Man, my shoulder is the only thing that is bothering me but this is an injury that has been with me for awhile. Going down that hard may have aggravated it a bit. Thanks to everyone for all of the help and I'm glad that the ride wasn't a total bust. We even took the scenic route back home through Atwood rather than risk hitting the freeway with no mirrors on the bike. From what I gather, I tried to pass a truck while approaching a 30mph turn and then running out of room, which might have been caused by the logjam of bikes already in the corner. I braked in the turn and started to wobble and lose control. Once I hit the shoulder the bike lowsided and I had another ride, on my ass for a bit. Quite a tumble and also my first wreck on any bike. All in all, it could have been alot worse for both me and my trusty liter. Most of the damage is on the front end with light cosmetic damage pretty much everywhere else. The stay bracket is totalled as well. For some reason I cannot upload any pics so perhaps if you guys want to see what the bike looks like, I may be able to put them on Facebook. The ironic part is that Hailwood's bike was the one that was almost towed. Now it's time to look for some fairings. You play and you pay...

I am going to Rat-Hell when I die since I used to breed them for the sole purpose of feeding them to my monitor lizard. Rats are very smart and make better pets than other small mammals, especially guinea pigs. I hate those twitchy fuckers. Sorry to hear about this all the same.

Quite a long ride you have there but 536 must be taken very carefully. Especially if your heading towards Rt.7. Coming from 7 it's a little less nerve-wracking though.

Of course the site had to be down when I got home yesterday but I headed back home after filling up on Rt.60, which I should have taken back up instead of backtracking on 83. Kent was complaining about his collarbone so at least that's ok. A case of losing focus for a second and then paying for it, more or less. I'm up for another run sometime in the future.

I thought about taking my bike and moving to CA just so I can live in one of the best states to ride in, since I have family there. It's too bad that I would be pretty much a poor, broke biker due to the high cost of living.

If your going to speed, learn how to do it right. I'm not going to get on my soapbox like some of these other folks who I'm sure never speed or hit triple digits. Yeah, and a bear never shits in the woods either. Just know the areas where the cops are scarce and then open it up a little once in awhile. I am not concerned with hauling ass on a freeway but rather being faster in the curves so I never do more than 15 over the limit on the highways. Go ahead and pass me doing 120 in a straight line, which even Forrest Gump can learn how to do. My respect goes out to all of the riders who take their bikes where they belong, in the twisties. Get a lawyer for this one and be prepared for some unpleasantness...

From what I heard, CA has some great roads, especially in the northern part of the state. Outrageous fines for traffic violations, which is why it might not be listed here.

Rent them by the hour if you're horny. Spend your life with them if you're crazy...
