  1. He knows better than to check the Gixxer forums... He'll get better knowledge and better deals on WERA's site...
  2. What suit? I'd send it to Alexa at Spyder Leather Works or BB as mentioned above. Both are top notch, but understand that Daytona is coming and they are both going to get slammed... Take it somewhere where they know suits and how they need to work. Otherwise, they could get a seam wrong and that's bad...
  3. Looks good. Does it fit tight in the junk when standing up straight? Feel great when crouched down and arms out forward? If yes to both, it fits good... Basic thing is if it is too loose, it will roll when hit on impact and the armor could be rolled away from the areas it needs to protect...
  4. Personally, I think it is silly. It should be like Ebay. The sender should be noted so people can check their rep, too. No personal names or anything, but it also allows people to check the thread in question and form an opinion. Otherwise, you can have guys with pissed off attitudes doing it in spite or guys that have legit things to say and yet you have no idea who it was... I don't leave rep because it is pretty much lame. If it cannot be figured out in a thread what you are and your beliefs, who cares? However, I might leave bad rep for Sinner or Flounder because I think they like the man meat, but that's another story. Can't we all just get along?
  5. I'm not sure, but it was a guy named Jeff who we raced with and actually had a great freindship with and then he turned into a bitter old guy. He started a bunch of shit and honestly, he turned us off doing any more small bike stuff. The Pickerals (sp?) were buddies from way back and I like them a lot. Plus, friends like Sansotta and others who I used to race with used to run there a lot. But, overall, just couldn't get into the smack talking and wanna be status a lot of guys possesed (Henderson fit in that class - we made sure we punted him as often as we could...). A lot of them think they are equal to big bike racers and unfortunately, it isn't even close. I think there are a lot of good guys and it sounds like you are one of the good guys. I know Ryan is a good kid, too. Maybe one day we'll get down there as it is a ton of fun. Unfortunately, I can't do every event I want like MX with my son, big bike racing and track days, OYL, Supermoto, etc. I'd be divorced in a heartbeat.
  6. It also looks like there is water in the one tire and they are outside. That's no good, either... They'd certainly not ever warrant them after knowing they've been outside...
  7. For some reason it happens with tires not mounted than tires mounted. For example, I had a set of slicks that I left outside over winter a few years ago. Was going to throw them out anyways, but when I went to get them, they looked like Gixxie's. What I think happens is that they freeze like a bottle of water. I think the cracking starts at freezing. There isn't going to be a tire company that will stand up and warrant tires you've left out in the freezing cold. ALL RACE COMPOUND TIRES SHOULD BE STORED INSIDE or in temps that do not reach below freezing for long periods or WAY below freezing for short periods... Bummer, dude, but it is something any racer should know. If they were in a garage, they should have been fine as typically the wind and such should protect them. I have a set of slicks mounted to my spare wheels in the garage and have been over winter - no cracks. Of course, they are junk, but they were really only on the wheels to roll the bike around...
  8. Great suit and for the price? HOLY SHIT!!! What a deal. I really like the black and white. I usually have only seen the black/silver/white combo. Your suit looks better than the color choices out there. Looking good! You doing some track days this year?
  9. Watch which one you pick. 125s are not for us traditional weight and sized riders... Rookie Cup riders are perfect sized for 125s. The KTMs are the cat's meow. For the rest, I would go for a 250. If you want to do the 4 stroke in a 125 chassis, it is a 250 4 stroke - not a 150... Some guys are converting 450 MX motors and putting them into 250 chassis. THTA would be a HOOOOOOT! I'd consider a 250, though unless you are Kevin Swantz and can carry STOOOPID corner speed. He was doing :38s at Mid-Ohio and he is over 6' tall and over 160lbs...
  10. Seriously, I'd check Vance's Shooter's Supply down here in CBus. Best deals on handguns I've seen. They usually aren't much more than the used market and even so, they also carry a good amount of used weapons, as well...
  11. You guys are pussies. When I have to shave, I punch out my bathroom window and use the busted glass to shave. No gel, either. Just sweat. Pussies. :DShit. When I CAN grow facial hair, it looks like I'm either 14 or I had a full beard and it caught fire. I can go two weeks and look like the Jonas Brothers. Hell, they probably can grow more facial hair than me. But, Mach3 is what I use, too.
  12. We didn't call him Rossi because we thought he was fast. Maybe his tongue, but nothing else stood out... He trying to race WERA again? We were the Big Bad Bike Guys... That was the team name... We were going off that name because the OYL guys hated us motard guys (Big 450 motards) and didn't like running practice days with us. We ran over a kid we knew and a few OYL guys started a bunch of shit. One who actually used to race with me back years ago and seemingly has been jealous ever since he had to quit and we didn't... Yeah, doubt I really try and go to any OYL events unless a few buddies are going. We might bring the ol' CRFs back out as we got a couple of new ones...
  13. Oh, and honestly, you won't be able to tell a lot of difference between the 06/07 750s and the 08/09s... They really didn't change a whole lot. Just fine tuning. Better, but not $1700 better...
  14. If cost is a concern, that maroon 750 is the way to go. The color is hideous, but to each their own. Personally, I'd get a 750. There isn't a guy on here that rides street that can remotely use a 1000 to it's potential. 750s are the best street bike and for that matter, a REALLY great track choice. I'd go for the newer 750... You'll NEVER be left behind when riding with the liter bikes. If liter bikes is what you want, the ZX10 is heads and shoulders above the CBR. The CBR is graphics and that's it. It handles nice, though and is very tame for a 1000... If you do a lot of two up riding, the 1000s might be a better choice. If that's the case, the ZX10s seat blows ass chunks. The CBR would be the best choice for that deal...
  15. You are correct and from an example that I stated a LONG while ago - I had a really close friend killed in a race at Putnam Park. He was wearing an Arai helmet and the chin bar broke cleanly off and it ripped off his head. Killed him instantly... A Vega helmet would have done the same thing... Also, I have seen numerous guys with plastic shelled helmets fall at high speed and they were fine. Seen guys fall at slow speeds with expensive helmets and get a concusion. No two accidents are the same and while they are the best choices to protect a rider, I look at the materials used, the tests performed and the way they are constructed as the basis of what I feel is good or poor quality. I look at things based on these factors - some do not. Batch testing in helmets is better than not doing so. SNELL ratings on helmets is no indicator of quality. Seam construction has a minimum and a better way of doing it. Which would you prefer when crashing. Knowing you have the best in terms of safety or the best you can afford is something that may not save your life, but it is one less thing you need to worry about. I am not willing to sacrifice safety when I ride the track. These suits are not going to be seen on the top club racers, the top National racers nor the privateers and pro riders from the AMA. Sure, you can say it has to do with money, but in the end, it is a safety deal... Now, it isn't to say they are shit suits. It is to say they are good for the entry level rider. They are and shouldn't be considered an alternative for other suits like even the Celtic or a good used high end suit...
  16. Not sure as we have covered this, but nobody on the WERA forum is a hard core racer. A lot of those guys are hacks or track day riders that don't know any better. Dave and I talked via PMs and after we did, there hasn't been anything stated from anyone. The followers like yourself are the ones that have argued and tried to say I am "talking out my ass", but none have even remotely the history of suits that allow them to say the suits are top notch and yet when someone says otherwise, they got offended (Gee, just like you) and yet they have almost zero track time to even try and use other suits as examples of why the Spartan IS a good suit. But, I never said it was a bad suit... Again, if you go back and read, I have cited NUMEROUS examples of my background and what I know concerning leather suits and street apparel. You have yet to cite anything other than seeing these "in person". It's like a car guy that has tons of knowledge about a certain category of cars - they can see things in pictures and listed specs and know what the quality is. I'm not a god to motorcycle gear, but I definitely know more than you do and the average guy. Most people appreciate me giving my advice as it can help them in deciding about their purchase. Unfortunately, you bought one of these suits so, you're either pissed you did or you cannot take someone saying the suit you have is poor quality when stood up against other suits. Look, a Yugo was a car that was cheaper, got good gas mileage and for some people, lasted and stayed together for thousands and thousands of miles. However, when stacked up against say a Honda Civic, it fell short. Not to mention if it were stacked up against a BMW. Price reflects the quality and the sum of the parts used. You seem to think otherwise, but have yet to provide any examples. This is what, the second or third time in me doing this for you? Yet you cannot understand that the saying you get what you pay for rings true in this industry... Point is that there are always winners and losers. Some items are better than others. There is no proof of leather quality, there is no product used in the building of the suit (other than Schoeller, but they do not use the tags and thus, cannot be proven unless tested) that is of known quality or known performance, there is the MINIMUM seam use (Dave showed an example of their seam use and it is the minimum used in suits for safety - others use a higher standard), the build of the suit is not as such as seen in other higher end suits. All of these things and more do NOT need to be physically seen in order to evaluate. Not sure why you keep standing on those principles. Do everyone a favor and provide me with your suit and let me look it over. Leave it with a neutral party and I can look it over, take some pics and do an evaluation. If it is as good as any other $600-$1000 suit out there, I will eat pie on this site and tell everyone you were right. I won't cut or tear it apart in any way. Or, you can call Alexa at Spyder Leather Works and ask her HONEST opinion... She's had these in person and has done work on them. I've talked with her and you can too. But, you'd rather keep saying I am an idiot, I'm a fool, that I don't know anything, that I need to have something in hand to make a judgement on and keep telling everyone on here the same thing. You are a guy that shouldn't be arguing in the case of this because you haven't owned enough suits, held enough suits in your hands, haven't owned enough gauntlet gloves to know quality, a guy who is going to buy arguably one of the best gloves (Held) on the market and use them with the cheapest suit you can buy. This is based on your mentality of having to own or have in hand these things... Please tell me when to stop. If credentials are what you require, you've proven nothing. The guys who know me know what I do and my experience. All I can say is that nowhere have a bashed these guys and their suits. I've said time and time again that you get what you pay for and you seem hell bent on using that as a basis of your comebacks. Now, me wanting to bash you? Well, you make the bed so... Do us all a favor. One, either shut up and quit bashing my background and saying things that you have no basis or start using proper examples. Two, get me that suit. You can leave it with Nick who is a Mod on here, Bornsinner, Casper, anyone. Once they give it to me, I will get you the exact proof you are asking. Then maybe you'll see I know a few things... Until then, understand that I have resources and experience that nobody else is going to have. If they do, they will echo the same things I am saying. But, as usual, it sometimes comes across as arrogance and cocky. To those that get it, it is informative and helpful.

And then you folks wonder why the local shops are going out of business... Again, you aren't going to save anything or much on CURRENT product. Companies have RSAs that prevent discounting on the web. Plus, there are VERY few companies that have the available close outs that Pony has.
  18. Uh, you can see the leather condition and seams from the BIG pictures he posted. Under your theory that you apparently need to physically see the item to comment, how can you support it is a good crash suit from the fact that you haven't physically seen the suit in question. No hateraide here, but keep drinking the illinformedaide... This is getting boarderline stupid. Why not quit while ahead? I'm more inclined to keep putting you down as opposed to the suit. The suit is sub $500 and the quality is what it is. You want to sacrifice safety for cost? Cool. I've constantly stated that. However, arguing with someone like yourself is classic and always makes my day. Keep 'em coming...
  19. Raced a good while ago. You and Henderson (Or Rossi as we like to call him) were all there. We won the overall and our class on a clapped out CRF100... I don't have time honestly as the big bike stuff takes too much of my time along with everything else I do. Thanks for the offer, though...
  20. Not on the dirt. I was refering to dirt added... I think sub :50s on just paved for me... My CRF100 is slower than your NSR... But, we did win that endurance race at Beaver on stock CRFs, so... who knows I guess... Well, let me rephrase that - Mark MAY have run :45s including the dirt... He's heads and shoulders above the other guys down there...
  21. I think you're right. I apologize, guys. I was thinking it was a 2006... My bad. I act like I know everything, but I unfortunately don't. I is dumb about sum things! By the way, get my email? I got some mud flaps for ya too! If you want them...
  22. S8... Gotcha. Same platform, just sport tuned suspension and higher output motor. Still not a sports car... Great car, but not sport...
  23. When I cross reference pictons even after market with a place like Tucker Rocky, I get different part numbers, as well... BUT, I look at cylinder kits aftermarket and they are the same part numbers... Hmmm.... Intake valves are different... Cams are shoing the same.... So, my thoughts are that they shared some things, but not all things... What the hell??? They told us at the dealer meetings I attended they were only similar on things that were smaller... I know it isn't what they say as the Kaw's little ATV was made by Kymco, but when the merger deal came around, everyone wanted to know... I apologize for wrong or misleading info. Nonetheless, have fun!!!
