  1. it really wasnt that hard just a TON of parts. Had some trouble getting the seals in the clutch pack without messing them up. other that that its just parts. Without the book would have been impossible for me but it came together ok in the end.
  2. so I tackled this by myself and found the rear planetary set was trashed. I have a service manual for a 94 but my ride is a 96 and i am having trouble figuring out the order for the springs in relation to the 1-2 and 3-4 accumulator pistons in the valve. The book shows one way but the wear pattern on the spacer plate shows another I just wanna get it right anyone got any ideas here?
  3. Ive got a 96 chevy 1500 pickup transmission just pooped for the third time. Pulled the pan had metal in it. Pulled trans and I am going to attempt to build it myself this time. Or any special tools that most people wouldnt have.

  10. I had the same issue with my truck did all the crap you described above to no avail...Ended up pulling out the distributor and the gear was worn razor sharp. I got a new replacement gear from napa and installed it and the miss went away. The only glitch was i had to have a scanner to reset the timing because aparently these engine are pretty picky about where the distributor is set. Hope this helps.
