Buy my over priced katana!! - $3200 (columbus)
Moto-Brian replied to Strictly Street's topic in Dumpster
Bet that he just got done with a "Sweet ass ride" wearing those shorts, no shirt (He must work out) and fag bag... Wow... Raped Ape it is!! -
Yup, getting it through DTM-Brian. I sent him an email off SCT's site and he responded, but didn't even put 2 and 2 together. He PMd me here and we are working it out. I am probably going to swing by and pick it up tomorrow... It's a plug and play so, I will not have to drive the guzzler down to CBus. Anyways, as for MS stuff, I usually travel up early morning Sunday and leave after the sprints. I might do the Mini 20 races this year, but not sure... My idea was to leave early AM Sunday and get back same day...

If ya wanna hook up over here and travel over in the rig and trailer, we can for Putnam. Hell, we can do something for the Nelson and Beaver rounds also... Just let me know. I am getting an SCT tuner for the van this week!! BOOOYA!!

I'd also like to know when they are planning race events... I was talking to the guys from Commonwealth and that was news to them... Racing will add a bit of cost as they need more corner workers and a third possible EMT unit. They should have two anytime, but the additional is so the event doesn't get shut down if one EMT unit is gone. $180 is pretty steep for Putnam... $15 more and you get a much better track for sure, but Putnam is pretty awesome and I would suggest at least trying it.

It isn't bad in the morning. The guys that say ice skating rink when cold are just nervous. Is it slower? Yes. Is it slippery? Yes to a degree... We were about 7 seconds slower in practice when it was 45 degrees one year on DOT race tires with a harder compound as we knew the races would be warmer. It is fine and will take a little control on your part early to avoid ham fisting the throttle as you will be on your head. BUT, remember, they are all that way - every track - as pavement is less grippy in cold weather than warmer weather and before the sun hits it or the dew gets burned off... Putnam ain't no treat in the cold, either...

I'll give him first dibs. But, yes - it will work on your bike also. They are the same tank and will use the same mount...

Replacing my clutch tonight... mechanic's opinions?
Moto-Brian replied to magley64's topic in Tech and Tips
You might want to check the adjuster also. Too many guys run the adjuster freakin tight! There needs to be some slack in the lever where you essentially think it is loose. I believe that 5mm is a normal amount, but would have to refresh memory and look at the manual. Again, too many guys never keep slack in the lever and they are running them tight. That ain't good, folks... -
Replacing my clutch tonight... mechanic's opinions?
Moto-Brian replied to magley64's topic in Tech and Tips
I would have also replaced the clutch and got a kit with springs also. Typically, the springs are getting worn especially at those kind of miles... It sounds like you are not hard on clutches which is a great thing. Also, (doubt it is an issue) check the basket for wear. Even though the clutch fibers and steels look fine, there can be issue with the basket itself. Again, doubt this is an issue, but a lot of times, you cannot see anything unless you properly clean and degrease the basket and look for cracks or wear... Sounds like you got 'er though. Good luck!! -
Again, it is only coming with a Bill of Sale. It will not have a "junk" title... He can apply for a new title once inspected...
-
Hey man, I found a Scotts stearing damper for your bike. Well, it is the Scotts with the proper mount for the tank. Make me an offer or if not, I will ebay the thing. I cannot use it anymore...
-
Unless they do smog testing, it is identical no matter where you go. It is simply a deal to have it inspected, get a title... The Highway Patrol is a place to go and shouldn't be an issue anywhere in particular. But, if it is, that is an easy skip...

Bell addresses this issue with the shield they have that transitions... That being said, is it really a fad if not many people use them? Meaning, I know maybe 1-2 guys wearing this type of helmet. I know a LOT of snowmobilers wearing a similar idea, but they need something like this and it is more Air Force Pilot styled and works much better. I wouldn't call it a fad. I would call it a gimmick more than anything...

SHIFT 1 piece road race suits for sale - QTY (2)
Moto-Brian replied to Moto-Brian's topic in LBTS GLWS
Both are sold! Lock 'er up! -
I have a pair of the Fox Main Pro pair of goggles - you choose from three styles that are brand new, 3 different lenses for the goggles brand new and some tear offs. I will also let the V3 go for $130 with everything. That's a pretty smokin deal, folks!!

Bump for a great Bell Star. Is $175 a better price?

how many miles have you put on a set of tires?
Moto-Brian replied to oldschoolsdime92's topic in Daily Ride
I got two 10 lap sprints out of a set of UK Dunlop Slicks before. That was pushing it as they were pretty toast... -
If it comes with a bill of sale only, just take it and fix it and apply for a title and just say that the bike was crashed and needs inspected to be street legal here in Ohio. You can maybe go to a salvage dealer (Isn't there one as a sponsor on here?) and ask them, but it really shouldn't be any different than taking a off road only title and getting it listed as a street title. In Ohio, it is one of the easiest states to get street titles for anything...

He's asking over $8k, dude... We all made some comments and he seems to think we are all out of touch... Just sayin. I also agree and have mentioned the fact that he can ask whatever he wants and most likely will get what he asks. If he asks $6500 for what he posted, that's a different story and falls into where I am suggesting makes sense...But, you are off by about $1300... WE WERE suggesting $6500...

I think a majority of these RC51 guys asking crazy amounts of money are just not getting what is considered valuable... Just because the bike doesn't exist anymore (there's a significant reason as to why), doesn't mean it turns to gold. Here's an example of a delusional RC51 guy: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2002-Honda-RC30-51-/290670612535?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item43ad519037#v4-48 Here's a guy that is asking the same amount and at least has some reasoning as to why it could fetch $10k... http://www.speedzilla.com/forums/honda-sport-twins-classifieds/63578-04-rc51-sale.html $1700 difference and betting old boy would take less, just isn't worth the difference... But again, the $10k price tag in the first link reminds me about RC51 owners... Well, only some as it appears all the sane ones are members here with their reasonable offers on their own RCs...

A collector would want it original. I personally do not see any value of aftermarket parts for a street bike. The suspension is a value. Not worth as much as he thinks and it doesn't have to be an RC thang. It's just plain math that the parts are cheap and the penske can be converted from another model bike so, it isn't a rare deal. As for the exhaust, you could argue the value to a degree, but again, Sato isn't the best option anyways for that bike. It's a great system, but not a big amazing thing to be added. Now, if he had the full Akra system, maybe... The heli-bars? On a sportbike?? Anyways, it is simply a deal where a guy doesn't really look at what is realistic. I see a RC on Ebay with 4200 miles and similar mods as most have with these bikes and he's asking $5995 and would most likely take $500 less I would bet. So, $5500. Add this guy's suspension and "mods" and you could ask $6500 and be reasonable. Reasonable, though... Over $8k is insane and again, he will probably sell it to some dude off the RC boards that just has to have one...

These guys are part of a team of motorcycle cops that actually perform around the US. The guys do this every year and they do it on I70 when escorting officials, etc like mentioned. The media is simply stabbing at shit to get stories and the cop on the film saying he didn't know is probably a nobody that knows who these guys are and is simply being PC about it. They probably now have to slap the wrist of the cop since it was a news story... Totally BS. You should see these guys perform. It's freakin amazing on these 700 lb HDs...

Grape- The issue is that dealers are not getting used bikes right now. They are pulling REALLY stupid figures at the auction because these guys are taking and paying big bucks for bikes and shipping over seas. They are not going here... So, the used market by view of some dealers and some sellers seems really good to get a high figure. Great if a guy in Germany wants your bike. Not so great when you wanna sell it locally... Someone is out there for every guy's price for sure. He will sell it...
