I disagree...sport bikes are better equipped at avoiding catastrophe, cruisers or any other bike go fast enough to get you into trouble, and don't perform well enough to get you out of it... simple fact, you can't let a fear of death stop you from living your life. If you did, your life wouldn't be worth much in the first place.

I enjoy a ride from time to time, in the summer when i'm feeling a bit pudgy, i'll take my bicycle down to the local bike trail and ride to 'bula and back...

I'd go with the RVT. Like jrm, I prefer a more unique bike. Half the reason I got the XX was because I had seen so few of them anywhere. (on a forum with over 3500 members I think there are 4 of us)

definitely do some test rides...if you're anything like me, that will change your mind. (acceleration sucked, braking sucked, turning was a chore) If I want to go "cruising" I jump in the V-Dub, it's slow, loud and air cooled, has similar lean angles, and turns WAY more heads. LOL

I don't see the point of trading a hypersport for a cruiser... you can adapt them for comfort at the same level (bar risers, corbin seat, beetle bags) and they will still smoke any cruiser in production... the only difference is that you don't have the potato potato potato noise...
