  1. That sounds a bit low for Q2's. I believe I raced at 30 rear, 33 front. Street tires rarely need to be below 30 psi. 30/30 is a safe track pressure for virtually any street tire. The more the tire is biased toward touring, the closer I'd creap to 33 or 34 psi.
  2. How does that work with cars? The VIN plate is likely on the dash, so is that determines what the vehicle "is?" The frame (like on a bike) makes more sense.
  3. As of there's a way to NOT have fun in any AMG model.
  4. Which is why they should be hunted in much greater numbers. Close the park for a week and allow bow hunting. No noise, and it would free up space for all the "urban" deer to move back into wooded areas. At least in the park I expect them, but my parents have fawns in their back yard on a daily basis, and I have deer eating all the new growth on the silver maple in my front yard.
  5. I will be down one of those days. Probably Monday. No cash to ride, but I'll be pit bitching for my buddy mike and drinking all his beer.
  6. I hate deer. They have just lost all fear of humans, and they're grossly over-populated in Ohio. I have literally almost run into them ON FOOT while jogging in the park. When I walked my dogs last week, a doe and her fawns walked right across the path no more than 20 yards in front of us, and they never ran when we got within 20 feet to pass them. On that particular walk, we encountered 6 deer, and 1 ran. They need to literally thin the herd.
  7. I went through a couple sets last year and a couple sets the year before. Last year included 2 race weekends on Q2's, and I was always at least in the top half if not the top 1/3 of the field. For street/track duty, theyre a great value. Hell, I would consider running a 211 front and a Q2 rear if I could heat the rear on "low." that would save quite a bit over the course of a race season. If I were to do endurance, I'd consider running Q2's anyway. By the time the tire starts to overheat, the rider will be sucking wind and slowing down anyway...
  8. Yeah, I bought that setup for my brother, and it's been great for him. I knew my parents had gotten him a gps unit for Christmas, and I gave him a motorcycle guide of the pacific northwest. I'll have to pull the publisher/series, but it takes 3-4 states and breaks down the rides by starting location, duration, and "sight seeing" versus sport riding. If there isn't one for Ohio, I wish I had a couple of summers free to make one!
  9. better squirrels and bunnies than the skunk my Rottie mutt got hold of a few weeks ago. Dalmations get a bad rap because they're high-energy. Inbreeding has affected their intelligence in a lot of cases, but like any dog, good owners make them good dogs. If you keep a dalmation stimulated, they're just like any other dog. It just takes a frat house full of active guys to keep up with one dalmation... I'm constantly impressed with how smart, fast, and agile my dogs can be when they want to. The beagle hates squirrels and will bark at the base of a tree (or telephone pole) for hours waiting for it to come down. The Rottweiler will chase and tree the squirrel too, but he doesn't bark and jump up trying to kill it, he just sits and waits. The same has happened with birds. Henry will chase them like they're made of bacon, and then bark, jump, pace, etc. when they escape to the roof. Kramer just watches them like, "i know you're up there, and I know you will come down eventually." dogs are awesome. I should probably go walk mine...
  10. Wanna trade that plus a grand for my track bike?
  11. Effing with the mail is a federal offense. The mail carrier shouldn't be dumb enough to risk his job and criminal prosecution over nothing. I think you're more likely to find some kids vandalizing it, and confront their parents about restitution. Good luck.
  12. Crashing is already illegal. Making texting while driving illegal is redundant and unnecessary.
  13. The 696 is a rich man's sv650. I like it, but if I bought a duc, it would be bigger.
  14. Your shop sponsors Eddie Kraft, right? I always laugh when I see his R6 with the Honda East decals.
  15. Not yet. The plan is to still have a bike and hit some td's and eventually races again in the next year or two. My second job is just falling flat, and I don't want the Honda to sit for a year or more for no reason.
  16. Around 200. I weigh in at 200 fully geared up, and Turn One racing backed out the fork preload almost all the way. I'd say any rider between 170 (me) and 215 (the PO) should be able to get a good starting point without swapping any springs.
  17. SOLD - LOCK IT UP Edit 10/1/12 - $2500 firm, or $2000 w/o the damper, warmers, and with a STOCK rear shock full details here http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=93700 The original title is kind of irrelevant now. Looking to sell the Honda straight-up, OR trade for an SV650 street bike plus cash. I will entertain offers for other bikes, but the "plus cash" part is kind of important at the moment. I want something that I COULD take to the track and have fun on during some group rides.
  18. the owner listed on the title is a dealership that went out of business 2 owners ago. I'm leaning toward keeping the trailer and generator now. Who wants to buy a track bike, stands, warmers, and some spares for $3100, or trade me a first gen (street legal) SV650 plus some cash?
  19. I'm okay with having a trial when one party is no longer alive to give his or her version of the events. That's the purpose of a jury: to be the finder of facts. You can't be defending yourself unless you're attacked. The attacker can never (validly) claim self-defense. The question of who was the aggressor should absolutely go to trial. As for Zimmerman's wife, if she continues to lie in the necessary manner, she'll probably get off without much more than a slap on the wrist. Prove I knew something last week, or last year. Now if there are log-in records of her checking the balance from their home computer the day before she said they were broke under-oath, then she's screwed.
  20. Mine guesses the wrong direction until I release the clutch. Sometimes. I wouldn't foresee any problem though.
  21. Hasn't that guy ever seen a demolition derby? You never inflict a hit at the expense of your own radiator!
  22. I'm 6' and 168 as of last Thursday. That's the lightest I've been in years though. I try to jog, but my knees protest after a few successive days. Otherwise I just do pushups and pull ups along with whatever leg-based cardio I can manage. I've also started to eat better and drink less (on weekdays). By cutting out soda and making chicken salads for lunch, it's kept me feeling better and made the cardio more about endurance and less about staying thin.
  23. No one has made a sammich making joke yet? But seriously, based on your availability, that's when people go out to eat. I hate the idea of waiting tables or prepping food, but it can be decent money in the right setting.
  24. Welcome. If you can tolerate us online, you should try us in person the next time there's a group ride or track day meet up. Some seriously nice (if latently homosexual) dudes on this forum. The girls are okay too, but they have a harder time making the gay shenanigans ironic.
