  1. They're regular thread, just tight as hell. I'm sure a little bit of heat won't do any harm.

    Missing Plane

They know the passports were stolen because they were reported stolen 1 and 2 years ago. My guess is that they were able to make it through with them because they were in Malaysia (perhaps not the tightest and most up to date security) and the passports were foreign to them (Italian and German I believe)
  5. People have been using dialup internet for years...why the fuck get broadband.
  6. I drove a 99 Mustang V6 with all seasons through a winter about 10 years ago. It was a nightmare. I couldn't make it up Powell Rd one day, so I had to back down the hill while everyone was trying to go up. It was awful, and so was the car.
  7. I couldn't imagine having a pool in Ohio. Pain in the ass to drain and fill it every year. But I grew up with pools, where you didn't have to worry about any of that and it was pretty easy and cheap to maintain. Check the ph of the pool about every month or so, add some chlorine, let the Baracuda clean the bottom of the pool and filter the water, and have one of those water surface cleaners do it's thing and it pretty much takes care of itself. http://www.poolsupplyworld.com/Baracuda-G3-Residential-Advanced-Suction-Side-Automatic-Pool-Cleaner/W03000.htm http://www.shopthepoolandspacenter.com/pool-devil-pro-automatic-pool-surface-cleaner-skimmer-pd00010/?ref=lexity&_vs=google&_vm=productsearch&adtype=pla&gclid=COzauOqJiL0CFWEV7AodwisAmw
  8. Cool stuff. I think this winter has everyone very unmotivated.
  9. Holy shit I know who that is. He just got that a few weeks ago.
  10. Did you try sending a video with Hangouts? I've never had a Touchwiz phone and don't really ever plan on ever getting one. If it wasn't for pure Android, I'd probably have an iPhone too.
  11. He doesn't have a Droid, he has a Note. But the Hangouts app (the default SMS app for Android from Google), lets you send them and let's you view videos (even linked from youtube) and gifs right in the app. Hangouts is available for iOS too, and it's a nice replacement for the stock SMS app. Let's you do wifi calling and group video chats.
  12. I don't have any problems sending videos, but sending videos through SMS is pretty pointless cause the quality is awful. I'm assuming you're using the stock samsung sms app, which from what I've seen it's pretty much shit. Download Hangouts, click the camera button on the bottom right, select Take Video and send.
  13. Cool Reminds me of this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/d/dc/JR_Central_Shinkansen_700.jpg/800px-JR_Central_Shinkansen_700.jpg They should've gone with the MAN http://global.fncstatic.com/static/managed/img/Leisure/2009/mantruck660.jpg
  14. I am not sure we should be making light of the situation — we are talking about a potential World War III here.
  15. So here, as a beginner’s guide, are ten handy phrases for bluffing your way through a conversation about the situation in Ukraine: ‘It’s simplistic to think in terms of east versus west in today’s global, multi-polar world.’ A classic this: the phrase can be adapted and used in just about any serious conversation about anything. Say it early in the discussion, before anyone else can. ‘Sevastopol is of great strategic importance for Putin, especially given the ongoing situation in Syria.’ A useful ploy, this remark establishes you as a bigger-picture guy, who grasps the geopolitics of both eastern Europe and the Middle East — and that global, multi-polar world you were just talking about. ‘What we are seeing here is the return of geography.’Similar to the last, this one neatly lifts you away from the intricacies of Eastern European diplomacy and has the advantage of being almost completely meaningless. ‘The similarities with Hitler and the Sudetenland/Anschluss/Peter the Great/ Stalin and the Tartars/Genghis Khan are striking.’ Historical analogies are invaluable to the experienced bluffer, but the amateur must tread carefully. It is terribly easy to become unstuck in the past. When in doubt, hedge: ‘I am not saying that Putin is Hitler, but …’ or ‘it’s easy to get carried away with these comparisons, but …’ Try to look pained, as if contemplating both the complexity and the imminent possibility of human suffering. ‘Ukraine literally means “borderland”, of course’ — easy one to remember, but a sentence that hints at real wisdom. It has the added benefit of not requiring any follow-up knowledge. Use in the context of ‘statelets’, ‘the great game’ and ‘annexation’. ‘Yes, but Putin is in danger of over-playing his hand.’ Especially effective as a foil: if the clever bloke at the other end of the table is discussing an article he’s read in Foreign Affairs, just wait for him to say anything about ‘the limits of western power’ and pounce. Replace the word ‘Putin’ with ‘Nato’ if he is going the other way. ‘One must always be wary about unleashing ethno-nationalist forces.’ This one sets you up to make quite racist generalisations without seeming explicitly racist. ‘The Slavs are at their most dangerous when national borders are in flux,’ you can add, having already dropped your ethnic sensitivity card. ‘The Orthodox have a different way of looking at these things.’ Religion never fails when you need to generalise; refer noddingly to the ‘Moscow Patriarchate’ as if you expected all your companions to know the various traditions within Eastern Christianity. ‘It all comes down to the energy markets.’ No one will dare contradict you here. Link the crisis to the ‘shale gas revolution’. Refer obliquely to deals between the oligarchs, the Kremlin and Gazprom, and throw in the words ‘Glasnost’ and ‘Perestroika’, ideally in an ironically proficient Russian accent, for good measure. ‘I am not sure we should be making light of the situation — we are talking about a potential World War III here.’ The Puritan’s gambit; this establishes you as a serious dude who cares and silences those who might have been enjoying themselves too much. I got into the beta about a year ago just to check it out. Not my cup of tea.
  19. Everything tells me that I should love this car, but I don't. My dislike of the Lexus brand is just too strong. And at $400K, it sure stays true to the Lexus tradition of being overpriced.
