  1. PLENTY... Actually worked there 20+ years ago.
  2. Personally, I would have been disappointed if he didn't.

    RIP Joe Soltys

    My sympathies for your loss.
  4. +1 for 5 Guys Burgers and Fries.
  5. There's your problem. Stage 2 jets?? 48 holes? Seriously.
  6. They haven't tested them because the manufacturers won't submit them. My guess is that the chin bar won't pass this: E5. Chin Bar Test The chin bar test applies to full face helmets only. At least one helmet in each certifi cation series shall be tested. The helmet shall be firmly mounted on a rigid base so that the chin bar faces up and the reference plane is at 65 ±5° from horizontal. A mass of 5 ±.2 kg with a fl at striking face of 0.01 m² minimum area shall be dropped in a guided fall so as to strike the central portion of the chin bar with an impact velocity of 3.5 ±0.2 m/sec. The maximum downward defl ection of the chin bar must not exceed 60 mm nor any component fail so as to cause a potential injury to the wearer.
  7. Its not the "resin" that has a shelf life, its the insides. The styrofoam degrades over time due to the oils etc, in your sweat. Has nothing to do with new/old technology. The modular helmets are subjected to the same testing as a full face, and because of the moving chin bar they can't pass it. If they were subjected to the open face test protocol they'd probably pass.
  8. WERA used to have a mini class at select tracks. You may want to check wera.com for some more info.
  9. Read it again. I didn't call you a whining sally, I said that your bitching and complaining makes you SOUND like a whining sally. For all I know, you're a decent (albeit mis-guided) dude.
  10. Sorry you missed me. Some of us have work to do from time to time. Personally, I don't get to sit in front of a computer all day long. Once you reduced your comments to sophomoric name calling, I was pretty much done anyway.
  11. Years ago I had a Benelli Montefeltro. Without a doubt the BEST shotgun I've ever owned. I'm not sure how you'll reconcile it with your socialist tendencies, I'd say go with the Benelli....
  12. Ummmm...Ferrari North America is the North American Importer for the company. They don't manufacture cars in the People's Republic of Amerika.
  13. Maybe I missed something, but I could have sworn you said you could purchase the CD up front for $60.00. If the same number of images is now going to cost you $80.00 how did you win? You're going to spend $20.00 more than your buddy. What I'm saying here is that you knew the policy going in, yet you chose not to "pre-purchase" your CD. After your track day you decided you wanted the photos, but were offended by his pricing (which, once again, you knew about in advance). You blame this cat's "business model" when in reality the business model wasn't the problem. Your decision is what had the potential to cost you a shitload more money.
  14. No, I'm not a photographer. Seems like you've got it figured out though. Why don't you do it? I mean, all it takes is a camera, right? You questioning how someone runs his business (his business model, as you put it) is a long shot, unless you're doing virtually the same thing. My guess is you never have, and most likely never will. Questioning someone's pricing, sure....have at it. However, its not a "right", nor does it come with any guarantees. He decided to sell you some photos at a reduced rate, good for you. So, you could have bought a CD for $60, but instead you're going buy 15 images for $50.00. I don't know how many images you would have gotten on the CD, but it looks to me like you're still paying more per image. I'd hardly call that a win. Sure I would...who wouldn't? There's nothing wrong with trying to get a better price, but to get on a public forum whining about a price/practice/policy that you knew about going in makes you sound like a whining Sally. Haggling doesn't make you a socialist. Having the government set the prices for everything does. See the difference, comrade?
  15. What other photographers do is their business, not his. He has the right to charge what he wants, when he wants to. You have the right to purchase his product or not. I mean, I'd LOVE to go buy a brand spanking new Ferrari for the same price as a Chevy Cobalt, but I'm not going to spend six days emailing Italy about how their "business model" sucks, or how its soooooo unfair that they charge so much more than Chevy for a car. You do sound like a whining fucking sally. You knew his deal, and you still passed on the photos up front. Your problem, not his. Seriously, if I were him I probably would have told you to fuck off in the second email.
  16. So, let me see if I have this right.... You have some money to spend. and.... The photographer has a product that you want to buy. but... Said photographer wants more money for the product than you have to spend. and.... You think it's stupid. Did I get it right?
  17. I'd disagree. It really doesn't take that long to tear down and build a GSX-R motor. Pretty easy and straight forward. Sure it would take longer than installing a dry kit, but not THAT much longer. More expensive? Initially, yes. I've seen plenty of lunched GSX-R motors from people spraying too much too often and not taking the time to build the bottom end of the motor. A 30 or 40 shot every now and then isnt bad, but a 50 or more dry shot is way hard on those motors - clutch baskets especially. Long term use of even a 30-40 is hard on them too. If you're going to spray, do a wet system, and build the bottom end to handle it. By the time you do that, the cost difference compared to a 3mm with a stroker crank isnt that great, and that set up is really bullet proof.
  18. How the fuck do you get "the whole world needs to change to support my delicate sensibilities" bullshit out of what I said? Can you answer the question? How does allowing someone to self moderate what they read change your experience at all?
  19. Why spray? There are plenty of solid builds that could give you 190 to 200 RWHP all day long. 3mm over and a 5mm stroker crank would work just fine, and you dont have to find a place to hide that pesky bottle
  20. Censorship really isn't the proper word to use in this case. What was proposed was the opportunity for people to choose to filter those "words" on an individual basis. If you choose not to filter them, you can still see them. At any rate, your choice to use them or see them is not affected by anyone else's choice in any way. Explain to me how that "censors" your board experience. And for the record, I've used my share of the seven words plenty here. I have no problem with it, and most likely wouldn't use the filter if it were available.
  21. What are you 12? If YOUR experience is not "censored" (and we're just talking about foul language) how does that effect you? The "words" that seem so important to some of you will still be there, if you CHOOSE. Those who CHOOSE not to see them won't. What's the big deal???
  22. Just curious guys.... If it's left up to the individual user whether or not they "see" the vulgarity, how does it affect you? You can still swear, talk shit, whatever you want. Your internet experience isn't hampered in any way shape or form.
