Cliffs of Moher. Couldn't believe or understand what the attraction to this was. Had to pay to walk to the top of it to look down or take a tour boat into the ocean to see it closer. It's a cliff, 600' tall - I get that. But it wasn't that cool. Weird. Cool old monastery out on an island. Was from the year 400 or so... Cliffs of Moher. The roads are very poorly marked here and navigation is a bitch. Just trying to figure out what road you're on takes a lot of time. Signposts look like this and are hard to read when you pass them at 50 mph. No signs are marked with directions like "east, west, north or south", they are just marked with the next town name down that road. If you don't know the town names, then you're fucked. I made route sheets each morning listing the towns I wanted to pass through, not the highway numbers or direction. Worked out better this way....

We stopped in pubs for hot tea for the wife constantly. This place was kinda cool, very small and comfy. I liked the grindstones that they had mounted in the wall. Could see into the next room through the axle hole... Three bar stools - no waiting...

Some of the coastal roads were good. Hard to see in the pics, but the surface of the roads generally sucked. A sportbike would have a tough time on these as it would ground out constantly. The BMW GS was clearly the bike for the job and we saw shitloads of them on the roads along with some naked bikes. Very few sportbikes. Lots of thatched roofs along the coast as well, even on newer homes...

I'm in the process of reloading all of them now - should be able to start seeing the pics now.

I can do one on the Ireland / Scotland trip from earlier this month. I started a thread on it, but messed up the pics - need to go back and fix that when I get them time.

The COG is June 8-11th; so it'd be all over with by the time we got there. Only stuff I can find scheduled for this weekend is the Suzuki GS meet at the Two Wheel Campground (won't be too many of them) and a DOdge Charger group in Gatlinburg - might see a couple of them out and about. So not much else happening that weekend - so it would be a good time to go. Last trip down with you guys, we missed out on quite a few of the really good roads. Would be fun to go back and hit them up this time.

If you want to ride a bit that weekend, gimme a yell. I'll show ya a great ride to do. I'll probably be riding in the country on Friday or Saturday - any and all are welcome to come along.

You should cruise down with us and surprise him.

Cool. Not looking to take 45 peeps down and make a big event out of it - just a small group for a quick weekend down south. I'll drag one of Duc's down and leave the ST at home this time.

I think I'm goign to head south for weekend and ride a bit on Tennessee and North Carolina. Probably going to trailer down from Indy. Anyone else wanna go? If so, I'll get hotels lined up this week. Let me know. Eric

Bullshit - the more experience you have, especially riding aggresively on technical roads, the easier it gets.

Heading out today to explore our way around teh coastal roads. Found some more old churches and graveyards. They had the cornerstone of the church behind bars along with the date it was laid - 1250 AD.. Mortar is for pussies...

Got drunk as shit and passed out that night. So no more pics until the next day. It's rough waking up to this each day...

Bored with the outdoor life, I head into the bar to check emails for work. Stumbled upon a beer while I was in there. Heaven, I tell ya, pure heaven....
