  1. ? WTF ? I never said it WAS a Chevy Vs. Ford thing! So sorry I brought up an 1100 HP GM in an almighty 1000 HP GT thread. Geeze
  2. As the owner of a vette I'll tell ya thats just not true. The 'Vette isn't just an image, It's a serious sports car. It's #1 in it's Class in LeMans for several years now (ford doesn't even have a racing program) and the C6 Z06 is alot more than "another 'Vette with a big engine shoved in it" If you get a chance stop and take a good look at it and you'll appreciate what went into the car, everything from flush screws everywhere, smooth, blended inner fender wells, to moving the engine down 30mm and back 55mm to improve weight balance. Thats not mentioning the carbon fiber fenders (the paint on the fenders weighs more than the fenders themselves, and they must be pinned down to paint or they blow away), floor boards, and bumpers, magnesium engine cradle, Ti connecting rods, dry sump oiling system, and alum frame and suspention components.
  3. Not too shabby, but I think I'd rather have one of these http://www.lingenfelter.com/Lingenfelter2006ZO6TTBGB.htm  Lingenfelter's fastest C6 Corvette standing mile pass with street tires 226.25 MPH - May 2007 0-200 mph in 18.34 seconds on 93 octane pump gas. Standing mile in 25.12 seconds at 226.25. 1,100 HP rear wheel on 93 octane 1,300 HP rear wheel on race gas 23 psi boost Based on horsepower and drag of the vehicle. calculated top speed of roughly 300 MPH!
  4. awesome. The RSS feeds have become a bit annoying, but over all the site rocks:banana: Had a few good rides, and made a few new friends though the site. Thumbs up!
  5. I don't think were looking at this in the right perspective... Not miles, but hours... Canada won't execute you for speeding, I think Ohio is the only state that does that, we may be able to make some serious time, "oh officer, i thought the speed limit was 160 MILES per hour"
  6. yeah, you notice anything over 250cc isn't eligable for competition... I sold the bass boat, I'll be picking my new bike up around march, if it's a touch more comfortable I'd give this serious consideration, if anyone else is up for it
  7. 650 miles in one day?! I don't know about that... Sounds fun though I'd have to think about it
  8. Under normal conditions an engine will stall from a lean condition thats producing hot enough temps to make a stainless pipe glow red in daylight, unless your going stupid lean on N20, and if thats the case, headers are the least of your worries, you should start looking at pistons and combustion chambers for holes. Yes, We've already covered that. Along with materials used, the insanely high speed of a sport bike engine lends it's self to inefficiencies. spinning at 14+k rpms doesn't give the fuel enough time to fully burn in the exceptionally short combustion stroke so it will still be burning as it goes out the exhaust, even if it's timed and fueled perfectly.
  9. Hell NO! Bastard is on a nail in my garage I'm gonna keep that forever
  10. True story Thats how I got my bike, guy was a "stunter" so he was mad cool yo, rode a wheelie for over 1/2 a mile, oil starved motor decided to spit out a con rod bearing. I bought the frame and plastic, threw a new motor in it. Not a bad deal on my end. Sucked for him.
  11. personally, the BS and shit talking are the reasons I frequent this board, along with FBody.com, even though I sold my T/A years ago! Light atmosphere, good people who can take, and give shit. Your always going to have people who disagree, thats what the Harley boards are for Face it, this is mainly a sportbike forum, we ride what we do for a reason, we're into going fast, doing stupid shit, and we're all probably borderline nutjobs. "normal" people would probably have heart attacks if they had to ride with us, Christ, I took my mother up the street to a resturant to meet my sisters and she gave me the 3rd degree. I thought I was being pretty conservative with my driving
  12. Is it a piggy back unit like the PC, or a replacement ECU?
  13. too little timing makes headers glow, not too little fuel
  14. ah, being Ti and at night, yeah you prob don't have much of an issue, but controling injectors doesn't have much to do with it, it's a timing issue. Adding fuel to a vehicle with glowing headers will make the headers stop glowing, but it's just a bandaid not a fix. Adding extra fuel acts to cool the charge since there will be unburnt fuel at the end of the combustion cycle, it absorbs the heat and vaporizes. This costs you power and wastes fuel. Advancing the timing makes the ignition event occur earlier in the cycle giving the fuel more time to burn, and subsequently cool, before the exhaust valve opens. Glowing headers being a sign of an engine running lean is an internet myth. But i doubt you have a problem anyway.
  15. Emo, it's like Goth, but for pussies. satan where did you get that shirt? I want one
  16. actually glowing headers is usually from not having enough timing in the motor. The fuel is still burning and heating up as it comes out past the valve and into the exhaust instead of cooling as it hits the pipe, it's still heating and expanding, thus making the pipes hotter and glow. And it's not cool, it sucks and is a good way to burn up exhaust valves and seats. If you've got a PC3 on it try putting more timing into it, should solve the problem

    the 08 zx10

isn't that pretty much their purpose? As sportbikes? Race on Sunday, sell it Monday. NASCAR used to be like that, that's how you got all your muscle cars.
  18. summit, jets, and stainless works all sell ore-bent mandral pipe that you can use to fab up your own exhaust
  19. sorry, the paddle shifter isn't available till next year. Here's a good link, of course they've got to complain about everything, but I assure you there's nothing wrong with it. The editors at these mags just have Europe, and Asian car manufactures cocks so far down there throats they can't breathe. www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedans/112_0709_2008_cadillac_cts
  20. why not look at any American cars? Caddy has quite a few cars that are just as good or better than those, the STS-V 4 (AWD) comes to mind, 450 HP, supercharged 4.5 liter, DOHC V8, 6 speed manual, or i paddle shifted auto, 50/50 weight balance, and consistantly rated best in class quality. Or are you one of those people who base there opinion of American cars off of the 83 cavi they had in high school? We build the best cars in the world, but the idiots at car and driver will never tell you that. At least go test drive one, you may be plessntly surprised.
  21. SRT-8 AWD Charger, throw a supercharger on it, 550-600HP 4 doors, and good in the snow.
  22. ou beleve after all that the sumbitch died from natural causes!
  23. You could lite the garage on fire, it'd stay pretty warm while it burned but eventually it'd get unbearable unless you had a way to control the fire. You could probably put a sprinkler in there to help stop spread, make it burn slower, that would give you more working time before you were out of heat.
  24. Speed. I've done some pretty stupid shit just to go fast. it's an adrenalin rush nothing can compare to. I remember breaking 100 when I'd take my dad's 75 vette out and thinkin that was haulin' ass. Then about 03 I built my 01 6 speed, WS6 that would peg the 155 speedo without blinking, I'd make it from here to Philla in under 4 and half hours in that car, running 130 a good way out the turnpike. Now it's going 175+ on a bike and cruizing at 120 doesn't even seem anymore of a rush than running 65 down the freeway anymore
  25. going to Brazil huh? Sounds like a cool place, I worked with a bunch of Brazilians in Philly painting a big bridge. There advice; be carefully, allot of the women there, ARN'T! LOL or is that why your going?
