GuardRail-Mike
So this will probably be an stupid question for most of ya but.... I don't know and cant seem to find anything on google. My question is... Is the 2013 yamaha r6 battery positive polarity or negative... Try to hook up a battery tender but need to find this out first in order to know which end to connect to the chassis.... Yea I'm still learning and thanks in advance for any insight.. smashweights
Don't the actual brand Battery Tender have reverse polarity protection anyway? Connect + to + and - to - and see what happens

SWing'R
I realize that lol i need to know which is the ground... :/Negative should be the ground. But not sure I understand the question or confusion, the tender has a quickconnect cable that comes with it,you simply connect the black connector to the negative and the redconnector to the positive, then plug the tender into the quick connect cable. serpentracer
Cool thanks everyone for the help. I just thought id have to clip one or the other to the chassis and didn't wanna mess something up. But it appears it doesn't matter Thank you!it does matter. the reverse protection is for the tender and battery if you hook up the polarity wrong. it simply shuts down. if you hooked up a normal charger in reverse it could damage the charger and battery. always disconnect the neg on the battery when working on the bike also. if you leave the neg hooked up and the positive unhooked a charge can still be present in the system. SWing'R
with most stuff yes.... but old British bikes and cars ran positive groundLol yeah I wasn't going to go there. Anything made in the last 20yrs is probably gonna be negative chassis. But in his situation he's using the clips anyway, so black to black, red to red, done. The one with either bare wire or eyelets on the end, not the clips. I want a second plug but dont want to buy a whole new battery tender. Gump
TSC might have those if you need them quick. They're on chemical sprayers, solar chargers, et cetera.

SWing'R
Is there a difference between the clips and the quick connect? The quick connect is designed for permanent mounting on the battery,or at least extended mounting, such as all winter long. The advantageis you can put the bike back together and just run the connector outunder the seat somewhere for quick connection as opposed to having the disassemble things to get to the battery.
