  1. when i opened the browser on my phone, the "post" box was still displaying. I assumed it did not post the first time and hit submit.
  2. Stop characterizing things as if "the lawyers" have an opinion one way or another. If they're working for cub cadet, their job is to prevent cub cadet from being sued. If they're working for the government, their job is to prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Attorneys don't have opinions; they have arguments that support their client's stance, and/or refute the opposition's stance. There will be lawyers on both sides of any issue.

  4. He was speaking in hyperbole. That's actually protected speech. Plus he only expressed a hope that the guy gets shot it wasn't a threat. (sorry. My first amendment exam was Monday)
  5. Sonofabitch. I want these, but my track account is depleted after buying warmers yesterday. My next check hits on 5/25. If you've still got 'em then, we'll talk.
  6. I am assuming he isn't a student and is one of those guys who coasts by parties while holding the bike on the rev limiter for extended periods of time. I'd like to think OSU wouldn't admit anyone with such terrible grammar.
  7. I'm not defending the guy's attitude, but let's not pretend that we all don't break the letter of the law on a daily basis. Rolling stop signs, driving 5 over the limit, etc. The police don't need to be hassling people enforcing laws without a victim. Now if they pull you over to make sure you have an M endorsement, and you act like a douche, then the visor ticket is no surprise.
  8. Your shit-erific grammar and general attitude are starting to shed some light on why the cop decided to hassle you. "where was they at?" "there visor?" How exactly did this stop go down?
  9. That is a pretty shitty ticket to get. A warning seems sufficient, unless the cop wants to be a jerk about it. I suppose no helmet and sun glasses would have been safer?
  10. Great vision in his day, but for the past 20 years or so Shelby had come across to me as a fish out of water. Technology really kind of passed him by. "take off all the unnecessary weight and stick a bigger engine in it" was never a high-tech philosophy, and I liked that about his cars. I just don't consider anything made after 1979 one of HIS cars. I suspect he might feel somewhat the same. IRS, traction control, forced induction, ABS... Modern gadgets Carrol didn't need or want!
  11. that's the best part about the cheapy Phoenix Arms pistols - they aren't picky on ammo, and seem to be more reliable than most of the other competing models for LESS money. You'll want to do the magazine release modification (all over youtube), and there's some critics of the redundant safeties, but otherwise people seem to be shockingly pleased with how good they are for the price.
  12. FWIW, I bought my F2 with more race goodies than that for $1250 and sold it for $1450. And like someone else said, you can find fuel injected bikes for $2200 or so these days. They won't have penske shocks or anything, but frankly the overall improvements of 10 years of technology outweigh virtually any upgrades you can make to an older bike...
  13. before we get ahead of ourselves here, does the OP have all the other necessary gear? over the ankle boots "gauntlet" gloves a full-face DOT approved helmet in excellent condition And I'd suggest getting in the right frame of mind/attitude... Avoiding or skipping classroom sessions isn't the approach to take. The track is a VERY humbling experience your first time out. After 4 years of track riding, I'm finally almost as good as I thought I would be that first day!
  14. Phoenix Arms HP22A and they're only like $100 new... I will probably pick one up eventually. the 1911 .22lr is cool though.
  15. Fair point. It's a lot closer to 20 for Wrobel than it is for most of us, but in a perfect world you'd get 17 complete laps in. That's taking into account a clutch start on lap 1, and then averaging 1:08's No easy task.
  16. the biggest thing in sprints is the start. If you're not out front right away, you just don't have enough laps to catch the people who you lost touch with on the first lap. in the mini-20, you can afford (a little) to be buried in the pack, and take the first 10 laps catching up to people, then then next 10 battling them for position.

  18. I know several of you guys are still focused on this coming weekend at BeaveRun (or whatever the hell the official name is now), but I'm stuck at home doing yard work and finishing up my bike. Who is in for the (belated) first round of racing?? If you post up your name, bike description, and race or trackday class, I'll do my best to maintain the post below with everyone's info.
  19. I have not. But I think calabigie might be closer anyway.
  20. Actually, it was more, but only because I had a 2 layer tear off.
  21. Yikes. I would just get 3 or 4 estimates an go with the contractor you like best. I had entertained thoughts of having a few friends help me do my own roof (we all have varying levels of roofing experience) but at the end of the day, I was only going to save like $1000 and they were insured, give a year warranty, etc . Cost me $4500 I think.
  22. Nelson is cheapest (and closest for me), but bang for the buck is BeaveRun and Putnam. Gingerman is okay, and I haven't ridden Grattan (need to!). Mid-Ohio is the best, but priced accordingly. If you don't mind travel, the options are limitless. Calebogie up in Canada is the most amazing tracK i have ever ridden. New Jersey is fun, but the tolls are killer.
  23. That is a good answer. That does always seem to be the first thing people ask.
