Well, I decided to go pinstripes. I just think the bike will stand out - even if it means looking like two zebras fucking!! (Thanks, Todd!) Anyways, it is not complete as sponsor stickers will go on the belly pan. Close up pics look like shit and they will look WAY better on the bike, but here ya go! Upper and lower attached: Tail:

Suomy helmets SUCK!! Ok, they are the best helmet I have worn since 1998!!:D:D Great deal for bucket heads!

Can't say enough about Paul (attackpainter on here) and his work. Now, mine was a race set and the plastic was garbage and yet, he made it look stellar!! Sure he can do street/great quality work... Give him a call and ask him for an idea: 614-394-2195

You are correct. I think maybe a few 07s too, but not sure on that 100%, but do know they are for 08/09s...

Or, UPS brown with gold wheels and powder blue number plates....

Todd, ya killing me, man!!

I was thinking of doing the stripes at an angle, but just did this to see how it would look. Might do the upper and lower at this angle /// and the tail at this angle \\\ Or other way around... I'll mess with it today after getting more stripe material...
-
So, I got this idea for the new plastic. I have the SHIFT Vertex race suit seen here: I thought I'd reverse the pinstripes to be black on white like the black suit to offset the white suit's stripes... Whatcha think? (Shit pic, but you get the idea...)

Just bought my 06 Gsxr 750...Question about Decals
Moto-Brian replied to Dubguy85's topic in Daily Ride
The "S" is a stick on chrome decal. The colored stripe is cleared 100%. The stomp grip idea is great. You can get some black vinyl and cover the spot where the grip tape won't cover and you'd be fine. -
Seen guys on 14s and Busas do a great job in the twisties. Hell, I have seen a buddy on an ST1100 (yes, older one) hand some youngin's their asses on sportbikes... Point is it is the rider. I will say that these bikes are big and heavy. They are VERY fast and can be tuned to be destroyers. But, while they handle great for their size and dimensions, they aren't what a 1000, 750 or 600 is in terms of agility and cornering ability. That being said, we have had guys on ZX12, 14s, and Busas show the kids on proper track toys the way around the track at a high pace. I think you all are crazy, but at the same time, it leaves me smiling to see someone riding well on a bike not first thought of when you talk race track...

Interesting read for sure... Interesting how people take HP and weight and claim the 1000s gotta be faster. Well... In capable hands, the 1000 is faster. That is a tough proposition. Look at it three ways. 1) Experienced racer. Multiple years of racing 600s, 750s and 1000s. That racer will go faster on the 1000 in terms of lap times. They will have to work extra hard on a 600 to get low lap times and be competitive. 600s are corner speed oriented and take skill to get going fast consistently. 1000s on the other hand are a fucking handful at race pace. They require not only major focus, but a lot of energy to ride hard. They are fast and handle great sure. But, they take an experienced pilot to run them at that speed with any control and consistency. The 750 has been forgotten and it is unfortunate. A well experienced racer can make a 750 do great things. They are faster than a 600 and have the same dimensions as a 600, but lighter than a 1000. They are lower hp to a serious tune to the 1000 and take a lot of work to keep up with an equally talented racer on a 1000. That being said, they are less work. It isn't cake, but it is less and therefore, combining the handling ability, they can stay close. Another way: 2) Track day rider of average ability. Typical guy at the track. A 600 is still tough to ride fast. It is the most user friendly and will do what is pretty much asked by it. It handles great and has decent power. But, that average ability doesn't allow the rider to tap into it 100%. Most experienced racers can exceed 600s to a degree... The 1000 in the same hands of this example is a handful. Sure, it blasts down the straight and is quick out of turns, but most will throttle it instead of ride it. They brake early due to the increase in speeds. They tend to be much more gentle out of turns due to wheels spins and lower rear traction. They also have an issue with handling because there is an added gyro effect from the bigger motor. Understand that most riders on 600s can do as good as the guys on 1000s... Enter the 750. I think with the fact that it is a 600 chassis, 600 weight and more of a FX type of HP, it tends to be the best choice. It is easier to ride than the 1000. It is tougher than the 600 and takes some higher skills in the corners, but it isn't that far a stretch. It is typically 20 hp more than the 600 while the 1000 is about 40 hp more... Final way: 3) Street rider. Nobody on the street even gets the most out of a 600. If we are talking canyon riding and not two up and long distance, etc., the 750 would be the best choice. The 600 is great, but needs to be WAY up in the rev range for peak power and usability. The 1000 is a great tool as it allows the rider to be lazy. Think 4 stroke MX bike vs. power band induced 2 stroke. However, that hp is tough to use. You get a little behind and get too aggressive on the throttle and you'll be in trouble. It just is a bike than can get you from fine to death in a hurry. The 750 is capable of being easier to ride and fast. It is certainly capable of being right in front of a 1000 on the street due to the fact it is easier to ride and handle. It isn't something that is fuzzy and loving at all times - it can get you in deep just as easily. BUT, it is less fire breathing than the 1000. In the end, it is a choice. It is based on ability. Too often we as a society think faster and more powerful is better. Not always and I see it every track day. I have been on bikes with over a 40 hp difference (lower) and been able to drive around guys and out accelerate and out brake them to the tune that they are never seen again. I have also been on a fire breathing racer and had guys with smaller bikes put me to shame. It can go either way. Bottom line - it is ability and not so much bike... On papaer, the winner is the 1000. But, VERY few people can ride them well. VERY few. All I can say is that when you see that cartoon when the Coyote is trying to get the RoadRunner and he gets on the rocket and when lit, his arms are pulled to twice their length and his body stays still? That's a 1000... Always wheelies in spots the 750 and 600 are tracking well. Always spins the rear to the point you eat tires two to one vs. the 750 and three plus to one vs. the 600. Always has me sweating harder after riding than the 750 did. BUT, the shit eating grin I have when I come in is priceless. I LOVE the 750. Love it. Think it is the best bike all around. However, in racing terms, it is a dead horse. You ride a 600 or a 1000. Even at the street level, it is where the focus is.

First and foremost, the casual and race apparel is NOT affected. They only are concerned over units right now. There IS an ongoing issue with the apparel side, but there has been an extension until 2010. So, there's a LOT of confusion as even seen in the letter. It is only concerning OEM units for children under 12. That sucks. It REALLY sucks... It causes issues in the industry that is going to be problems for a long time!!

Teaser... Attack Painter finished the race plastic...

As soon as it is stickered... -
And it looks KILLA!!! I really dig it. Great work from Attack Painter (Paul) and considering how shitty Hotbodies is, he did an flawless job... I am obviously decaling the set and will add everything by end of next week, but figured I would throw out a teaser or two.... Paint is still a little soft so, I am going to let it sure more... I already knocked it over and chipped the paint on the upper!! But, it's good to have happen. Gets the dirt magnet out of the set...

it'll be a good steed this year. Should be... I still think the R6 is going to be tough to beat - it's that good...

How about when you are on the bike and in the crouched position? Feel pretty good? Nut crunch is supposed to happen in a proper fitting suit...

Do yourself a favor and get the graphic novel and read it. Really cool story and considering the time it was done, it created a link between comics and the normal society of the time. It's really good and wonder how the hell they are going to get this right in a movie... It's very complex and multiple characters throughout that have sub stories going on...

My son??? No way, dude. I wouldn't do that at all. He's got a KX65 that can get tard wheels put on it. I'd feel more secure in having him ride that then the NSR. I appreciate the offer, though. I think he needs more seat time on something he can understand better. The NSR would be fairly foreign as he isn't even really up to any sort of speed with the KX... -
How cool is this....Sam Hornish Jr. could be an Ohio Rider!!!
Moto-Brian replied to Fonzie's topic in Daily Ride
Yeah, the tires tell the story... Most pro athletes like bikes, but have clauses that concern street and race bikes. They typically buy bikes because they can and as any kid, they had a facination with them. He probably sucks at riding at any higher level of ability... Not too many car guys convert well to bikes. But bike guys convert well to cars... He might be an alright guy, but I really hate when the stars and athletes are posing with their steeds in an effort to reach out to other demographics of fans... Understand that motorcycle racing typically only gets outshined by NASCAR in terms of fan base that attend races... -

He's not as good as he thinks he is. I'm not giving him shit, but when a guy smack talks and tells everyone how great he was in GLRRA and can't do much in WERA, the shit gets pretty deep. Guys like him who talk a lot are not well thought of by other racers. He ACTED like he rode a YSR like he rode an R6. The BS way he was talking in the pits about how he was spinning it up, two wheel slides, people slowing him up, etc. was enough to get my buddy boiling. So, he punted him twice in the same sprint race. Pretty funny actually. He was shitting his pants the last one. Guys like him don't get much respect - no matter how you spin it. He came to a track day once at Mid-Ohio. It might have been GLRRA fast, but he was not WERA fast... His mouth was, though... He bugs me... As far as the mini stuff. I think we might get my son into it, but we'd do some open practices first. He's only 9 so... He's not going to be a race star by any means. He loves it and he's a track rat, but he lacks some skills I would like to see him have before we consider racing... -
Saw it sitting next door to the gun club. Looks pretty clean from the road. Gotta get those wheels all the same whether steelies or the aftermarket ones...
