  1. ew honda haha jk, ok so it looks like its going to be 10am sunday the 15th at the dairymart in creek. as of now its me, nick and fusion, ninjachk and her compadres, who am i missing...? nick--do you think we are going to be back by 12-1 or so? Just so i can let me family know when i will be back for the cookout.
  2. sounds like its going to be sunday right now and meeting at the dairy mart at the intersection of 35 and orchard (by all those dealerships) what time as of now? im thinking 10am--depending on when i get off work the night before.
  3. haha if it was that long ago i have no idea, i've had to go through studying for finals and actually taking finals so my brain is a little fried... i just know chris (playerpro--red honda 1000rr) has been talking a lot about doing the nky trip and i wanna go before he moves to texas.
  4. thats on the corner of 35 and orchard yes? right by hidy, langs, and the cady dealership... o and that huge soccer complex that im always at haha am i thinking the same place you are?
  5. poll is made guys in another thread. also if a mod looks at this, would you mind merging this thread and the other thread with the poll kthnkxbie
  6. alright here is the poll. pick a day 14th or 15th. but remember as ninjachk mentioned the 15th is fathers day. this is also weather permitting obviously. regardless of what day it is, its going to have to be early morning due to heat and so i can still get things done later in the day. also i plan on going in full gear, i want to do an aggressive ride but still want it to be manageable for everyone who wants to go to be able to go...make sense? also i will let ninjanick will be in charge of planning the route. also where is everyone who wants to go located so we can come up with some sort of meeting point thats ok for people. im shooting for sunday early around 9-10
  7. ya it took me a while to realize you were being sarcastic...im a little slow tonight. although whodey is a fine example of squidlyness jk
  8. i believe they are OK (read: still not legal, but not illegal enough to write a ticket) as long as they are not blue and red combined and/or flashing. i had red on mine for a while last year and there were many cops that i pulled next to at stoplights and they didn't say a single thing about it.
  9. i just found out my friend from high school was in an accident so ill be going to his funeral on sunday so no go for me as well this weekend. (great thing to come home to...) NEXT weekend sounds good to me, early morning would be best to beat the heat and so i can still get other stuff done in the day. i want to ride in full leathers as well, i realized this past week as my leathers were at home rather than with me at school that i dont feel comfortable at all riding without them. Jacket, jeans, just dont do it for my anymore. (with helmet, gloves, and boots always of course) ninjachk-sorry! i already had in my mind a sunday ride anyway and my weeks start on sunday, hence the NEXT week ride. my bad so NEXT weekend ok with everyone? June 14-15? pick a day and lets go with it.
  10. sat looks hit or miss with weather. sunday looks good but HOT! if we do a sunday ride i would prefer an early ride rather than later. either an after lunch ride would be best.
  11. ok like this saturday or sunday will work for most people? yea nick something like a 2-3 hour ride. Could go longer...
  12. ok folks im coming home from school for the summer and really want to get to know the dayton people and ride! im not going to set a certain day because i dont know everyone's schedule. just let me know what day's are good for you all. im good most of the week as i will be easing into my work schedule. This would be a dayton area ride only, no nky...that will be later in the summer for sure. nick and anyone else: what are some good roads around the area? the only thing i got is back country road 90 degree switchbacks.
  13. this is something i drew up in my free time as a sort of tribute to my late grandfathers and threw it into photoshop to tweak it some more. one worked on a navy ship (USS Independence) and the other was very involved with some seriously wicked X planes and the F16 development. I wanted to intertwine the two as you can see. I like everything about it so far...except for the "docken" part...i just can't find a font that i like. if anyone has any suggestions or wants to play around with it and post up their alternative that would be great. right now this is just a drawing just to be a drawing...but this could end up being a decal for the bike come summer time
  14. yea so im just sticking with the 180 for now. maybe down the road i would consider a 190 rear and 70 up front...maybe but i would like to try a 70 front definitely on the next set of tires (its a 60 stock and a common mod for the first gen R6 is to move to a 70 with some suspension adjustments to compensate)
  15. ahh LED washer nozzle lights...the epitome of squidly ricer mod... just when you think they cant make their car look any stupider they come up with a thing like that. do they not know that monster thing is slowing their car down even more? I mean i can see it if the car is pullilng 3-400 hp. but these kids find a wing and put it on as their first mod. its like having a huge air brake and they wonder why they are losing drag races...
  16. ::cough:: thats cuz yamaha is better ::cough::
  17. i would but i need to study and write, if it was just book stuff id be in but i need to write 2 papers... if we do a hocking run in the summer time im all in! and when the fawk did you go to canada playerpro?!?
  18. yea they do for a while now i read.
  19. so the 190 thing is only for race app on the more powerful bikes then. if i ever did want to switch in the future though what adjustments would i need to make though?
  20. here you go guys this is from Todd at Cal-Sportbike.com my question in bold and his response: whats the difference between galfer and ebc HH pads? EBC pads have stronger initial bite since their higher copper content means they build heat faster. But according to THEIR OWN marketing ads, their peak friction rating is .6u. Galfer is .7u, or roughly 15% higher peak friction, which means stopping power. However, Galfer uses higher ceramic content in their sintered mix, meaning the pads cool faster thus they put less thermal demand on the rotors, so they're more "rotor friendly" than EBC pads. Also, a difference in feel comes because ceramic builds heat in a more linear fashion, so some people THINK EBC pads are better, but it's a difference in FEEL (only initial bite) not in peak performance. Like having a car geared strong in 1st and 2nd but gets beat in the 1/4 mile, ya know? am i correct in saying that rotors and pads have to be made by the same company? For instance you can't get ebc pads with galfer rotors or vice versa yes? It's a very good idea to use rotors and pads from the same company in many cases, mostly because they only warranty their components to work together. Makes sense, because they would use THEIR pads to test on their rotors, so Galfer, EBC, Ferodo, and others, tend to not want to warranty rotors if you use someone else's pads. And quite right IMO. one more question: can you compare the different series of galfer HH pads. I know we had discussed this as well between the 1396 series and the 1375 series and whatever other HH line they have. The one numbers that matter for you is 1375 versus 1370. 1396 is for offroad applications basically. So the 1370 and 1375 are both bronze-based ceramic compound. However the 1375 also adds a ceramic coated backing plate, which is a heat barrier to lessen thermal bleed through to the caliper pistons and thus the fluid. Any time you lower the temp of your fluid, the more you stay away from the dreaded boiling point which causes total fluid degradation. So this is why the 1375 compound is more expensive, but is much more popular for track riders and serious sport riders who understand the facts about braking performance. Now, to help you understand that I'm not just cheerleading Galfer and ignoring anything else...understand that I don't always run Galfer pads on MY OWN bikes. In fact, my Ducati 888SPO has Ferodo XRAC pads on BrakeTech Axis ductile iron rotors, which is a step UP from the Galfer setup. But the iron rotors can stand up to the higher thermal demand of the XRAC pads. And on my track bike, with a Brembo setup and 19x18 radial master cylinder, I really loved the Galfer 1375HH pads since they complemented the way the radial master applies a lot of force quickly. I actually tried Vesrah pads (sort of between Ferodo and Galfer in friction) and they were too abrupt, so I wanted a more linear feel for predictability in all conditions.
  21. so its not a straight swap then? well alright then i guess i wont mess with that and stick with stock settings.
  22. just like the title says. would also consider Pilot Power series. edit: ok just the 180 series tire. 190 ain't for me... NEW condition only please. PM me with a price or post in the thread doesn't matter. prefer columbus or dayton area members for a pick up also would consider a shipment from farther away if the price is right
