If you are looking for Great PowderCoated...ShittyGSXR
Moto-Brian replied to BornSinner's topic in Daily Ride
So, anyone have info as to who can do wheels? I'm talking car/truck wheels - I know bike wheels suck balls with the bearings and all... Info?? -
Ok, two guys looking... One at the Martin and one at the Bayliss... So, we'll call those tentative. Anyone interested in the others? Make offers if you think the prices are whack. I think they are pretty fair considering the lids come with two shields and are like new...

My hope is that they sell off the racing side of things to a legit and good promoter and get the racing side of things back to where they ought to be. I think they can and I think the AMA focusing on what they do best (Rider Rights) is perfect. They do us all a great service there and I hope they continue. The racing side? They tried and are now at least humble enough to realize someone else needs to drive the bus. Good on them to realize it and not run it into the ground. I actually am a happy member at what I am seeing right now - only if they get it sorted...

As far as the museum goes, the actual museum I guess is staying (Most hope). They are moving the "Motocross America" exhibit to San Diego. There is also a BUNCH of internal stuff going on and many think it is about to implode. Stories of money being stolen, etc. My buddy was getting his bikes out before anything happened as they are very valuable and pretty much priceless... So, apologies for saying the museum is moving. It is the exhibit itself that is...

Because AMA Pr Racing is a laughing stock and has been a bit of a joke for years and years. MANY racers including Pro Level guys complain and point out how the AMA bungles up all the time. We see it even more as privateers. The last being the AMA race at Mid-Ohio. Privateers got the shaft in a BIG way. Too many examples to point out here. Because of them I can race? Are you kidding me? Not until recent when WERA became AMA sanctioned, I was racing with them and making money. I joined AMA so I could race Pro events. Not until recent, WERA was where I made my racing timeline occur. Now, racers with WERA need to join the AMA. AMA is a great organization for street riders and teh rights for riders everywhere. Sure. They fight the fight for MX tracks, they continue to hold back governments who want the trail systems gone, etc. They definately have a part. However, I don't race because of them...

I didn't say the AMA was moving. I was saying the museum was or rather, it was being talked about... Jesus. A little touchy, eh? Oh, I'm a member - only because I HAVE to be...

I'll get the whole 411 from my buddy. His name is Mark Hildebrand and has two pretty amazing bikes in the museum that he pulled today. His contract expired in January and he wanted to get them out. He stated they were sending it to San Diego... I'll verify from him. How do YOU justify your side? Apparently, you think I am pulling stuff out of my ass yet I have a pretty reliable source in a guy with bikes in there. And we're not talking F3s... Rare stuff...

Got a few Suomy lids I need to get rid of to make room for the new ones... All are size Medium All are used, but in damn near mint condition. Used very little as I always have about 4 new helmets a year or at one time. So, the interiors are clean and everything is great... 1) Suomy Spec1R Bayliss White: Like new with a few knicks from track debris. Typical. I can remove all the stickers, too. Comes with smoke tinted shield (Best choice vs. dark smoke) and will have the clear one with it, too... Shield has tear off posts. Was thinking $175 FIRM as they are on close out for $499... 2) Suomy Spec1R Martin Silver/White: SOLD!!! 3) Suomy Spec1R Eagle in White: SOLD!!! 4) Suomy Spec1R Flower in Metallic Olive: SOLD!! 5) Suomy Gunwind Xaus Replica: SOLD!!

Since Drew is doing his own thread and I didn't want to thread jack his... I have two sets right now, but will have plenty more as the season progresses. I run the Michelin Pilot Races with the PRC front. The rears are 190/55s and in the Medium compound. They would be better suited for drag racers as the edges are worn to the point I wouldn't feel right to sell to a track day guy. The fronts are solid, though... As I progress and get more tires, I will sell them off at $145 a set. Will have WAY better wear than what I have available now. The ones I have for drag guys (Centers are perfect) are available for $50 a set. I don't want to break it up, but if someone wants only a rear - $75... I will be running the NEW Pilot Races when they come available in May/June, but overall, the current ones are great.... Hit me up or keep me in mind.

Buddy is heading there today to pick up his two bikes that are there. The museum is heading out to somewhere like San Diego and with all the crap going on with the AMA and the one guy in charge no longer there, I'd say this is going to end badly for them... Not busting balls, but looks like it is leaving us so why push anything related to it if it isn't going to be around any longer. It isn't like this is a deal to try and keep it here... It's more like a quick push to make some dough before they pull out... Prizes are cool, though...

True dat...

It is when you consider the design was piss poor... Especially when they did an update on the 08s... However, even with that, I think WERA is requiring all R6s in that body style to have them "just in case"...
-
Major issue. So much, in fact that WERA is making it mandatory for the R6 guys to have tank protectors... Bad news for these R6 guys for sure that do track days...

I work in the motorcycle industry. They are an account of mine. I also do race support for three of their racers...

Great family owned shop and will be looking even better when they do more renovations. Brad, Dave, Brian, Jason, Mike, Josh, and the rest of the crew are GOOD people. They treat you right, have a small town feel when you walk in and they actually care about you as a customer and a person. Kinda rare anymore. Glad to see you bought from them.

VERY important note on core... The inner core is longer than the cannister body. It goes into the inlet cap and outlet cap. Therefore, you need to measure that distance. Example, if you cut the outlet tip end, measure how far up into the cap it goes. Add that amount to your length cut off for the cannister body. Otherwise, the inner core will float inside and therfore cause issues... Oh, and too short causes issue with mid range and sorts... No biggie, but doesn't add power, but can cause the mid range to drop or increase depending on what you do... We cut our cannisters and it helped a tad. Hurt top end a bit, but nothing of a concern... Just watch the inner core length. Love 'em short!!

Since Drew threw the smack down... Here's mine: 2005 GSXR750 -More HP than Drew's -Better paint that nets more speed than Drew's -Rider is MUCH better looking than Drew -Isn't as gay as Flounder's 750 -Stickers are properly placed for maximum aerodynamic efficiency -Does wheelies -Less annoying exhaust tone -

My bikes gots all sorts of speeds, yo. It's Gangsta style fast!!!:D:D -
PCV Valve was fine. You were wrong. It was a clogged breather hose, numbskull... Cost? $2k, but I get a bigger housing and a higher performing compressor wheel and a better chip with more power and easier settings. So, turns out to be a plus, I guess. I just didn't want to shit $2k right now...

Shitty- Can you do truck wheels? My dually needs the wheels powder coated and I have a set for my pile car that I'd like done... -
I got an idea - quit using the two tweeks and a grunt method of putting bolts in next time. Jesus...
-
They're called "ball ends" retards... T-handles or allen wrenches with "ball ends".... Skilled techs, I see... T-handles are great. Reasons that Rocky mentioned. They are easy to spin on and off if you use them for removing bolts that are on and off a lot. I.E. race stuff. Drill idea is bad. Small impact is "OK", but still an issue in that a lot of common bolts are at 7 ft lbs at most. Stuff like triple clamp bolts and such should NEVER be put on with a drill/impact. Only things for an impact to do is counter shaft nut (Flounder has the wrong type of impact!!) and the axle nuts/bolts. I still only use an impact on the axle nuts/bolts in endurance scenerios. Anytime outside that - socket and ratchet is best...

Moto-Brian replied to lemosley01's topic in LBTS GLWS
Guys, this will fit ANY sportbike with spools - simply pull or push the arms together to fit... Simple. Great and cheap price for a decent stand. -
