He put it under the upper fairing. Facing downwards... That's ok, I am getting paid back from doing some "artwork" on his street tires. Let's just say he'll wanna do some scrub time before he rides...

I'm going to get some black Stomp Grip. But, it doesn't cover it 100%. I'm just anal and hate that fucking orange stripe... Hence the ribbing from Nick and others. They know I hate it because I mention it every time I see the freakin thing...

If you mean assembly and related. No. Reuben at 35 Motorsports does my stuff. If you mean setting the suspension to work for me and what I want it to do, then yes. To a degree... I have a buddy who helps me translate what is happening into making changes that should work. He's the guy with the brains and I spurt out info that he puts into adjustments. I can set sag and set the suspension for others and help them, though. Whatcha need?

Look, the bike is over 1100 ccs. Here's a great link that shows the numbers and why the racers are scratching their heads in wonder as to why this bike is allowed... http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2008/Nov/081121fr.htm Maybe you missed the trap speeds of the 1125Rs vs. the R6? I'm not prejudice towards the bikes. Maybe you didn't read anything I said. You take a 1125R and an R6 and make them both race ready. You'll have more money in the Buell. I see you're a Buell rider by your sig. Maybe you should wake up and quit drinking so much Cool-Aide. DMG has shit so screwed up it isn't funny. The Buell on paper should eat the R6 for lunch. It showed at Daytona it is VERRRRY fast. But, what you are pointing to is something that still doesn't make sense. The Buell should be allowed in FX as per the rules LAST year. Not in an essentially Supersport class... Oh, and it isn't new... What I was refering to was that Buell is actually wanting to make a proper bike like seen in the Ducati and RC8 and other high performance sport bikes...

It's a slipper, but if you are racing it, you need to get it adjusted. Call Reuben at 35 Motorsports for help and guidance. It's really just a matter of riding it and getting used to it. It will still be better than your 03 as the bike is head and shoulders above it anyways and the slipper in that 03 isn't enough to make you wish you still had it vs. the 07... Stock is really good... BUT, again, there are some things you need to do to it if you race it and Rub can help with that or talk you through it... He's at Roebling this weekend so, he won't be back until Monday and then is going to be busy with bikes and motors, but PM him or shoot him an email via his site at www.35motorsports.com

I appreciate the well wishes. Probably only get a couple of races in this year on this thing. i hope for more, but I will be directing a lot more STT events this year and I probably will be pressed for time...

Yeah, Troy and Derrick were trying to tell me it actually looked ok. It was just too cold out to get the black vinyl on it to cover it up... Jerk.

As you can see, it is a 100% race trimmed bike. Not me...

I applied the pinstripes...

Well, as some of you know, I had Paul (Attack Painter) paint my race bike for this year. I gave him a set of Hotbodies plastic that was in OK shape. The set is like most HB sets and they are pretty much some of the cheapest and crapiest sets out there. BUT, the beauty is that they are cheap and for us tight ass racers, that's a good thing... When I got the bike, it was Vesrah yellow. I have known Mark (owner of Versah) for MANY years and I have seen those yellow bikes so many times and a LOT of racers buy his end of the year machines for racing the following season. So, a lot of yellow bikes out there... I had to be a bit different. I kept one set pristine and in the true Vesrah colors in case I ever sell it and can slap it on and people will recognize the bike... Anyways, Paul got the plastics and within about a 2 week period (He said he'd have them done sooner if I needed it - I was in no hurry) because he had to do some of the Attack Racing paint. He was a pretty busy dude, but got me in and delivered them to me. I gotta say that I was STOKED! When I saw them, I was so freakin happy that I almost wet my pants. I do that often. Is that a bad thing? Kidding... But, I was really excited and couldn't wait to get the stickers put on. I'm a little weird when it comes to stickers. I hate the look that says someone got free stickers with their Power Commander or K&N filter and just slapped them on as they are from the box. I like things to match and look as if they are purposely made for whatever application you have. I have a vinyl shop print stickers for me. I created the artwork and did it in path form and they made them to whatever color I wanted. I went with white on black and placed them on the lowers and in other areas. I used some color here and there like the red stickers and with Reuben's logos... The end result is seen below. I gotta say that with the great paint job Attack did and with it stickered, it looks pretty damn cool. The paint is high gloss and he even went as far as to pinstripe around my numbers. I gotta change the numbers to heavier vinyl as they bubbled too much as I put them on too soon I think... If anyone is interested in getting their bike painted, I'd recommend Paul in a minute. His info is: Paul Finn 5909 Headly Road Gahanna, Ohio 43230 614-394-2195 Great job and he does stuff for racers so, get ahold of him and tell him I sent ya... Thanks a ton, Paul!! Well, they actually aimed it at track use a good bit. They have a really good platform for FX as they have shown and even now in the Daytona Sportbike class. It's a good bike. But, you are right, it is a LITLLE more relaxed in seating position and such, but not by much. It's not as aggressive as a current crop 600, but I agree with you - the 600s are more track than street really... I also agree about the being different. I also think that they appeal to a lot of riders. That's why I said if the OP likes it, they should get it. It's a really good bike. The motor is awesome.
-
That - If you can ride down here, I can do it pretty quick and easy. It's a matter of tools and such. I got everything needed... Let me know.
-
It saves over a pound in rotational mass. Street use? No benefit. Other than getting a gold chain and different sprockets as it is hard to get gearing in 530 sizes...
-
Actually, it would be about an hour plus. Take off the wheel, take off the counter sprocket and rear sprocket and install all. Cutting the chain is no biggie and putting on a new one is easy, but that's a pretty fair shop rate...
-
Oh, trust me, there's someone out there that would love this bike with the drag goodies. However, that's going to be a smaller demographic of riders. The fairings and the title are an issue. Bodywork for these things even used on Ebay are going to be about $700. I'd say if he asked $4500 firm, he'd have a good price. You'd have to pull out $700 or thereabouts for plastics. That's $5200... Of course, you could sell the race plastics easy if they are in good shape. Depending on the plastics, they'd go from $250 to $500 if they are good ones... He's not that far off, I guess, but man, when you are selling a stock bike pretty much that has been either wrecked or been drag raced, you have a tough time sometimes... They think abuse overall... I'd tell him to post the title status. If salvage, it wouldn't be that much cheaper really. Probably $4k max.

New "lamest bike ever"? Bike "just for woman" unveiled.
Moto-Brian replied to Harb67's topic in Daily Ride
You went from saying I am closed minded about HD involvement and that I am some type of Honda Fan Boy (The last Honda I owned was an F3...). I gave a response to which you back pedalled to the second quote saying I am anti-HD... I gave a response to only have you say the last comment where I am somehow against HD engineering. Are you trying to save face here? Just man up and say you mis understood what I was saying and we can move on. Continuing to try and make it look like I am somehow throwing shit on HD over this topic is getting pretty funny. I'll take your apology, sir. We can now move on. -
New "lamest bike ever"? Bike "just for woman" unveiled.

Where in this topic is HD engineering even suggested? If anything, I am advocating someone to buy an HD because they've been able to cater to women for years. Dude, I understand you are passionate about cruisers. I get it. I am passionate about motorcycles and even though you think you know about me, what you don't get is that I actually enjoy certain cruisers. Are they for me? No... Not yet. Are they something I have entertained for a street bike? Certainly. The HD V-Rod is at the top of the list followed closely by a Dyna series or similar... If you're hung up on the comments like the Buell and the HD powerplant, it is a totally different application. HD technology is 1940s radial engine technology. Do I think Yamaha has a better package? Yes. Do I think the Warrior is a great idea for someone thinking about a V-Rod or similar? Yes. But the thing is that whatever bike you are wanting or like, you need to look at ALL your options. Just because I MIGHT pick a metric over an HD has nothing to do with the name. Not sure why you think I am a Honda Fan Boy, either. I actually am not a fan of Honda at all. You're really screwed up in your logic and how you perceive what I think about cruisers. The engineering is something that I think can be better, but I think that of a LOT of metric bikes, as well... By the way, why did you not buy an HD vs. the Suzuki you have??? I mean, I at least have the V-Rod as number 1 on my list right in front of the Warrior... I prefer the V-Rod in terms of the fit for me. The engineering of cruisers isn't anything similar to what I am used to in sportbikes, so it is somewhat a moot point for me. I am not happy about the cost associated with an HD and thus, the Warrior gets points for that and makes it damn near equal when and if I decide to go that route... -
Let's put it this way... Buell 1125s are racing against current crop 600s. Seems to be a pretty equal scenerio, right? I think it says a lot about the lack of power and handling of the Buells... Now, add in street trim and the bikes get even further apart. Your buddy got a good leason in what these current crop Big 4 bikes have to offer. They are much lighter, purpose built machines. I do bet after a while of learning, your buddy will never go back. It's not a slam as I think the new 1125 is a MUCH better attempt at a sportbike than previous Buells. I remember the previous models as being VERY chunky and sloppy and not a good idea for track use. Many did and with success, but if they succeeded, they dropped a LOT of money into them to get them close... I do know that there is a proper sportbike attempt coming from Buell. It hopefully will not get shelved as it is targeting the RC8, Ducati, etc. Now, we've heard this song and dance before, but I think it may change...
