  1. I found the same $29 site, but you'd end up with my name and address. You can get that out of a phone book. Or if you asked, I'd probably tell you...

coyote - suppose someone did 'steal' my pic above. what would this fraudulent ad look like? Unless they also stole my bike, I'm not sure how it would matter.

  2. You must love the cock' date=' since you carry special plates.[/quote']

??? I don't own vanity plates for any of my vehicles. That's my bike tag. I'll post a picture, if i can find one...

    here ya go

(apologies for the reflective tape - my decal guy sent me roll-ends to do the striping for free, and that was the only white he had.)

  3. It's a big no-no to do a lot of things too, doesn't stop people.

"It's only illegal if you get caught."

I agree with the first half of your statement, but it's just as illegal if you don't get caught; there just aren't any consequences.

if anyone cares to 'play,' my signature tells you my name is Chris, and my info section shows that I live in Parma. I believe that's all the personal info I have listed on this site. Mods might be able to see more, based on parts of my profile that I don't display publicly.

so tell me something about myself that I wouldn't want others to know...

  4. is there a compelling reason I'm not aware of to skew your license plate in pictures posted online?

If you're doing something illegal (like parked on the sidewalk in front of the rock hall), I get it, but I notice that some people black (or white) out their plate using MS paint when they post pics in 'for sale' threads and such.

If i can gather the information by following you, or seeing your bike in a parking lot, I fail to see how having it posted on the internet is any more 'dangerous.'

    am I missing something?

  5. slept in, then drove out to my grandma's for dinner number one (at around 1:30). packed up by 3, and made it to my in-laws for dinner number two at 5:00.

in hte process, I reminded myself how terrible I am at corn hole, and how much I improve by my third beer.

home by 8, and read for school until after 10.

  6. I started out on Ninja 500 last year, got bored quickly, then moved up to a Ninja ZX-6R. I plan on getting a 1000cc bike once I get back from Afghan next year. I do feel the 500 was a great beginner bike to start out on, and if you are a person that likes to push your limits a little, then I'm sure you'll want to move up soon as well, (especially when you see other peoples bikes). Whatever you choose to get, just make sure you respect what it can do.

all this proves is that you get used to ANY amount of power eventually.

with that in mind, I've consciously avoided buying bigger and bigger bikes.

driving an econobox car makes my EX500 feel pretty darn fast. Riding my EX500 makes my 600RR feel pretty insane. I wouldn't want it any other way.

Unless the OP is extremely short, there's nothing wrong with getting a 500 as your first bike. The GS 500 is actually almost dead nuts between the EX250 and EX500 when it comes to horsepower. Better looking too. I prefer the naked GS, but if people like GSXR's the faired GS 500 looks similar.

  7. Can be found occasionally at Midohio, Nelson, Beaverun, Briarcliff MX and probably Bluegrass if that ever happens.

All bikes are #67, the CBR is bright orange, somewhat faded but still hard to miss. Feel free to stop by and say hi, I'm usually by myself.

Sounds like I'll run into you :)

I'm also on an orange CBR. Welcome to the site.

  8. it IS your responsibilty as a rider to do everything YOU can to try and stay alive!

It fuckin bothers the hell out of me to see people wear all black' date=' modify their headlights and turn signals and shit then fucking blame the cars when they get hit.

Its not a goddamn fashion show out there, wear brighter gear, ride with brights on and expect the unexpected folks!

    [/quote']

    imaginary rep for you, sir.

  9. Yesterday in my car I passed so many on the streets, squinting their faces cuz of the wind and trying not to lose their glasses.

I saw this on my way to work this morning as well. I pulled up next to the guy to let him know his tail/brake light weren't working. He was appreciative.

but my question to anyone who rides w/o a helmet is, "how do you check your blind spot without your sunglasses blowing off your face?"

I trust my mirrors about as much as I trust social security to pay for my retirement.

  10. I'm not saying that the driver WASN'T at fault, I'm just cautioning people not to get all militant against the cager before they know the facts.

the rider could have plowed into the back of the car without the driver doing anything wrong.

The rider could have been making an illegal pass, and the driver turned (legally) into his path.

There are lots of "could have" scenarios (including the rider wearing a fucking helmet) that might have changed the outcome here.

without more details, it's premature to be placing any blame.

  11. RIP RIDER.......when the hell are going to realize that thee are two wheelers out here,,Cagers just dont pay attention to their surrounding which means we cyclist have two do it for them.

without knowing the circumstances of the accident, it's a bit premature to assume that the driver 'didn't pay attention.'

It's sad regardless of the circumstances.

  12. :D

Seriously though even my wife wished she had gone with a 600 or at least an F4i after having it for a bit. The 650r isn't keeping up with a modern 600 and it surely won't keep up with the 1000 :p.

first of all, since when is an F4i not a 600?

Second, where are you people riding that strong acceleration up to 90 or 100mph isn't enough power?

  13. I love my 250, just want a bigger machine. So for practicality and physical appearance I want the perfect fit (possible??).

    ninja 650R then.

looks a lot like the 250, will feel quite similar, but has ~62hp instead of 28.

it'll still do 130mph and pulls the quarter mile in 11.5 or less.

for comparison, the 600 will do 150mph, and runs the quarter in more like 10.9 (maybe a bit quicker)

the 650 will cost you $3k less than a 600; insurance will be quite a bit cheaper, and given that you're a light rider, you'll probably keep up with heavier (male) riders on 600's right up to 120mph or so.

is 20mph of top speed and half a second or so in the quarter mile worth the extra money to you?

if the answer's yes, then CBR or GSXR is for you.

  14. This girl knows how to ride so if she wants a gawddamn 600 sportbike she is within her gawddamn right to own one.

who said she didn't have the 'right' to own one? I'm sure after spending so many miles on a 250, she'd be fine on a 600; I just think she'd be happier with a 650(ish) twin. I'm basing my opinion on her stated riding style and desired qualities for a new bike. SHE proposed the Duc as an option, and that's what I recommended. The 650 twins are just more alternatives with similar performance.
