Wow. Dude, did you ever ride the thing? Talk about showroom clean. This is a real beauty and definitely a great deal. You might wanna post over on the Junkies site as they have a good contingency of sumo riders there... This is a smoking deal, folks!

OK... Having dealt with both brands and both of these models and while biased towards Suzukis, I will explain below. The reason the "squids" like the Suzukis are because they are the most represented brand at the track these days and many prior. Yamaha is pushing to become the most represented as almost everybody racing is running an R6. The fact is that the Honda is lower on power, has essentially the same design and will feel similar. The Honda may feel a bit smaller to you, but honestly, the GSXR is a great track weapon. It is also going to be a better street bike if desired because of the low end grunt and the overall feel. As for working on them, they are both pretty easy. The Suzukis are easier to make track worthy and remove things as they are really designed more towards race than the Hondas are. I can also tell you that a 750 is a better choice than a 600. The fact is that they are the same weight (within minimal pounds) have the same chassis geometry essentially and have more power. The problem is that most the fast guys are on 600s and if they were on 750s, they'd go faster. It's a fact. BUT, the truth is that they are close and I can attest that a fast guy or "squid" as they seemingly are called, can wax you on an EX500 if you were on a 1000. The deal lies in the rider vs the bike. So, fast rider on the 750 and the same fast rider on the 600 and you'll see faster lap times on the 750... So, here's where I tell you why I am biased. I think Suzuki is a better machine when we talk track. Street? I don't really think in those terms as it ends up being more a comfort, preference for color, size, etc that come into play. Track bikes aren't comfortable, they aren't softer to run over bridge seams and not be harsh, they aren't quiet so you don't have to wear ear plugs when riding, etc. They are tools to be used in an environment that they were designed for. Battle. The Suzuki has more "squids" at the track days, at the races, etc. The idea that there are more people running them lends itself to be easier to get info about issues, info about setup, info as to what to do with the bike if it is fighting you, etc. There is also an abundance of parts available online and at the track should you need them if you had an issue, etc. In the end, you are going to get everyone from riders that have only had Hondas or Suzukis to veterans that have more seat time on more bikes than a magazine editor and all the while, it doesn't mean shit. It's up to YOU and what YOU want and what YOU expect to get. Don't let the concern over faster guys worry you. Always someone faster and it doesn't matter what they are on. Don't listen to the minimal class structure. Most guys run no more than 4 races a weekend and the bike fits at minimal, 4 classes. Don't worry about what is going to be easier to sell, either as both bikes are pretty fair on price. In the end, tell us what you want to do and understand that street use is going to be a toss up, but more low end grunt and more power can be an asset on the street. At the track, the 750 is going to have an edge and really, vs the Honda, it is going to be easier to ride quickly. BUT, understand that it is like a big dirt bike vs a smaller cc dirt bike. The bigger bike allows you to be lazy and probably not be as aggressive and stiull go quickly. A smaller bike asks you to step up in speed and ability to go as fast. I think that in this case, they are so close, it is really up to you... I prefer the zook, but I am partial to the 05 750: Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Had a few buddies run these in the Seca II Challenge. The bikes were crazy! However, they eat oil like Pez and they handle EXTREMELY well. Don't let the long wheelbase fool you. Even with SB builds, they were not powerful enough to break loose. TONS of outside passing while WOT... But, many removed the starters and were a FLOUNDER to bump start. Great racing, though and definitely took a back seat the day Suzuki introduced the SV...

Too big and bulky... Also, they have turbo related issues... Lots of money once they close to 100k...

Dude, that first one is the SHIZNIT! How ya been, stranger?

We got everything laid out yesterday and today and tomorrow look to be sunny and in the 50s. Pretty awesome weather since it won't be a smoker as far as heat nor freezing like last year (We had snow when we woke up)... They are also doing their Turkey Run and is a great and fun time. Come on out!! A few dealers will be attending so when you ride the new 450 XCW and have to have one, you can talk to the source!

What's a legit site to check for something like that? I was kinda hoping for someone with a used one that may be interested in a trade for my dually to prevent me from having to buy and then sell or vice versa...
-
Ok, so thinking of a cargo van with a diesel motor. I prefer a 7.3 Ford, but willing to talk gas motors as well as Chevy... I would like to consider trading for my dually. Cash, plus cash, you give me cash plus, etc... 3 colors only - Black, White or Silver/Grey. XL length preferred, but will look at a standard. No windows in back sides. OK at the side door if need be, but that's the most. Windows in the back doors is OK also... Anyone?

Whoa. Jess is a doll and I wouldn't even get close to doing that. She's too nice to treat that way. Or do you mean "jessica Rabbit" above? I don't know her well, but she was always nice also... All the girls there are great.

Man, I remember why I enjoyed visiting so much! I do miss you guys, though. I need to swing by and say hey. And smack Lenny in the nuts.

trade your shotgun for my Pit-Bull TRS? (or leathers?)
Moto-Brian replied to redkow97's topic in Dumpster
I'd rather do cash, also and have it in hand and can PayPal asap. I am thinking of a price, but not sure what he is offering. Let me know if it falls through. -
Galion, but obviously can travel to get the tires mounted and such. I stated AT or MT and am really looking more at the A/T KOs or similar as that's what I currently have on the dually. Yes, I want a Load Range E tire for the Dually and whatever works on the FJ Cruiser. I am more concerned about getting the QTY (5) tires for the Cruiser than the dually right now.
-
Looking for QTY (5) 285/75/16 all terrain or mud terrain tire set for my FJ. Brands like BFGoodrich, Toyo, Maxxis, etc., etc... Anyone got something like that? I also may need QTY (6) tires for the dually also, but not right at the same time. Well, unless the deal is sweet and I cannot decline.

All XTs... Well, anything recent at least...

So, I have an 870, but not really wanting to trade it. But, I might be willing. All black with composite stock. Bone stock entirely. MAYBE 50 rounds through it. Just got it in the spring. -
We will have both the MX bikes as well as the XC/XCW machine along with Husaberg. We will have a full boat of every machine we offer for the dirt... It is a two day event and open to anyone. It is an open weekend and you can bring your own machine and demo our bikes also...

Had a very close friend have the exact same thing happen. Many of you have heard my Putnam horror story watching him pass in front of us, but it was the exact same thing. He got his head ran over and it tore the helmet clean off of him... I won't go into details as it haunts me when I watch the videos of Sic. I am on the fence why the hell we feel the need to post these vids as he has passed and we should honor him vs watching the train wreck unfold. We know what happened and we can all watch it on YouTube anytime we wish. But, that is my personal opinion as I see Eric every time... In any case, he was gone as soon as his helmet was ripped off... Beuler... Beuler... Anyone?

I'm down with a trip to Jennings or similar. Heading to ride Las Vegas Motor Speedway the weekend before Thanksgiving. Would like to hit a December Jennings and maybe a Feb one...

I was trained under the Shutyomouff system. It probably isn't as good as the Smirth system, but it'll do. Dude, the muscle flexing is fine, but understand this - you have no freakin clue about me nor any of the other guys posting apparently... The fact is that believe it or not, there are people that can handle things you believe they cannot. Again, if you do not tow on the interstate, you apparently don't travel a lot. Or, you don't have much faith in your Smirth trained mind to handle a small rig and yet even smaller trailer... We appreciate your input, your MASSIVE collection of driving skills and your need to live in a safety bubble. But, as mentioned by many folks on here, there are NUMEROUS examples of people with smaller cars towing trailers. Some driving like a grandmother and some driving a little bit outside that barrier... In the end, relax, dad. It'll be all OK.

He certainly is good at spelling...

How much for just the TRS with or without pins? Not needed on the pins part... -
The other issue is that with people that DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TOW (Much like people that do not know how to ride a motorcycle) is when you find issues. The swaying at speed is usually compounded because the uneducated tower applies brakes. That will enhance the sway and cause issues. Again, sounds like you are a worrying kinda guy and that's fine. Just remember one sound thing when I pull up behind you... "Slower traffic keep right". You can condemn me and lecture me later. If you are doing 65 in a 65 and I am doing 66, I'm going faster and you need to be polite and considerate and get over.
-
You're probably the guy that is in my way sitting in the fast lane doing 2 mph faster than the car you are passing and then sit their asses in the passing lane and force me to pass on the right side. Yes, with my dually and big trailer filled with racebikes doing 80-85mph. Without a sway in the trailer and with more than enough stopping force. Remember one thing before you go smashing everyone under a common blanket. One, my reaction time is probably close to twice what you have. Second, I pay attention and can most likely get out of sticky spots quicker than you can. I've also blown a tire at 75-80 on a single axle trailer with no electric brakes being pulled by a small pick up truck. Guess what happened? Didn't overreact and got it slowed and pulled off to the side. The tire mangled the fender and walked up the side of the trailer a bit, but that would have happened at 65 or slower. What you need to do is sit at home in a little bubble and critique everyone's driving from the comfort of your Lazy Boy... "Some people" To the OP... I had a couple of buddies that did the slim line or hidden receivers and had zero issues. The tranny is going to be fine if you start off slower and build your speed. For Father Panic Pants, the idea is to leave enough room to stop if it is sudden and needed. Sounds like you were fine. Panic Stricken guy probably has a heart attack when a semi truck cruises past him with a full load and a 53' trailer at 80 mph through the mountains. I've driven a 73' Show Hauler filled through the Apps and we were running 75-80 the whole time with more than enough safety... You're good. Go have fun. Oh, and honk when you pass Grandpa with hands at 10 and 2 doing 64 mph in the 65 mph zone or running 55 mph because that is what U-Haul has on the fender...
