  1. The difference lies in return customers. Those other dealers are living only because they pull people solely based on the price. When it all counts, those customers usually do not return. Look inside those dealers and REALLY look around. If they DID have a large customer base that is returning to buy bikes, parts, accessories, etc., do you think they'd look like the shit holes they do? Dealers that have been bleeding for years are going to be in trouble from this point forward. ASK will probably stick around due to the fact they can condense shops and inventory and still live. Hinds? I know they are not in the best financial situation from what a lot of people have said. Although rumors, it seems that in this industry, it is a very small circle and the truth is usually occuring moreso than the fiction part. I think in the end, HNW and Pony will be the go to shops for the immediate CBus area. Other shops surrounding CBus will grow due to the fact that MOC has gone bye-bye and the fact that ASK sucks. Hinds is never on the top of the list of dealers selling units in large numbers. They may squeek through due to low inventory, but I think they won't do well or be a factor...
  2. Put it this way - couple of guys rode thyem in the WERA series - they were a handful and that was WELL prepared race set-ups. When I say handful, the other bikes in it's class were easily running faster pace with less effort with at least the same set-up. MVs are cool. Eye candy and even have decent performance. However... Take a stock 09 GSXR1000 and put $14k into it. Result? MV killer... Sure, the GSXR is like everyone else's bike you'll see and you'd get something that not everyone else has when owning an MV, but in this class of bike, if you buy something simply to stand out, you live in excess and don't care about performance. Now, if you're loaded and have tons of money, having one in the garage is cool. But, if you have a choice and want the best bike, this one ain't it...
  3. Yeah, I think they used the word "for" instead of "of". I believe that can get them in a load of trouble, too. I think in Ohio is isn't allowed to use play on words when trying to get customers in their store...
  4. Dude, no thread jack at all. I don't have a business so, no hair off my back. Hell, I don't even have a cutter yet!! It's all good.
  5. The PLOTTERS are expensive. I'm looking for a cutter primarily. A plotter/cutter would be great so I could print multi color stickers... But, they are out of my range. As far as everything else, it really is pretty cheap. Weeding the vinyl is easy, too. Of course, it is what I used to do as part of my job years ago...
  6. They are based out of Florida. If you call the BBB, you SHOULD be able to get the info from them. No matter what, unless they declare bankruptcy, they still owe you if that's the case...
  7. Dude, relax. Seriously. The stuff you've been looking at is shit. It isn't like saving money on a Shoei. If they were Woodcraft, Vortex, Sato, etc. and you were getting a good deal, I'd say "sure". However, the sites you ask about have had others saying they were crappy products. Knock off stuff essentially. Like buying a Vega helmet that looks like a Shoei... It's like saying a Chinese pitbike is the same as a CRF50. It isn't. May be cheaper, but in the long run it is going to cost as much and you'll have more headaches. Just trying to help ya out. Jeeeez.... Buy what ya want. It's your bike, for sure. I'd just think to go and look at stuff that is quality vs. price...
  8. Damn, dude... You and Flounder get all the cool toys... I am looking for one of those AK-47 styled jobies with composite bodies... Know any place?
  9. Dude, do yourself a favor and quit looking at these cheapo places for stuff for your new ride. You have a great bike now, treat it right. At least talk with Justin at Pony and see what he recommends. You buying junk for your ride is only going to turn to shit and have you buying the good stuff later. Save the hassle and buy legit stuff...
  10. Where's our boy Smokey with all the insider info? Is he still got a job there?
  11. If I get a machine, I'll let you know. I can always help out an OR guy. I'll keep ya posted.
  12. Used head bolts is like buying a used cam. NEVER a good idea...
  13. So... how 'bout that list of parts and I can compare prices??
  14. Actually, any racer that is sponsored has permission to run the stickers or logos... I'd simply charge for time and not the sticker... As far as anything else, the short answer is "yes", but it isn't a business so, it is purely for fun and to help racers and track day junkies...
  15. The business owners will have to deal with any legal issues. They wouldn't be passed on to another buyer...
  16. The bolts are not hardware grade bolts like you'd find at a hardware store for much less. They are specific and prone to stretching and are considered wearable items. It sucks, but honestly, a little more patience and knowledge and you'd save over $60. I'd pretty much have the guy who tried to help you go at LEAST halves...
  17. Ok, I have decided that I want to get a vinyl cutter and do mono-color sponsor graphics for friends and people wanting their bikes to have sponsor stickers that are not all colors of the rainbow. That being said, I am obviously not going into business and don't need a $3k set-up. Something no bigger than 24" wide and that is only a cutter. Although a plotter would be great... Anyways, what does anyone have to say about cutters out there? Anyone know of someone selling one? I have software to set things into path, etc. I have also gathered about 50 companies from SUomy to EK Chains to Repsol to whatever... You get the idea... Anyways, input?
  18. I agree on the bothered part, I was referring to the parts department part of the post. As far as the "bothered" part, realize that there are always two sides to every story. A lot of times, comments like "They seemed bothered" is an opinion. Sharing one's experience in a neutral manner can sometimes be clouded with one's opinion and not give a true representation of what really happened. A lot of people can mis-read others easily. Especially different personality types. I just think that sometimes, we forget that... Another note is that typically, you don't get threads with people saying how wonderful their experiences are. They usually only post when they have a negative issue to report. Just the way it goes. Do something good for someone, they usually tell 5 people. Do something bad in someone's eyes, they usually tell 50 people...
  19. What happened to the badge on the triple that the Champions Edition had? You might want to provide the VIN outside the last 6 numbers to verify to potential buyers...
  20. I personally like the call in customer that when asked what year Honda they have, the comment is "The red one from 20xx". Or the guy who has his wife call and he is telling her the info as she is being asked... People are silly sometimes and with the fact that one can use online fische finders, I have no idea why people expect dealers to know EXACTLY where to find parts for HOW MANY bikes they have in existance for one brand - let alone multiple. Trust me when I say Tom and the boys at HNW know their parts or where to look for them... Sounds like it was an obscure part that the customer wasn't too sure on and it became an Easter Egg hunt...
  21. Guys - this is a KILLER deal. What you need to understand is that 35 Motorsports can do AMA caliber work on your street bike, track day bike, and race bike. If you are about to spend money on your ride, suspension is at the top of the list of things to do first. Want more results than anything you can ever do? Suspension.
  22. As far as the graphics, they can be translated via the codes. It takes a bit of time on the counter guy's end, but can easily be found. If it was an OEM colorway and you had the proper year, you can get what you want and if they order it wrong, there's no dealership going to charge a restocking fee for an error on their end. Now, if you gave them just "I need red for my CBR" and they have to sort out a bunch of years, I'd say you are asking for the moon almost and unless the counter guy is an avid CBR hard core fan, they may have a tough time finding it...
  23. Man, never heard of you. Did you use to run that fancy GLRRA series?
