  1. good, but I'd hardly consider tossing a few dollars his direction on par with what he's been doing. Not to dismiss your contribution out of hand, noble as it is.
  2. Not sure why you're trying to shit in this thread... Ben is doing something noble and making a difference here, perhaps you should follow his example.
  3. Wow that sucks, but that is in no way your fault... He is an adult, and you warned him... Here's hoping he heals up quick.
  4. and my bank account is showing a balance of $6
  5. I'm looking at getting a grom for the S.O. she's short and it would make an awesome learner bike for when i'm teaching newbies the basics...
  6. If i get this job offer tomorrow or monday I'll be chipping in.
  7. I got a fat tire dirt bike that was so tall I could barely reach the footpegs, let alone the ground. Dad stood a cement block out in the yard, so I could ride. I learned to start and stop from that cement block. Later I learned to start running next to it and jump on. Then when I was finally tall enough for that one(age 8), I traded for an old 80 or 81 kawi 550 ltd. Started off running next to it again.
  8. Maybe, but he'll be okay either way.
  9. I definitely push myself a bit more when in a group ride (depending on who is leading). As long as I feel I can trust my tires that is.
  10. No, he is a friend, I invited him to join the site when he got his katana... after warning him to keep it out of kershoctin'.
  11. Nah, don't need the chain out lasting the bike..and for that money i could get 5 sets...
  12. Extract it yourself? Or is that off the shelf?
  13. I meant that as a positive... But I'll go back to personal experience, never had a problem with seals, or sea otters, or walrus, 20-25k out of a chain, and I'm not gentle with it.
  14. He lives out in conneaut, same as Tim. Went to college together, good dude.
  15. I use a pickle... no, no i dont... I use purple power, while also cleaning the rest of the dirty, greasy underbelly of the bike...
  16. you believe incorrectly, the only restriction for novice is helmet. permit riders are helmet, daylight, solo, and no interstate freeway/congested roads
  17. Good job, so you have to wear a helmet for a year, iirc you were one to wear a helmet every ride anyway, so not a real hassle.. Kind of annoying, I can understand, but not any effective limitations.
  18. I support gun rights where it counts...the voting booth.
  19. I appreciate that, but it's not the number of resources that I would have if in a bind that concerned me, it's the fact that I insulted my friends to that extent... my friends are important to me, and I don't want to be the cause of their grief.
  20. perhaps... the biggest regret I had from the whole thing was the reactions I got from people like pauly and jbot, (a couple others) people I'd considered friends. like if I got a call from any of them at 2 am saying they were stranded in detroit or something, I'd have jumped in the car right then to go pick them up.
  21. Actually, I believe it probably has more to do with people discussing what's important IRL, their lives, friends and families, the recent ride or their motorcycle, as opposed to their opinions on world news, religion and politics.
  22. perhaps I don't have a time machine..yet I'll fab one up soon. And as for the loops of wire in my dune buggy (which I went back to look at the other day) those are pre-wired and currently unused circuits that I just coiled there. It was a 12 circuit fuse box that I got, and I've only got 8 circuits used right now. ignition, headlights, fog lights, running lights, horn, brake lights, turn signals, stereo... I just coiled and taped the others in case I decided to add some stuff later (more lighting, an amplifier, better horns, compressor, etc...)
  23. I've really enjoyed some of my group rides here, following Lost and Jbot around the river roads was a great time, lost is a good ride leader, and sets a great pace. Alzeimer is another guy that does a great job leading rides, knows the roads, sets a good pace, and keeps everything very smooth. My first group ride was with Dweezel leading, that was a great experience.
