Been curious about what others pay for their insurance based on company/age/bike. I'll go first. Company:State Farm Coverage:$100k/person and $300k/accident same for uninsured. Deductible:$500/comprehensive and $500/collision Age:23 Premium:$757.82/yr

Loud pipes especially some are obnoxious, just today I went the gas station with a buddy before playing some disc golf, some one was riding by and we had to stop our conversation and wait for him to get a block away before resuming it cause his bike was too loud to be heard over, if I can get pulled over for having my head phones in cause I cant hear an emergency vehicle, then mr loud pipes should get a ticket for himself not being able to hear and all the driver on the surrounding block too. As far as helmet go, would helmet laws save lives? Sure. Do I pay $200-1000 for my car to come with seat belts? No. Personally I think it'd be nice to see a bike/helmet combo packages. If I buy a helmet and Bike at a dealership, take the price of the helmet off or a percentage of it if its too expensive. Sure, some people would take the helmet and trash it or sell it, but even for the 1 in 10 riders that think, wow I got a free helmet, might as well wear it, it would be worth it. Basically I feel that it comes down to theres no way to reward/punish helmet wearers or none helmet wearers, so the only people to ride with one are the ones with common sense.

If you're happy with your EXO-400 and dont want to spend the money to move up to an Arai or Shoei then the EXO-700 might be a good bet, its fiberglass instead of poly so its a bit lighter, I never have trouble with the weight of my helmet and I'm extremely happy I bought it as a first.

Scorpion EXO-700. One of the best helmets for the price.

Check out my thread here. http://www.ohio-riders.com/showthread.php?t=60702 Cliff notes. Bought R6 for $3200. Dropped R6. Light Damage. $10k estimate. Insurance company gave actual cash value at $3400. After deductible and tax I got $2400 back. $80 front stay and I'm back on the road.

Personally having bought an 09 Ninja at the end of 08 spending more than $2k on one is not a good plan, the new ones look really nice but you'll pay $2k for aesthetics. 500/600 cc bikes can be had all day for $3k so why spend the same for less? Look for an older ninja around the $2k price point or dump the extra $1k and get a 600. IMHO.

I started on a 250 and have an R6 now. The 250 was a lot of fun and I loved it, as an experienced rider you may find yourself a little more happy with 500 or 600 like drew said.

QFT. I'm still on 4.0, I didn't feel the need for taller bars (4.0.1) and the PDF exploit can be patched with Cydia (4.0.2), so why upgrade. I love my i4 though

Picked up a set of Road 2's yesterday, thanks for the input guys.
-
The extra $20-30 won't break the bank though I appreciate the links. If the roads are that much more durable than I think I will go with them if the grip isn't a huge loss n/w the two.

Buying new tires for the 6 and think I'm leaning toward these two options. I don't ride any track events and I do a fair amount of highway commuting, but I like getting out into the twisties. The Road 2's would set me back ~$300 and the Power 2CT I can have at ~$230. Is the higher price worth it for a tire with a longer life vs added traction? How many miles can I expect out of either? Are there other options I should consider? Thanks in advance for any advice. O, btw, picking these up tomorrow so post quickly

Uhm maybe I'm just blind but I'm not seeing em on there.

Where did you get the colored Yamaha stickers, I might be painting my 6 soon and would like to get a new set. How hard were they to apply straight?

Nothing wakes you up in the morning like...

Happened to me awhile back, the girlfriend couldn't figure out why I slid to a stop and ripped my shirt off in the middle of the road. -
Not even replacing fairing, just front fairing stay thats all, hence why this process is so upsetting, I lost 2-3 months of ride time to 30 minutes of repair time lol.
-
Since I'm gonna be purchasing my new fairing stay off ebay and its a third party manufacturer i wont have a source VIN. Will there be any issue with that?

The bike was paid off, the market value as they calculated it was something like 3840 I believe the guy said so they took out my deductible and shit and it ends up $3200, which is what i paid for the bike so im not at all upset about that. The bike can be made road worthy for <$100 leaving plenty over for gear/goodies. Plus i cant seem to find another deal like that. lot of craiglists ads asking outrageous prices for the same bike. I'm thinkin i will most likely go with buying back the bike. I just dont feel like having to wait two months for them to see if my horn and turn signals work.
-
I dont know if i want to wait another 2 months to ride again lol

What a mess...heard back from my insurance, bikes totalled and I'm getting back $3200 if let them keep it and $2400 if I get the bike back. The handler said that it takes 6-8 weeks for the state to do a rebuilt title inspection...anyone have any experience?
