  1. I have a 85hp cruiser so I can't outrun someone as easily as back when I had the 1000RR, so now it's going to have to be my .357 in a tankbag for quick access. Loaded with 125gr hp ammo from Double Tap of course. Sportbikes seem to take all the heat these days and I tend to do no more than 10 over the limit when I'm out, keeping a low profile. There was gravel all over today so if I ever get another sportbike, it will be to hone my skills at the track. I did feel good after riding about 110 miles on my Warrior. It's difficult to say what you would do in a situation when you're behind a computer screen but taking matters into your own hands has its many drawbacks. You are safe, that's what's important...
  2. RIP...What do the Marines say? Respect everyone and trust no one. People like these should be erased...
  3. I don't want to stereo-type but "dumb Polack" comes to mind...
  4. I have been working at the same job for ten years now, doing nothing more than prepping truck caps to be painted, which seems to be challenging for a few people who have been there longer than I have. My life is pretty good though and I make enough bread to go on two or three trips a year plus I have a great bike as well, although it's a bit slower than my previous ride. For some reason I was born without any ambition other than to work hard at whatever job I end up with, which has gotten me this far in life. I've thought of suicide just because of boredom but I'm too selfish for that right now. In some cases it's noble and in most cases it is not. There is a book called "No More Mr. Nice Guy" that you might want to look into. I suggest going out and getting in shape if you want to get rid of some of the depression. Vanity is a great thing and having more testosterone is also fun. There are hobbies that I have that are unique to me that I engage in when I feel shitty. Good luck...
  5. When I was living in Maryland we were living in a pretty nice apartment complex until it started taking in low-income families, most of them black. Things went downhill after that and I have come to realize that black neighborhoods are the least civilized in our country. For some reason many young black males seem to think that having three or four "baby's mama's" is something to be proud of while these kids grow up in poverty, which perpetuates the cycle. I was crazy enough to run with a borderline psychotic black male when I was younger and we were a few seconds away from murdering an older gentleman at his suggestion after an argument that occurred in that man's apartment. Being in "the hood" if you're white will invite trouble, especially if you are minding your own business as I was, and don't ever think that you will have to fight just one. Fortunately, my buddy, the borderline psychotic, had my back despite my willingness to fight. Always have a weapon on you whenever you are forced to enter a situation that may become hostile. The days of bare-knuckle brawls, one-on-one have gone the way of the Dodo. The other night my neighbors' friend, who is black, pulled up to our apartment complex blasting that hip-hop garbage at almost full volume. Why? Should I be impressed that you have a shitty musical preference that is mostly played in homes where baby #4 is being conceived despite having almost no income outside of public assistance? For every black male who is killed by a white male, there are 20 black males killed by fellow blacks. Is there some atavistic tendency to carry on the tribal wars of The Dark Continent? I don't see the race problems going away anytime soon so I merely work hard, keep to myself, ride as much as possible, and drink beer. It's a violent, sometimes chaotic world and I am a part of it, so I must adapt accordingly...
  6. Some of those agents were married so they might have thought that since they pay for sex at home, why not try and get a freebie from a hooker?
  7. The penalties for first time DUI offenders is apparently not enough for people to reconsider drinking and driving. If only I was a dictator...RIP
  8. If I worked normal hours then I would be available but we have been doing almost 10hrs a day lately. It's around 5:45pm by the time I get home and take the bike out. The concept of an 8hr day is pure fantasy at this point although weekends are usually good. Canton native here.
  9. Rt.164 is pretty chopped up once you get into it, around two or three miles off of 212. Rt.9 is clean however. Some loose gravel in a few turns on 164, but the road needs repaved in the worst way. After you pas Rt.9 and continue on 164, it improves a bit. I would like to join this ride but my muscle cruiser cannot perform the corner work as well as the other bikes on this trip.
  10. It's always sad to hear of someone passing who seemed to enjoy life. Do no harm and appreciate your finite life as much as you can. Death doesn't respect age. RIP...
  11. My first ride was on a Honda Shadow 600VLX, which I took through my mom's neighborhood, learning how to do the basics. That was around 8 years ago. I've owned 7 motorcycles in my life so far...
  12. My second bike was a Honda Magna VF750. They can be had rather cheaply and are a blast to ride but the looks are an acquired taste.
  13. A Suzuki Intruder 1400 will take care of you rather well, and in that price range you will find quite a few, although I am in love with my Midnight Warrior. Of all the cruisers mentioned, the Midnight Warrior looks the best and handles almost like a sportbike. It will take care of you in the curves or if you just want to take it easy, you can do that as well. The handling is better than you would think from a heavier bike. Keep it moving though or you will feel the heat from that 1700cc V-Twin, being air cooled and everything. Harley's have their place but not with what you want to spend so of course you'll go metric.
  14. Why are some people faced with a choice of either breaking the law in order to protect yourself or being a good, potentially dead citizen?
  15. What can be done if they show up to protest a funeral? How about a benchrest and an AK-74, loaded with Hornady 60gr VMax ammo?

    Break out Ride

Be careful that you don't get the wrong kind of ride, if you take it upon yourself to join a catholic church, although you might be too old to be an altar-boy. Then again, they might offer remedial classes on how to bend over. I don't think it's worth looking into though...
  17. Only at this point in my life do I think about advancing my education by parting with large sums of money. After I barely graduated HS, I attended a local tech school for about 5 weeks or so before I took it upon myself to see if I could live comfortably on the wages that were available to a slacker such as myself. No other education besides my diploma from HS as well as the literature that I occasionally look at, which has been increasing the older I get. My current job lets me enjoy life and has gotten me the bikes that I wanted over the years. I will never have a family, so that doesn't worry me. My work ethic is good, a key factor in being able to keep a job. I still get nostalgic when I think about the time I worked in a full-service car wash. College isn't for everyone, although I would recommend keeping yourself informed and being able to speak coherently as you travel through life...
  18. Of course drugs have nothing to do with anyone dying young. Who would ever think of that? Crack cocaine is very healthy for you, it's just something that is kept under wraps for now. It's great for your liver and complexion, just like crystal meth. Nothing gives me wood faster than a pic of a female meth addict. Ingesting large amounts of alcohol over a long period of time doesn't really effect your liver either. God just decides it's time to kill you. I wonder if Amy Winehouse died because it was her time?
  19. We really do need to figure out a way to fix our current drug epidemic. I liked her in "The Bodyguard" and then she just became another broken human being. RIP
  20. I was up and walking towards my bike before it stopped moving as well. If I was not wearing my gear, I may not have been able to get up, perhaps never. Not that gear always saves you but it will be a deciding factor in almost all of your crashes, if you have more than one. Hopefully, most people will never have to see if their gear works or not. I thought I wouldn't until I needed it.
  21. I had a wreck on Sunday with full leathers on. Racing pants, jacket, gloves, and a helmet. Well, I went down hard and I got up right away, even as my bike continued to tumble. Injuries? Nada brothers and sisters. I hurt my shoulder at the gym awhile back, which flared up again after I hit the ground at 40mph during the crash. Even that is starting to heal up. Wear your gear. It's always better to sweat than to bleed.
  22. Hell, I may even get a tricycle so maybe I won't have to invest in any gear. My shoulder is starting to hurt alot less than that special day of the spectacular crash and the right side of my back feels like I spent about two hours at the gym yesterday, but all in all, I'm glad I always wear full leathers, which made it through the wreck almost unscathed.
  23. It's too bad that you didn't catch the actual crash to see what really happened. New bike parts are already on the way so perhaps I can get in some more miles before summer ends.
  24. Hailwood must have raped a ton of nuns in his past life to get the kind of karma that he gets when he starts a group ride. My new fairings are on their way as well as a new stay bracket. Next I need new mirrors and that should be it. According to my Jesus-freak alcoholic neighbor, the lord spared my life. I mean, it wasn't really the fact that I wear full leathers every time I ride now, is it? Well, I will never make the same mistake ever again regarding passing vehicles close to a turn with other riders in front of me. Kent, I think my wreck may have yours beat as far as how far my bike flew. I won't even have any scars to show the girls that I slip roofies to either. Ho-hum...
