Sig= Expensive, but worth it Glock 17- Great gun, very reliable, simple, can hold 17+1 9mm, everywhere ($500) Springfield XD- Very nice gun, not too expensive (I actually just picked up a Sub compact .40 for $419 at Buckeye Outdoors) If you are looking for something for home I would seriously check out Kimber 1911's (.45) Vances has a nice black one for $650.

It all depends on how long I plan on keeping the bike. On my first (02 R6) I changed it once in 12,000 miles because it was my first bike and knew I would sell it after a year or 2. For the new R1 (plan on keeping it for a long time) it gets changed approx every 3k miles. More often than that it is a waste of money and riding time!!

Its not all all unbelievable... When you get done with a 9 month deployment you have around 16K (depending on rank) and No bills (most marines are single) and a you have a need for high adrenalin activities. Bike shops close to bases make a killing off rookie riders who throw down cash for a new 1000cc rocket.

Usually I blast it with the pressure washer and dry with a leaf blower. Once its dry I attack it with plexus for the plastics and honda cleaner and polish on the metal parts. I hate cleaning rims.

What do you guys use to clean your plastics??? I've used Plexus for a while now- but 13 bucks a can (at the pony) is getting retarded. I tried some of the cheaper stuff and its obvious why its cheaper. Has anyone found something cheap that works well?
