I read an article about making ballistics gelatin from packs of jello. If i remember correctly, you made the jello and let it set up, then put it back into the pan and heated it until it became liquid again and boiled. Repeated this a couple times and every time it became more dense. Definitely nothing like the real deal but a cheap alternative if you're just trying to have some fun. Weak frames, espcially over the front shock mounts (check for cracks). Mine grenaded a water pump impeller and subsequently overheated and toasted the piston.

Check the steering for excessive play. The interior will rattle, creek, and make any other weird noise that you will never find the source of. There is a problem with rock chips on the rockers and doors. The "Service Stabilitrac" message will pop up from time to time. Transmissions and T-cases have already been mentioned. Front hubs are shit (I've already had 1 replaced and the other is starting to hum). Upgrading the rear swaybar makes a world of difference. Bone stock, the engine doesn't start to wake up until 4-5K rpm.
