  1. I'm with you on being open minded, and maybe having a little empathy, but I think the way you framed your initial argument is what lead this whole discussion astray.

But you also realize a lot of it IS how you are raised. When you're raised to fear guns since guns = bad guys or police, then you have these situations. People are raised differently and have different cultures. That's why I can't hate on jbot for eating cats and dogs because that's OK for him, I'm not here to judge. I'm just here to follow the laws of the land in the country I'm in, try to change the ones I don't agree with, and reinforce the ones I do - which, it appears that's what this guy was doing.

  2. dyno day thread

Ahh, thx :). I should've figured it either was from there, or a "bike night" thread...

I'll admit I'm not very good at spinning a drum. I bet a lot of you would outride me on a dyno machine, I'm too scared to lean into the corners on one of those.

  3. The overwhelming power of the hayabusa caused rear wheel slip. This is especially troublesome to these owners that want to "mod" up their bikes by cutting the factory welds that keep the steering stem locked in a straight position (to prevent turning), and de-stretching (plus typically de-chroming as well) the swingarm.

  4. Sounds more like a charging issue. :(

    ^--- This.

As others suggested, check your reg/rect first, then the wires coming from the stator. I fried one of the three legs on my old Honda and had to splice a new wire section in. No problems after that.

If those all look fine, do a cursory check of the wiring upstream of the reg/rect, after that, you may be looking at a stator problem. Which, depending on your wrenching skillz may be big bucks to replace the entire assembly, or you can disassemble the stator and troubleshoot/replace just the bad part(s).

  5. The Taurus Judge will shoot .45 colt and .410 shotgun shells.

Any .357 Magnum revolver can shoot .38's (don't try the other way around)

CZ-52 shoots 7.62x25 Tokerev and with only a barrel change will shoot 9mm.

Most .40 S&W can be converted with a barrel change to shoot .357Sig

The Medusa 47 could shoot anything from .380's, .38 special, 9mm to .357magnum without any changes.

You also have the more hunting oriented Thompson pistols that with a barrel change can shoot anything from the new .17 rounds clear up to .30-06

    These. Esp the bolded ones.

The only caveat I'd mention, is the .357sig barrel pressures are slightly higher than .40S&W and sometimes come with a heavier duty return spring. So, I got a .357sig and then an additional .40S&W barrel, as opposed to getting a .40 and then a .357sig barrel - so it would have internal components built to .357sig specs. The magazines are identical for .357sig and .40S&W so you don't need any additional components there, just a barrel.

That whole issue above probably isn't a big deal unless you're putting thousands of rounds through it, but I erred on the side of robustness.
