  1. It was a Malibu with 502 c.i. motor. This one wasn't a full restoration, had aftermarket parts, numbers didn't match, etc. Here's some pics of the engine bay... Underside of it... I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the car from the outside. Looks like all 70's Malibu's do. It's a real nice blue color. I think it was priced at around $50,000. But the bro inlaw said he touight he could get it for less. He and a mechanic are coming back to look it over in the shop with a mechanic from the dealer. That'll decide the price I guess.
  2. In the suburb of Indy that I live in: Greenwood. See: http://www.rayskillmanclassiccars.com/
  3. Shop area was ultra clean and pretty nice. Anopther 'Vette getting ready to sell... Security...
  4. Fuckin' Dodge - who picked these colors???? Big Daddy was here... 500+ bhp and six carbs...
  5. My mother had this same car when I was a little kid, 1970 Chevy Nova...
  6. My friend in high scool had this same car, same color, same interior, etc. Pontiac GTO...
  7. My favorite ride; Cobra A/C...
  8. Have an extra $500,000 burnin' a hole in your pocket? You can treat yourself to this if you do...
  9. Old 'Vette. I was diggin' the headlight covers...
  10. My bro in law was over from Ohio for Thanksgiving to look at a car he wants to buy. I'll be the first to say that I don't know shit about cars, much less about old cars. But I do remember most of these as I was a youth when these tanks roamed the Earth. I even had a couple of them in high school. Anyway, here's some pics from the shop we went to....
  11. I read that it was aimed at newer / women riders with a low seat height, automatic, etc. But the cost is supposedly around $13,000. How many newbie riders are gonna blow that kinda cash on this? Honda has done this before with a bike that failed to sell, (Pacific Coast) Looks kinda cool though.
  12. Drunk, hot, sweaty and more drunk. I think I had a good time! I was gonna post some pics of it but never did. Too lazy.
  13. Not local, but www.onlinemetals.com is where I get most of my plate from. Cheaper than most and no charge for cutting to the size you want. T6 refers to temper - not aluminum grade, so there's really no such thing as "T6 aluminum". Get Type 6061 in a T6 temper - machines decently, cheap, strong and doesn't corrode as much as some others. If you need superior strength, try type 7075. 24" X 24" in 6061 will run ya $130, type 7075 is $200 Both are readily available although the 7075 will cost a tad more.
  14. That was on the way back, I think. I zonked out pretty quickly from sheer boredom <gg>.
  15. The Sable is on it's last legs with transmission problems. Whines like a little bitch everytime he gasses it. Definitely didn't like pulling my trailer (Rub had to deliver a bike to a guy there). Still had fun though. Place is going to be ultra-cool.
  16. I rode around it on Wednesday in the owner's Porsche Cayenne. Went there with a friend to help them decide where to put the gravel traps for bike racing. This place is going to be fantastic. A wide track with some decent elevation changes and quite a few blind crests that are gonna make yer bunghole pucker when you ride them for the first time. Took shitloads of pictures, but the owner doesn't want them posted to forums until the track is complete. I'll post them one day - or show them to you guys in person sometime.
  17. That's it exactly - very cool to see. I'd like to get some pictures of it, but they come out like shit every time I attempt it. Need to get a good tripod for some shots.
  18. My welds suck - but my bud does great welding and he'd do it for you. Plus, my welder is in an unheated room - no mas welding there until Spring! Let me know when you guys wanna come over, the wife can probably get ya a free hotel room for a night.
  19. That did kinda suck, didn't it? We most likely won't do much night riding on this trip - with the exception of a blast through the desert at night to look at stars. Sounds gay, but it's one of the coolest things to do. Stars go from horizon to horizon and are beyond bright out in the dez. Really cool.
  20. The rain was a total fluke- how were they supposed to know a hurricane was gonna blow through town? Moving it up a few weeks won't make much difference weather-wise. Lizard is right - Indy blew Laguna away as far as attendance goes. Laguna has about 40,000 on race day and Indy did 97,000 or so. And that was with crap weather. SHould be up at least another 25,000 or so for next year if the weather is good. Indy does these events the right way - loads of things scheduled to do, etc. They have more experience than just about anywhere with large crowds for racing. Laguna sucks dog balls for traffic - took me 4 hours to just get oit of my parking spot at the '06 MotoGP there. They had like 6 portolets for the entire track, very few food vendors and dirt to sit in. Swore I'd never go back.
  21. Just save a couple of bucks each week and it'll be paid for in no time at all. Preparation just involves usual maintenance and some new tires before you leave - simple! I'll be scurrying around the night before we leave to get tires put on, oil changed, brake job, etc. I'd like to think I'll take care of it beforehand, but experience tells me I won't. Lazy fucker.
  22. The entire family will be at my house for Turkey Day - so that would be just me and the wife at home...nice and quiet the way I like it. Have a good one everyone!
