  2. Dammit, I'm out. Got roped in to more stuff with my family (bunch of em are just in town for the weekend) and I won't have enough time to even make it out to the good roads and back, let alone ride anything fun.

    :nono:

  3. TJ at riders discount is the go-to guy for parts for almost everyone on the triumph675 forum - I know I don't bother shopping anywhere else. The level of service those guys provide is second-to-none.

  4. Where's Paul Harvey? I want the rest of the story

    Ask and ye shall receive.

This is the guy who got the notes:

That's a 2000 Harley Heritage. With Thunderheader pipes. Youtube Thunderheaders, and you'll probably be able to empathize a bit with the neighbor.

Some of the last comments made by the OP include:

"They are, I was foolish to not think about how they would sound in areas with echo. They came on the bike."

"My goal would be to find a way to compromise with him. I live near a road that goes straight to the county, which is where I do most of my riding. But if the pipes have to change for neighborhood peace, so be it. I'm not married to their sound."

Sounds like understanding and compromise may prevail.

And now you have...the rest of the story. Good day.

  5. I'm going to try to show up early in the day - my afternoon is booked but I had a great time at the dyno day I was at a few years back, I'd hate to miss this one now that I actually have something to dyno again

  6. This came with the bike when I bought it, but since then it has just been collecting dust. I got a killer deal on an Arrow well before I even bought the bike, and I swapped it in for the Two Bros as soon as I could after getting the bike home. This is a great pipe but my dream bike had an Arrow on it from the second I decided I wanted a Daytona :)

  7. For sale:

Two Brothers Titanium M-2 Slip-On for Triumph Daytona 675, all model years.

Pipe is in great shape overall - 4100 miles of hot exhaust flowing through it and a few faint nicks on the end cap is about all it shows. Sounds fantastic - gives the triple a very sharp growl at all RPM's, and absolutely wails once you get generous with your right hand. It's also roughly four fucktons lighter than the stock anchor, er, exhaust.

Includes mounting bracket and db-killer (pre-installed).

Asking 250$ delivered in person - exhaust is located in Columbus but a little delivery trip would be a fine excuse for a ride. Can mail it if you help out with shipping.

  8. Meant to post up with a route a few hours ago, but one thing lead to another and before I knew it I was in the middle of doing most of the 6000 mile service on the Daytona. Now it's a quarter past midnight. Oops.

No exact route ready just yet, but the plan is to leave from Columbus at 9:30 AM and SEO for a while, then take 800 north to Coshocton and hit some of those roads, and then finally head back to Columbus via 62 sometime in the late afternoon. I'll be leaving from the BP at Hamilton and Havens Corners at 9:30 - anyone who wants to meet me there is welcome to come along. PM me for a cell number.

  9. I'm in dire need of a day off, and I plan on calling in sick tomorrow and riding all day long. Anyone want to join?

No route yet, but I plan on leaving from Columbus and hitting a bunch of the good roads in the Southeast and, if possible, find a nice fun way to get from SEO to Coshocton area and then hit some of those roads as well. It'll be a longer day with a spirited (but not insane) pace, and I expect to stop and have lunch at some point. I'll put together a route this evening once I get home from work.

Post up if you're interested - everyone is welcome. I'm thinking a ~10am departure from Columbus.

  10. I'm not going to make a call until I poke my head out the front door tomorrow morning, but if there is anything falling from the sky I'll probably stay home and maybe head out on my own later in the day :( My gear is totally useless against wet and cold - if it's just damp out and is drying up I'm fine, but if I get rained on it'll be a very cold, long ride.

  11. dude kawasaki has so many recalls that it makes me not want to even bother looking into buying one anymore.

I think they have the most out of everyone.

All bikes have problems - I'm happy to see Kawi doing something about them. The R/R on Triumph's 675 models is known to be absolute garbage and they cause problems for a significant portion of owners, but Triumph has refused to do anything since 2006.

  12. Yeah sorry I didn't let know one know. Next time I will but hope it won't be a next time :)

I'm not entirely familiar with your situation, but I'm assuming that you had the bike lowered so you could more confidently reach the ground while mounted? If this is the case and the bike now handles like shit or grounds out in the corners, you should take a step back and approach the problem from a different angle. Lower seats, proper riding boots with thicker soles, and proper suspension setup amongst other things can all be mixed in with a lesser degree of bike lowering to achieve your goal while still maintaining good cornering characteristics. If the bike really is handling so poorly that you don't feel safe riding it around corners, post up and ask for some help on the forum. There are lots of people here who have run into the tall bike/short rider dilemma that can offer advice, and there are also lots of people in and around Cbus that can help you implement any changes/mods you need to do to get that thing carving corners while also staying upright while stopped.

  13. Sorry I slowed you guys a bit

I'm quoting your post but this goes for everyone: Nobody should ever worry about slowing the group down. Stretching your legs for a few minutes at a stop sign while the rest catch up is nothing compared to the possibility of a fellow rider going in over their head and wrecking. It's common for open-invite O-R rides to be a grab bag of experience, skill level, and machine performance, and not a single "fast" person minds waiting - if they did, they wouldn't be riding with that group to begin with.

  14. Just got home - thanks for a great ride everyone! Also a BIG thanks for waiting at KFC for me. I was almost certain I'd arrive to an empty lot, but that was a very nice surprise.

Other than that poor ZX-10 meeting its rather muddy demise (and me forgetting that 'ROUTE 62 ->' signs mean "TURN HERE, IDIOT") I'd say that was a pretty ideal way to spend this freakishly warm and sunny day. It was great to see some familiar faces and also meet some new folks. Hopefully I'll see you guys out there more this season!

Now to tear the bike down and get everything nice and shiny for this weekends CSBA ride :badgerrock:
