  1. While I will won't say that all our American cars are crap, I will say that IMHO the Fiero was a deathtrap and unreliable, where the NSX is not. That's not to say that the NSX isn't overpriced. But I'm not sure these were the best two examples to pit against one another to compare domestic to Japanese engineering and development.

No it was actually supposed to be a joke of sorts, but they do look ridiculously similar. and for all intents and purposes are built the exact same way. 6cylinder mid engine car, manual trans-axel, 4wheel independent suspension, 4 wheel disk brakes, Radiator is in the front of the car, both use modified MacPherson struts on all 4 corners. There's a stupid amount of similarities between the two if you actually sit down and look at it.

  2. The Fiero was a great car (my mom had one and subsequently wrecked it through a fence) - but I think it got a shitty rep because of the quality problems GM had in the 80's, and I think I remember reading stuff about it with regards to how GM constructed it. Basically it was a 'mutt' from a bunch of other GM car parts bins, which made it cheap to construct, but lacking any synergy from parts that you'd get with a dedicated design effort.

 the entire rear suspension and drive line was stolen from the Citation bin. Unfortunately so was the front :D

  3. Care to trade the Busa for a Buell ? :)

Not really, but then again Buell doesn't make a 4cylinder 170hp 500lb motorcycle does it? I have for some Un-Holy reason been eying the Buell 1125R though. I'd go look at one but I'm sure I'd burst into flames if I ever stepped foot on property owned by "The Motor Company"

Let me dig up some specs, their really not that far off from each other as one would believe.

  4. [edit] I'm going to personally strangle the next halfwit that takes this thread seriously. [/edit]

Just looking at stupid shit today, I have a question...

How come when GM does it, it sells for 20k and is called a Fiero?

and when Honda does it, it sells for 100k and is called an NSX?

    Just curious.

  5. orbital wheels..interesting concept

you can do this with a large custom bearing, or 2 large aircraft bearings (one on each side)

but there are a number of downfalls to this design...

Yeah I'd start with where the fuck do you put the brakes?! :slap:

  6. and the suzie guys seem to forget it took almost 3 years for them to get something to keep up with the 'Bird which came out in 96...and they needed 200 more cc's for 10 more horsepower in 99

    :honda: FTW

    and welcome new old dude

3 Years isn't that long in bike terms, takes a revamp of a model 2, so an entirely new bike in 3 ain't too shabby. And when the 'Busa came out it trumped the XX, it wasn't one failed attempt after another.

Besides I like the BlackBirds :D
