Selling my 2000 328i because it is just sitting in my garage. I bought it as a weekend car but dont really need it anymore. It currently has 95,xxx, i cant give an exact number because it is still used. The car is very clean and complete. It has power everything. I have just added an ipod integration kit to the car which lets you plug in an ipod and it will show you the text on the radio. It just had an oil change on Jan 20 and will not need one for another year. Its a good car i just dont need it anymore, call/text me at (760)221-3755 or email me, for more info or pictures

  2. as a ford fanatic:

the years 2004-2008 ford 5.4L sucks. My truck sounds like a diesel. The cam phasers go out. maybe its far few and in between but ive done alot of reading and 90% of those owning a ford truck from years 04-08 have had to replace the cam phasers. Im running a custom tune on mine too, and it has helped out, but still sounds like a diesel. and i am a maintenance nut.

so stay away from 08 and go above that.

I had mine replaced under warranty. It doesn't sound as bad as it did before, but can still slightly hear it. Honestly, I think the sound now is more injector noise because these engines are so quiet.

But yeah, I'd definitely get something 09+ if I was in the market now.

  3. I soaked up as much oil out of that one hole as I could with paper towels. Pulled the plugs (they are already NGK's) and valve cover, replaced the grommets and gasket and put it all back together. The car started right up. WooHoo!!!

Thanks again everyone for the help.

  4. FWIW a Friend of my family has a stainless roll up tonneau, It looks good, it's lockable, easily retractable and it can support over 500lbs on top of it when its out. I can try to find out where he got it from, IIRC he paid around 700 for it.

EDIT: It was something like this one. http://www.pace-edwards.com/Full-Metal-JackRabbit

I really really wanted one of these until I found out that you lose almost 10" of bed depth.

  5. I believe this has been discussed here before not too long ago. IIRC, a wind system is extremely expensive to install and will take a very long time to recover the costs. I'm not totally sure about solar, but they still aren't cheap to have installed.
  6. What can they do to the 5.4l with a tune??

    -Marc

He unleashed 30 hp and 30 ft lbs on my truck and adjusted the shift points. It made a HUGE difference. I have bigger than stock tires and wasn't really able to spin them from a stop; now I can with ease. The downshifts are amazing. When I need the power, it's there instantly, whereas before it would take a few seconds to downshift.

  7. I have a lite-rider roll-up on my truck and like it. Some water does get in the bed when it rains, but not a lot. IIRC, the material it's made of is pretty strong; ie., a knife can puncture it, but you can't drag the knife to slice it open. A person would have to keep stabbing it in order to get a big enough hole to get something out of the bed. You can't open the cover unless the tailgate is down.

Keep this in mind, covers will only keep honest people honest. If someone wants to get in, they will, no matter what kind of cover you have.

  8. So, what's the best/proper way to go about this? Soak up the oil from the hole as best as I can before removing the spark plug? Do I even need to remove the spark plugs in order to remove the valve cover?

I know I can do this, it would just help if I had proper direction on fixing this, so that I don't make matters worse. TIA!

  9. I drove the car yesterday without issue. Went out this morning to go to work and it won't start. It turns over just fine. I pop the hood and see one of the spark plug boots not completely seated on the plug. I push it down and it pops back off. I pull it off and discover that hole is full of oil :fuuuu:. The other 3 holes are dry. So, where do I begin? What caused this? What will it take to fix it?

Edit: This is a D15B2 motor.
