If I was a racist......I would've hated Muslims all my life just because of the color of their skin. That's not the case......I started distrusting them 7 years ago because of the actions of some of their membership. Prior to that....I never gave muslim religion much thought. I live by a modified "Golden Rule".......I treat others the way they treat me. Unfortunately, I'm not a good enough person thus far to live by the "official" Golden Rule.....Treat others as you want to be treated. I try, but admittedly fall short on that one sometimes Duane......Your follow up post must've happened while I was typing my last response, so I didn't see it before I put mine up. Appreciate the compliment & clearing up what you wrote Jeremi......I see that since I mentioned being Catholic, you went right for the molester analogy. Forget the Muslims.....You know how much crap/jokes I've had to put up with the last few years since that news broke out?? You're right....Not all Catholics are that way....but we've ALL had to bear the shame & brunt of public reaction because of the actions of a few, and in essence, pay the penalty. What/Who's that remind you of? Yet nobody feels sorry for the persecution & mockery of us poor Catholics as a whole, because of what a few of our priests did Also......I was an altar boy when I was younger, & very proud of it. Steered my son's away from it, but now my daughter has signed up for it. Am I a racist because I am distrustful of all priests now due to the actions of a few.....Even though we've personally had dinner with several & think very highly of them??? And to those who've contacted me thinking I'm vacating the board.....Not the case. I am however done with this thread as I don't think anything else positive will come of it at this point Hopefully I don't think of something I forgot to add, or find a typo or grammatical error as soon as I hit "Enter"!

I was trying to avoid calling it that, but I agree and that was one of my first thoughts. And on that note......I'm out You know.....I tried to end this amicably before it got to this point, but some expressed opinions of wanting to further the conversation as they thought it was educational/good debate/history lesson, & was remaining civil 'til this point. We've now crossed that line.....Or at least you have towards me. I don't care what color, nationality, or religion you are.......If you show agression/hatred toward me & mine in the US.....I don't like you, where you come from, what you stand for/represent/believe in, etc. That goes for a certain group of white, blonde hair/blue eyed protestant Americans who probably don't like me 'cause I'm darker skinned/haired & Catholic.....or if you're from another country trying to turn the US into a carbon copy of your homeland The only reason I continued it today was that several people quoted me, asking for a response.

Good point Kruel.....But in response I'd say they're the one's who chose to come over here & live. If they don't feel comfortable/safe/welcome....They're always free to leave. Since they don't.....I've gotta assume they must like it here overall & feel it's better than their home country SamBusa used to hang on my XX board with me, & even went on some rides with the group, stayed in their homes, etc. Him & one of the other guys got into it recently......Sam told everybody off & trashed/badmouthed our bike out of anger, and some of them came down pretty hard on him. He was accepted on our board, even though they don't particularly care for 'Busa's, because he was with me & he'd always been cool & tried to blend in. Now that there was a skirmish & he doesn't like it over there anymore, he refuses to go back. When I hang on his 'Busa board, I always act as if I'm a guest in someone else's home. Same thing......They've always been cordial to me...a few Honda comments here & there as to be expected, but overall, hospitable. However, I'm always cognizant of the fact I'm in their territory, and all that can change in the blink of an eye. I don't go onto their board expecting them to change it into a Honda board or accommodate me or my Honda beliefs in any special way, & I'm also fully aware that some of them probably don't like me just because I have a Honda, and are only tolerating me because I'm friends with Sam. The minute I don't feel comfortable over there....I'm leaving....Not expecting them to change their place on my behalf I'll admit.......That would be scary as well. I still think we've learned from our past though, and treat them FAR better than we did our Japanese immigrants 70 years ago during WWII

Very true Duane.......But if some KKK members went over to the Middle East & bombed & killed thousands of Muslims.....Do you think they would specifically come after the KKK, or would their retaliation & hate be against all Christians in general? Again......Agree to disagree

I'm glad you brought the Japanese up. For all those who claim how badly we're treating our muslim population since the attacks.....I vaguely recall "camps" that were set up for all Japanese Americans to be herded into during WWII, because while at war, we didn't know which ones we could trust, and which had malicious intentions toward our country. Sound familiar?? I don't recall hearing anything like this being set up since 9/11 for our Muslim population. I'd say they're being treated MUCH better than previous immigrants have been I live within 45 minutes of the biggest mosque in NW Ohio, possibly the whole state, and aside from some petty vandalism & mild threats/jabbering.....They've been pretty much left alone. They've certainly not been bombed or attacked as part of a vigilante effort. I think we Americans have been VERY tolerant towards them & respecting their religious beliefs Fixed that quote for you Jeremi I think it's pretty obvious I'm not changing anybody's mind, and you're not changing mine......So I say at this point, unless someone posted something while I was typing this that I have a strong reaction to ....... we just respectfully agree to disagree on this subject:cheers:

I must've missed it in your examples above Duane....Where exactly did it say these so called "bombings" were done by Christians??? "A package left", "An unidentified person", "2 unidentified persons"??? Based on your comment above about all religions being "fairy tales" and now this one.....I'm gonna assume you're atheist, or just non-religious Duane. A person's religion is a HUGE part of who they are/what makes them up....Muslims included

And I'm reading WAY too much youth, naivete', & idealism in yours to take you seriously I'll admit to not paying much attention to the news on a general basis......So when was the lastest abortion clinic bombing??? I thought that was passe' .....Late 80's early 90's protocol Not to mention.....If we total up ALL the clinic bombings over the last couple decades, do they even compare to how many were killed in one morning?

Good post Kruel, and while I understand the points you're making.....I still feel they fall under the "old rules" of race/discrimination. This is a new enemy we're facing, and they're very deceptive in their hate for us & think it an "honor" to kill us....or die trying. I think we all probably remember where we were 7 years ago....except maybe for the really young on here. Your memory/concern is of how your friends were being treated. I vividly remember being scared to death of what the hell was going on already that day, how the rest of the day would unfold/how big this attack really was(If you recall.....Speculation was that the Sears Tower in good 'ol Midwest Chicago was next), getting to school to pick up my kids so that our family was together....no matter what happened, and how I was going to protect my wife & 3 young children who were looking to me for protection & answers as to what was going on, why, and how bad was it going to get as the day progressed & night came. For much of the afternoon & into the evening, I had this sense of dread...."Is it really over....or is there more coming tonight?!?" As bad as it was....Think about how lucky we actually got. 2 quick hits with a couple stolen jets, & one that was foiled, managed to bring down our world markets & biggest US city for the better part of a week. That's very scary to me, and a sign of how fragile/tenuous our society really is! Had their attack been a bit larger in scale.....It could have gotten very, VERY ugly here

I guess they're too busy showing World Series of Poker As far as Favre....LOVE the guy, but truly felt bad for Aaron Rodger this last few weeks. While I know ALL muslims don't hate me & aren't gonna kill me......The problem is we have no idea until it's too late, which ones are implants here, as part of sleeper cells, just waiting for their cell phones to go ringy ringy......And then all the sudden the guy you thought was OK is now screaming at you in Arabic about being an "American Pig" Maybe they sent you guys the official State List of which guys are which, but I just distrust all of them at this point. Jeremi......Since we've gotten kinda friendly, I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt in that you didn't mean that to be as belligerently insulting to me as it comes off I've stated before that a good debate is how you learn the other person's side......But when the name calling starts....That's when it gets personal & out of hand. And if anyone's a tool....It's those Tyson employees who apparently got played &/or manipulated to give up one of their established National Holidays to appease the Muslim immigrants I don't like Muslims because they don't like me.....Period. In fact....the radical part of their religion HATES me....as attested to by the Trade Center Bombings & Osama's multitude of hate tapes he's sent us since then, promising to kill more of us! I also don't like people coming to America to live......And then trying to make us change to accommodate them. You chose to move here....DEAL w/ it & assimilate or GO BACK HOME! It's not like we recruited/begged you to come here That's the major difference between this new immigration & the old one 100 years ago. Our ancestors didn't come here expecting to "Press 1 for English" or have bilingual road signs, be treated politically correct, etc. They came here & busted their asses not expecting ANYTHING to be handed to them.......And LEARNED ENGLISH & OUR OTHER CUSTOMS AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE! There's a table/graph I read on another site within the last year about how the percentage of Muslim population historically dictates how agressive they start getting in their demands & attempts to take over local government. I'll have to see if I can track it down again, as that's what I meant by starting upon a slippery slope.......

+1 on this part of it. Have a friend from the XX board who's a cop in Oklahoma, and posted this same pic & story earlier this year. I would add that according to Rick....This cop was also highly skilled in martial arts & hand to hand combat, which is why he did not feel the need to draw his weapon on the knife wielder. He felt capable & sufficiently trained to handle the assailant with out his gun. He has apparently changed his stance on that since said pix were taken
