Beaver is boring and a basic layout. Doesn't offer much in terms of technical that you can take to other facilities. Grattan is VERY similar to Mid-Ohio in that it offers blind turns, off camber, technical areas, etc. The pavement is a bit bad, but Beaver's sucks as well... Both are good, but Grattan is a better choice for a rider in terms of track layout and offerings. If you want easy to learn and easy to ride, Beaver it is... Go to Mid-Ohio and wait for the weekend dates. Or, get a day off. You'll understand why. If not, BG is the top choice. You'll drive the same distance and I can guarantee it will be the best track out of the bunch. Probably a toe to toe with Mid-Ohio. Maybe better in some regards. We won't know for sure until April... My vote is this: Weekends? Wait for Mid-Ohio. Travel costs are lower and off sets that higher cost than driving 4 plus hours one way... If not able to wait and you have to drive 4 plus hours, choose BG. If you have settled on Grattan or Beaver, by all means choose Grattan... Hands down.

Just remember the three finger spacing rule on the chain. You'll be good. It was a little tight for my tastes, but knew it will stretch a tad. If it is too loose, it will slap the swingarm and make it look really bad. Not to mention the wear it will cause... Post a thread on the WERA forum and post a WTB oil pan. I will ask Reuben if he has one. Problem is that racers typically don't use that tab so...

Buy a kit from Hot Cams. They have all the shims you'd need... Or, just go to a decent shop and buy some. You'll have to spec out all the ones you'd need and then go in and trade. Most shops should, but seeing if the numbers are worn off, most won't.

By the way, I still need to shoot some pics of the Suomy "how to". Or, did you get it on? Let me know and I will do it today...

Essentially, it can now be said that Flounder confirmed what we all expected... After all, he just basically said he went down with a cock in his hand... Weird that he would publicly state that, but at least we all are aware now...

Dude, you were a trooper, man. All the shit you went through to getting it fixed, you deserve a trophy for attrition. Great looking bike and I am sure you'll have plenty of good times on it. By the way, how'd it run?

It was apparently the Level 2 class which is Intermediates. Looks like they had a racer in that group and he was too hot into the corner. You can see he was out of shape... Too hot in and probably cold tires... Not good at all. More on the shoulders of the passer, obviously...

What is the deal on this? I am still learning all the new rules? I mis typed... I was refering to the Dayton 200 event. I do however think the pace car is just plain stupid. One of the unique things about motorcycle racing is the standing start thing. If there's a red flag, start from a dead stop. This rolling start whit behind a pace car is about as dumb as giving Iran free nukes...

That thing is retarded cool! Seriously unique and awesome. Great job! Now, you just need to get rivets put on to replicate panels on the side...

Down more times than Flounder on a 14 year boy. It's a reality that comes with motorcycles. Between the dirt and track, I've eaten ground burgers enough times to be pretty over it all. Being knocked out for minutes on end, waking up every morning because the shoulders are fucked, having to limp 4-5 steps on the left foot from being crunched, etc. It gets pretty old before too long... Just never crashed on the street (knock on wood) and am really glad I haven't. You all need to be safe out there and use your heads as if every cager is trying to kill you. For you track guys who race and track day, get used to it. Some are easy and some are hard. Either way, it sucks... Especially if it is your fault... It's easy if you are taken out. You can get back on and ride easily enough...

Sun 3/22/09 - Thunder Valley Tactical Steel Match
Moto-Brian replied to flounder's topic in Dumpster
Hey Flounder - if you'd stop being gay and playing with guns, you might actually be able to do a few things: 1) Quit posting gun shit on a motorcycle forum. You ride or play with your "gun" a lot? Check out www.Ilikemygunbetterthanmygirlfriendandmotorcycles.com 2) You could actually get that fucking 750 fixed and completed instead of blowing your load on your toy rifle. 3) You could actually do something that more people are into and less likely to think you're some kind of militia creep guy... Bodies inthe basement, anyone? Just bustin your balls. Wish I could afford a good rifle. Jealous, I guess. But, you're still a homo. -
Basically, the guy that helped him out had the counter shaft sprocket on wrong - front facing inwards and had the washer on there, as well... No issues on getting that handled. I just like helping out when I can. My idea is that if I show guys and gals how easy it is to work on their bikes, they will learn some and not be afraid to do it themselves. Just watch the chain as it will stretch some and check that counter shaft pick-up bolt... By the way, That Dude should now be called JB...:D

You aren't alone. The rules and the TV package are going to really test this series. Why wait two weeks for races to air and only to show highlights when it does? This is about as stupid as it gets and I think it is only going to get worse. Many things that don't make sense: -Superbike class having racing stopped to bring out the pace car for a dash to the finish. Why? Why not just do 10 lap sprint races and be done with it? All that work you might have done at the start could be for not as they bunch it up and allow your competition to get up behind you. Stupid. -Dayton Sportbike class allowing FX bikes to run with 600 SS prepped bikes. WTF?? Aprilia is in WSBK running against Ducs and in-line 1000s. Why in Sportbike against SS 600 inlines?? The Buell makes over 125 hp and it is running in the class... In FX, I could see it as it was only allowed minimal mods and the 600s were allowed decent building allowances... All the bikes were fairly equal in terms of weight and hp. Now? Not at all... -Supersport having 7 rider grids. HUH? who wants to watch 7 riders? With only allowing 16-21 year olds, it limits who is going to be able to race. The races will be run by more local guys than anything. I think allowing a class for Pro Ams is cool, but 7 rider grids are going to be a joke. We can watch WSBK the same weekend. You can still find out who won, but if you don't want to know, you just avoid the sites for a day - not two weeks or a week, etc... Then only to get highlights... The upside is that MotoGP and WSBK will get more attention and more fans. The downside is that someone better get this fixed before the AMA goes down in flames...

Yeah, thanks to Justin, my tires say it all, I guess. Thing is, Justin doesn't quite get the art of payback...

how well will Hopper do in WSBK? (confirmed w/ stiggy)
Moto-Brian replied to natedogg624's topic in Track is Crack
He might whine at times, but he's one of the best riders in the world... Like him or hate him, facts are facts... -
Except he's been in the big-boy class long enough to be done doing that... It's when he gets pressured or has to catch up...
-
When I referred to James and RC talking about Reed - it wasn't at the event racing... It was a sit down casual conversation where they honestly never thought of Reed as a threat. They only gave him credit for winning when they were injured...

how well will Hopper do in WSBK? (confirmed w/ stiggy)
Moto-Brian replied to natedogg624's topic in Track is Crack
Hopper is about money and that's it. Maybe this reduction in his "status" will light a fire under his ass and cause him to ride well and ride hard. After all, he could use the fact that he was booted out of MotoGP and can show the world he still belongs there by busting everyone's ass in WSBK. But, I bet he doesn't do much of anything. It'll be the bike's fault or the sub par team he is riding for or something... I lost a lot of respect for the kid after what he's said about Nicky and how he went to Kaw for the money... I hope Spies beats his ass and shows Hopper what COULD HAVE been had he focused and waited... -
What's up with your site?
-
Glad we're cool. I was concerned and about to write some choice comments on your tires ala Flounder... Ah, what the hell, maybe I will anyways!
-
Cool, man. Good luck with it. I think you'll pull a couple of ponies. And hell, even if you don't, you'll free it up a tad with the PAIR thingy. I TOTALLY agree with the way you did it vs. buying the Graves. See what happens when you don't use the angry voice and slanderous words? Have fun at the dyno. Let us know how it goes.
-
Schmuck?? What?? Are you agreeing with this guy? I'm just pointing out that it isn't SS legal AS HE FUCKING STATED. He can do whatever he wants to his street bike, but there are some racers on here and they should know it ISN'T legal as HE STATED... As far as the dyno goes, you should know better than most that he's doing it wrong to get accurate results... So everyone understands... This is a cheap and inexpensive mod. Easy to do. However, to get proper results, you need to do this on the SAME day under as much of the same conditions as you can get to find results. Sure, if nothing is accomplished, all you have is $10 into the thing. BUT, time is worth something, too and if it isn't worth the work, the time, the effort of getting the parts ordered, bought, put on, etc... Why do it? It has shit to do with racing. Again, easy mod for anyone to do no matter what you ride and how you ride. BUT, my experience comes from racing. Sorry it does, but honestly, it's the only way I have learned so much. But, it gets tossed around as making me a know it all. 14 years in the industry has allowed me to garnish a ton of useless knowledge. I just try and make sure people get the right info. When they toss out wrong info and i correct it, I'm a dick, I guess. So, do what you all want. Anyone want to know the truth or to validate, give me a hollar. Meanwhile, I'll go ride my GSXR that has the stock velocity stacks...
-
Hey dumb fuck. I don't shit in everyone's threads - only the guys like yourself that are saying shit that isn't correct. Your comments on them being allowed and the reasoning they are legal in S racing is WWRONG. I pointed that out and gave correct info. Why's that so upsetting to you? Oh, that's right... you hate being wrong... Secondly, the PAIR mod on the GSXR which is connecting the PAIR hose to the crankcase breather hose DOES add HP. To the tune of about 2-3. Want to know how I know that? I have done it and about every other racer who runs a GSXR... Get over yourself. Never said it did on the Yamis... Why? I don't have experience on them, but I can find out from a knowledged source. As far as dynoing, again... You're so fucking out of whack on your ideas. Your write up is great and all, but the thing is that you are NOT going to get an accurate idea of increase if you don't do it all at once. It takes literally an hour to do the mods you did with the valve and boots. You'd take the bike to the dealer stock, run it. Pull it off and add the PAIR mod. run it and see. Take it off the dyno, go back to stock and then add the boots. Take notes. Finally, add the PAIR mod and make runs. That gives you as good as you can get dyno runs and will know what the mods actually did. Anyone with ANY fucking dyno experience would support that idea. Your results over stock are going to be poorly attained. Dude, I am fine just giving out proper info for others so they aren't screwed if they think this is legal and they want to race. BUT, you always like to throw in the insults so, i jump on your throat. Back the hell off, dude. Unless you have something good to add, your info is tainted...

What makes him brittle? He's not Hepler... He's a pussy when it comes to riding hurt when compared to RC, for example, but James is as fit as a rider can be. He's tough...
