  1. Nice bike, started on an 03 before i got my 636 loved it, deff a good choice cuz the new 600 supersports r deff too much for beginners, but u'll prob be wanting something with a little more power next season, see ya on the street!
  2. hey i heard of a class at Mid ohio sometime this summer, i heard that u could rent leathers and boots and all that good stuff that i cant afford. Was just wondering if neone knows anything about this class? Its supposeably taught by this salesman at hinds motorsports
  3. well ive had a power aqouistic 980 watt amp and 2 500 watt Pioneer subs in my car for a while, and whenever i would run the heater and headlights or something that takes a lot of the power. When i would turn the music up on a song with a lot of bass, when a large bass hit would come it would cause the cd player to restart. All my friends told me that i needed a cap because the amp is drawing too much power, well i bought a 3 farad one off ebay, and wired it up as shown in the directions, played it and it does the exact same thing no change at all, and the cap is a digital one, its lit up and showing that its getting power. Even the lights are still dimming? what could be my prob!
  4. Yeah that is true, but theres only so much you can do to a 98 ZX7, if he plans on beating an 04 R1 it will cost prob more than what his bike is worth to be at that level of performance, but i dont know, im still fairly new to bikes when ive been only riding for 2 years and have about 20,000 miles under my belt. So the more expierence riders for instance (182mph) maybe does have big plans for it i dunno... and im sure knows more about modding bikes than i do.. I was just trying to make a point that his bike will not do 182 mph stock, it will do that indicated, but hes not actually going 182 mph i looked up the top speed for a stock 2000 ZX7R and it is 158. Also if he has some major mods coming their most likely going to have to be all custom because there is very little aftermarket support for the ZX7R..
  5. If your talking about racing your ZX7, even with spray and a turbo i doubt you could do 220, i doubt it could even do 182 stock, im sure it does 182 indicated, my bike does over 180 indicated easily but theres about a 5-7% error on the speedo. So what are you really going to race? Has to be something other than your ZX7 or else your gonna get your ass handed to you a couple of times...
  6. yeah, the thing is one of my buddies just totaled his WS6, so getting the engine at a cheap price is in reach. His LT1 currently has over a 100,000 miles on it and the LS1 only has 41,000. He mostly wants it to increase the reliability of his car and the value, but from what im hearing the reliability part would probably be worse...
  7. oen of my buddies has a 93 LT1 Camaro 6speed, and he was wondering how difficult it would be to swap out his LT1 with a 6speed WS6 LS1 Trans Am motor with the tranny. Would everything bolt right up, or would it involve a lot of cutting and custom fitting? Also would a flowmaster catback exhaust fit on a 93 LT1 camaro off of a 5th gen WS6? Thanks for any help...
  8. you might want to look in on a Kaw ZRX1200R, my dad has one and the styling is more retro, so its not for everyone. The 1200 CC engine in it is a bored out ZX11 motor and is tuned more for torque and midrange. It feels like a big bike, but does not have so much power that it will scare you. Has about 112 hp and 75 ft lbs of torque, they havent changed the model in the past few years so you could pick up an 02 model (the same as my dads) and it will be identical to a brand new 05 except for the color. As i said before, the way it looks is not my style, but a lot of guys ride em and they all tell me its a great bike, and from riding it i agree with em its a lot more torquey than my 636, but a lot heavier, my first bike was also an EX, and my 636 is deff enough power for me, also look into a Suz SV1000S, sporbike styling, with a torquey midrange V twin.
