, and I don't know any of you guys by sight. Please come up and introduce yourself, I'd like to meet some of you cats.
  9. Signed up for Intermediate. I'll be the slow guy on the Buell.Flip me off as you pass me on the back straight. I'll know it's you.
  10. Best of luck to you, and a hope for a speedy recovery. I was on the track behind you when it happened.I didn't see it, I was probably about at the kink when the accident occurred. I did see the plume of dust like a mushroom cloud though. Frightening.
  11. Thanks all. I bought the TrackMaster app. I'll see how that works.
  12. Anyone know of an app for my Droid phone that would keep lap times for me?
  13. Signed up tor the 6th. Intermediate on a Buell XB.
  14. Thanks. The HF bead breaker is in my sights. Since I'll be doing it in the garage, I think I can rig something with wood blocks to protect the rotors. The dyna beads look interesting. Do they move around in the tire? DO they re distribute themselves at every stop? Can you hear or feel them moving around?
  15. I am considering getting a bead breaker and changing tires myself. Any tips or pitfalls I should avoid> Also, how about balancing? Is it necessary? If so, how to do it at home? Thanks in advance.
  16. I'll be there. Intermediate on a Black Buell.
  17. I'll be there with my son. He more excited than a cedar point trip.
  18. 304 here. I always suspected that Obama is a wingnut.
  19. Another thing that is not going to be in HD's favor is the plethora of low miles mint condition used bikes in Garages. The ones all of my buddies bought off the showroom floor for 20 +K, and have ridden sparingly. It looks like alot of fun when Jesse James and that ogre from Orange County are riding and acting tough. It's a different story when your old lady yells at you to cut the grass, and nascar is on that afternoon. The bikes sit. Then sell them for a substantial loss. Why buy a new one when you can buy a mint decked out pig for half the price. I don't think they will go out of business, but who fuckin cares. If that business model is successful then the world is worse off than I thought.../end rant.
  20. I was in the correct level of novice (5), on Monday. There just wasn't much open space on the track that day. We were constantly on someone else's ass and some of the slower riders were being dropped by their group and not yielding to the faster groups. No big, and the instructors, namely Tony and Dennis, were trying to keep it constructive regardless of the traffic. I have learned alot from those guys and highly recommend them as good instructors. Unfortunately, I am monetarily tapped out for the year. looking forward to some tracktime next spring.
  21. I have done 4 trackdays total. 3 in novice and 1 intermediate. Tuesday was nearly a 1 to 1 coach to student ratio.
  22. I was in Novice on Monday also. I rode group 5. It was really crowded until the last session, the group atrophied to a manageable amount, and had a some clear track. The good thing is that it persuaded me to bump up to intermediate today, where I only made one line mistake at the higher speeds.Anyway, I think they said novice had 7 riders signed up, a few intermediates dropped down, but it was still less than ten I think.
  23. Cool Vids. I would love to see myself like that, that's a great tool. On the 2nd video, I think it is turn 6 and 7, (the offcamber rising and falling left hand, and the immediate right hand, before the bridge), I hold that a lot closer to the inside, seems you got a little outside there. If you hold 6 tight, it it seems faster and my grip feels more solid to me and then an easier set up for number7, which I pull in close to the curb about halfway through and that sets up a straighter shot under the bridge. If anyone has a different idea there, I'd like to hear it. I find the hardest turn on the track, for me, is the small lefthander after thunder valley before the carousel. I think I have my line right, but I fail to carry the speed through there that I should.
  24. I just signed up for both days.
