Hell, per our R/Ts I had 0.055 in the bank to play with, I should've easily won that round. Per my timeslip I was on a 10.39-10.40 pass and hadn't run that quick all night. I do remember having an almost perfect launch (carried the wheel just off the ground for about 25ft before it came back down on its own), so my 60' time was 1.782 compared to my mid 1.80's on my other runs. And the air was cooler, so I gained a little at every other marker down track. I saw the guy in my mirror and left off the throttle just after the 1000' cone, lost 13mph, and still broke out. Bottom line: I drove stupid. My brother and dad both lost 1st round as well. My dad was on his Buell dialed 12.83 and raced a guy on a fully prepped drag bike dialed 8.99, double breakout loss. My brother dialed a 10.36 and raced a stretched R6 running low 11s (I think) and he broke out by by 0.001 running a 10.359. His timeslip showed that if you took it out to the 10,000th of a second, it was actually 10.3596, so he broke out by .0004. Still good times. Ohh, and I'm not a southpaw so the bottom eject/ambidextrous thing isn't a big issue why I'm leaning toward the Browning. I'm just looking for a cheap, reliable HD pump gun, it'll probably rarely see use, but it HAS TO WORK if I ever need it. What I've read is better build quality / fit+finish on the Browning over the late model 870s, but the 870s are the Timex's of the shotgun world with a HUGE aftermarket.

I didn't want to start a new thread, so I'll bump this one. I have the option of an 870 Tactical for $289, or a Browning BPS High Cap (5+1) for $299. I was planning on getting the BPS... offer is only good until Sunday. Thoughts?

That's kinda sorta the story I heard. I was following it pretty close because of my drag racing roots. The story I got was the EPA said there was "protected wetlands" that Dzurilla (former owner) had to fight about. Funny thing was, those protected wetlands were artificial...as in Dzurilla put them there after the major revamp of MMS, so basically the EPA was protecting wetlands that Dzurilla was forced to create in the first place. Norwalk would've stayed on the schedule since they had JUST switched to NHRA. I think the plan for Mansfield was to take a lot of the points races and action from Nat'l Trails. Fun Fact: Dzurilla used to own/sponsor Dave Connelly's (an Elyria native) Pro Stock car. Which was an additional reason Dzurilla wanted to build the track. The rest of the stuff is the same I heard - as far as when the Trucks, ARCA, and Hooters Cup cars pulled out - it was a downward spiral from there. It is a shame since he really made it a nice facility. I had the opportunity to enjoy a couple of the truck races from the grandstands and the suites. They were nice, and the fireworks they had after the truck race (in '07 I think?) still rank as one of the top 3 best fireworks shows I've seen (behind Rock 'n' Blast @ Jacob's Field, and Norwalk Night Under Fire).
