That thing is sweet. Black on black with a well thought out lift. NICE!!

Wow, someone got butt hurt or is a buddy with Scruit. Unless of course, you prescribe to the same notion that guys that have lifted trucks have small peni. Or, maybe you think it is ok to slander people with blanket statements... But hey, I somewhere or at some time offended you and you still are upset. That's cool. But hey, if you agree with Scruit's mentality, I guess you have that right, but I know a good number of guys on here and they aren't shallow or attention whores so, I am standing up for them... I don't know about being the safest driver, but I do bet I have twice the reaction time of you... Ooooops... Did I just say that out loud?

I just got an implant so, I guess I gotta buy a Smart Car now...

Trust me, I get what you are saying and what you typically say on here... The ABS comment may take a little time to digest, but here's a tip... You basically were saying it is silly to have something you really don't need... Get it now? Your sig is a great place to start... Now, if you wanna stronger reaction from me, you can keep pushing and I'll retort in a manner that may deflate your ego... What I really hate is that you are making a blanket statement that a LOT of guys on here fall into really. I have a big ol truck. Sold it and now am running a lifted van. Probably to compensate for a small wiener according to you. Hell, I have an FJ Cruiser that I have actually done some off roading with, but probably have two times a smaller wiener than most so, I have two useless vehicles cause I wanna just look the part... Same with Madcat and others. All these guys with lifted trucks aren't near as hard core as Billy Bad Ass with an old Bronco. Then again, they don't have a motorcycle that has gadgets that aren't needed... The point is that you are making comments that are bullshit. Your comments above are what YOU say. Understand this. If my dad buys the new BMW M3 and doesn't track it, is he pretending or starving for attention? If I buy an MX bike and only ride trails with it, am I buying an image and posing to be a racer? How about this? People can actually buy things that THEY LIKE!! Wow!! What a neato concept!! Some people do buy for image and yes, they deserve a royal ass chewing by the ever so critical Scruit. But, remember that there are a lot of us on here that fit into the small penis category that you so describe. Yes, even guys that are not needing crutches to ride a motorcycle... See how that works? Back to your regularly scheduled program...

What does Wrobel, Neyranuts and myself run? Hmmmmmm.... Don't hate the player, hate the game... I'm with the other blokes in that race tires are not a needed item. HOWEVER, the idea is that you WILL get faster and I personally think that if you are running at Nick and Craig's pace, race tires are a good idea. Look at it this way... Race tires will allow you to do things a little more with less fuss from the tires. Will dual compounds work fine? SURE! Hell, Edwards ran a MotoGP bike with them and ran some seriously stupid times. That wasn't at race distance, however... Anyways, to each their own, but I agree with the two dudes.

Suddenly the Honda Element doesn't look too bad
Moto-Brian replied to Casper's topic in Pics and Vids
I swear a guy came to the track and had his bike loaded in one of these. I was amazed. Pretty damn coolio. -
Atta boy!

tbutera- These are all comments from guys that never have owned real trucks. They see them as needing to pull a trailer for weekend trips or a quick blast to the Home Depot to pick up a pail of Quickrete... I can attest that a 4 door with an 8' bed is even at times not enough. While I agree at getting the longest bed possible, that's coming from a guy that hauls motorcycles and wants to be able to close the tailgate. However, many a guys have had short beds and used them fine. That's why there are so damn many optional packages...

Just like guys that have ABS and really don't need the "crutch"? Lifted trucks are for guys with small penis, eh? Sounds like you might be envious. The Chevy is actually quite nice and very clean when seen in person. It isn't a Raptor for sure... Or an 87 Bronco...

Thanks everyone. I actually put a best offer bid on a system and got everything. All Kenwood. Now, I just need some upgraded 6x8 speakers and a subwoofer. I'm car audio stupid so, anyone know a thing or two, I am all ears!

Well, unless you are in europe, you'd have to import the things. You can check out MAN trucks all over the internet, but outside a toy or model, you better have some deep pockets to import one. They weigh just a tad...
-
Hmmmmm... Looks vaguely familiar... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Actually, MAN rigs are freakin amazing. Our Dakar support rig is the same thing, but with a longer box and is definitely similar inside. They can live in this thing for however long they need to... Dunno. Don't really care. If I did, I would have bought a Nissan Leaf and quit with hauling anything a long time ago... In all seriousness, not much worse than the diesel got. But, again... I didn't buy it for MPG concerns.

2002 E-250 Cargo Van, You wont find a cleaner one.
Moto-Brian replied to THE GRUNDISH's topic in Other Stuff
I would have bought this van had I not wanted a V10 or diesel. This is STUPID clean and is so well priced that you'd be silly not to consider it. The great thing about vans is that they allow you to keep everything dry and secluded vs a pick up truck. The 5.4L is a great motor and this van has awesome miles. GLWS, but I suspect that once you go Ebay or C/L, you'll sell it fast! -
So, have got a few updates and the ball is rolling along. Got the windows tinted at Xpertint in Amelia by Sir Steve Shields. Does a fucking awesome job and is as professional and perfect as it can ever be. Made the thing look amazing... Before pic at the start of the thread, but here it is with tint: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Yesterday, received a skid full of yummy goodness! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here are the parts for the lift. The workmanship is absolutely amazing. So damn good and so above the traditional stuff guys are using to lift their vans... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Here's a couple of examples of the welding that goes on. Nothing is cast and nothing is done half ass: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Did the shock upgrade also for all around: Uploaded with ImageShack.us And the steering stabilizer setup: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Did the rear wheel spacers to give it an equal stance front to back. Also helps with handling and allows for larger wheels and tires... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Did some cosmetic upgrades also. Front brush guard hand made by Action Van. Same workmanship as seen in the lift kit. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Lights go on top of the main bar like so: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Bought some fender flares to widen the look and to protect the body from debris from the bigger wheels and tires... Uploaded with ImageShack.us Also got a spare tire carrier from a company called Aluminess that does these for the vans in all aluminum. Pretty amazing stuff and will allow the spare to be hauled around like what you see on Jeeps and like my FJ: Uploaded with ImageShack.us Last but not least in the kit, I got some new wheels. American Racing's ATX wheels in 17s with Teflon coating. All 5 are gonna look sweet!! Will be wrapped in some beefy skins! Uploaded with ImageShack.us Pretty much it for now. Hoping to start this thing next weekend and have it done soon. I'll leave the stocker wheels and tires on for winter and then have the good stuff on for Spring. Will have the wheels and tires on initially to get it aligned and setup and will take pics once completed!

Correct, sir!

If you saw this guy's pics, you'd know that $6k is probably cheap. He's an amazing photographer and hopefully gets some seriously great jobs in the coming years. PS, Kyle - I need to see about getting some of the pics at the last event you were at... I keep forgetting...
-
Now that you got all that stuff, but a Graves and get a real system... That way, we won't look over at you, point and laugh. OK, maybe it will be directed at Andy, but you get the idea...
-
I actually have a better idea. How about people quit living outside their means? This way, when they have barely enough money to buy that new house and over extend themselves, they don't go into foreclosure and blame the banks for their troubles. Take responsibility and look how much you make and decide whether or not a house is a smart idea...
-
Uh... OK. You'd ride a bumpy and rough track and transition to a smooth and new track? Good luck on set-up! The track is rough. At under 1:00 lap times, you are out of the seat numerous times. Cool track and easily something that can be ridden, but the idea of building an extension and not doing a single thing to the existing track is crazy. Plus, that back turn where the armco is so close, is VERY dangerous. As you run through that dog leg left at speed, it is rough and at the braking point, if you crash there, well... Armco is coming fast as seen this year by the guy that got injured pretty bad there...
-
Hey, at least you re-pack it. 9 out of 10 guys never re-pack them and they sound like Andy singing... Also, your priorities are perfectly in order.
-
Not sure what the guy is thinking as the pics are saying they were working on the paddock to make it possible for semi trucks to u-turn. They really need to widen that area even for bigger motorhomes and such. Its pretty tight with the guys pitting on the pavement... I would say they probably intend on doing the south course, but again, the main track needs a refresh and either they may do it all at once or they should do a phase 1 on the main and then do the south...
-
Shouldn't be an issue at all. The problem is usually with race plastic as it tends to fit a little tighter at the lowers and they tend to get burnt from the headers or mid-pipes. The thing is that the headers will be larger in dia. for sure, but they usually plumb them so they will fit.
-
What do you have now?
-
Look, you have a great bike that deserves a great exhaust. Toce, Two Brothers, etc are piles of shit that are wastes of money. Go with something like Leo, Akra, Graves, etc. You have two choices... Slip-on. They are more than aesthetic. They are functional in that they will net some gain. If you PC the bike with the slip-on, you'll get gains. You also get a really amazing sound also... Full System. The OEM does have Ti headers, but understand a few little things. One, the OEM has smaller headers, pinched air flow, etc. The fact is that if the OEM was "just as good", the factory teams would run them. Not a single team does... The Ti is there because it helps meet a lower weight for the tests. It doesn't mean shit as to what the cannisters are made of, the header is Ti, etc. The full system isn't as good as a aftermarket GOOD system like the Akra. The idea should be that if you wanna go squid and don't have any money, buy a 2 Bros, buy a slash cut system with no packing that will make people's ears bleed when you roll by. You'll be the envy of every doucher on the planet. OR, save a bit more and even look at some race or track day sites and find a great used system. Buy a PC or Bazzaz and get it dialed and you'll never understand why you didn't do it sooner... A full system properly dialed is a thing of beauty in terms of delivery and hidden potential of that bike. Not to mention the glorious sound... Graves and Akra have a LOT of race knowledge and know what that bike is capable of with a good system. Don't do Yosh unless you go with their high end. If it is polished, it isn't high end. It's called bling and is usually a farmed out system they sell for show and not so much go. If you get a true Yosh system that is built in house, it will be raw and not a single polished spot on it... Power is beautiful, not chrome or shiney.... Anyways, at the end of the day, get what you can afford. If it were me and I had a $1200 budget, I would get a used system off the WERA site, save until I can get more or buy a good Akra slip-on system and PC...
